Theres a few things i dont understand, us normal Chelsea fans have all accepted and identified that Florent Malouda is a spent force at this stage of his current career. We need to actively pursue the french and italian clubs in seeking offers for the player come January. Why Lukaku was played as a winger when Torres needs service is beyond me but ok that was an experiment AVB knows for the future it doesnt work. At the end of the day for the last 2/3 seasons we have been lacking 2 things: Pace and Flair, it is as simple as that. Apart from Sturridge we dont have any real pace and it is truely shocking that a club that wants to challenge for titles is so lacking in the most crucial of area's which is the wings, couple this with the lack of flair players (dribbling and creative moves which will open up a game and beat a player) we are very robotic and predictable in our play. A ball into a aging Lampard or sideways Mikel is working anymore and it has been said for years now by us fans that it doesnt work. I as much as anyone would love to see a few shrewed buys of young talent that in a few years can turn out to be future EPL superstars but we need world class talent and we need it now. Unfortuantly the trend has become spend big to get talent and we are going to have to do this to turn around this situation we face. If a Lucas Moura is going to cost £30m - £40m in January then pay it along with a Eden Hazard. We need Pace and Creativity and a non predictable style and these 2 players for example would bring us that. People will say what about the cost though and its not sustainable and i totally agree but the sport of football isnt sustainable the way it is at the moment and who ever has the biggest wallet gets the best players simple :(

I sold Abramovich a pair of rubber shoes full of holes for £500. After buying Shevshenko and Torres I knew he'd be a sucker for a pair of over-priced Crox.

Boas is trying to play in the similiar fashion to what Mourinho's did, by playing 5 players very far forward, and the last 5 to sit and defend heavily. We don't have the players for this type of strategy.
For this to work we need a squad like this...

--------------Cech---------------
VDW---Subotic---Terry---Cole
----------Oriol Romeu----------
------------------Ramires----
Reus-------Mata-----DeBruyne
Higuian/Torres

Coutrois, David Luiz, Ivanovic, Merieles, Essien, Sturridge, Torres/Higuian.

Hopefully For Summer 2012

What do you think Chaps?

Mine would be

Cech
VDW Subotic Cahill Bertrand
Ramires Romeu DeBruyne
Mata
Sturridge Torres

Id take that for next season being completley realistic, must get Cahill and Vdw in Jan tho do avoid to much change at once, id rather splash the cash in defence than on attack, leaving Cole out is a bit dodgy, but we could be in danger of another terry/lamps/drog if we keep relying on the 30+'s, send out josh/lukaku/piazon, chabaloh should be ready for fringe/loan aswel, dont get me wrong id love a higuain but id be happy with that lineup

Mine Team for 2012/2013 would be:
Cech
VDW Luiz Cahill/Subotic Bertrand
Hazard Romeu DeBruyen
Mata
Sturridge Torres

Bench: Turnbull Ramires Cahill/Subotic Miereles Cole Ivanovic Lukaku
Young Squad players: McEachran Kakuta Courtois Bruma Van Aanholt Kalas Piazon Divila

Luiz will improve with a quicker defender next to him. McEachran and Lukaku out on loan now. Great service from the old guard Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Anelka, Essien, Alex but its time to go if you are going to filter in the youth. Clear out the rest and start again.

sorry guys but even avram grant had more of a clue than AVB. not saying he is a bad manager but tactically he is clueless. maybe it was too early for him to come to the EPL. open to discussion, not abuse if ofc you guys have realised AVB isnt doing so well.

Give AVB a chance he hasnt had time to buy any players and build his team, most of that team sucks and he will make it awesome

Today's performance wasn't very much out of the question. Avb's philosophy is to play the youth in these matches and they burned him today. Bertrand got caught off by Bellamy and the rest was simple football. The second goal lukaku lost his mark on Martin Kelly which is sadly inexcusable. On the whole I hated the setup by avb today. Putting lukaku out wide is like playing bosingwa as a centre half. There was zero service to Torres which was inevitable when you boast malouda and Lampard who are only out to score goals for themselves and lukaku plus Ramires (once mceachren came off) who just aren't great passers. I honestly wonder wether avb wants Torres to score when he throws him into the middle of this. Another thing, anyone who still believes in alex should be quiet. When he's gotten the chance lately he was beaten for pace on leverkusens first goal, got beat on a corner for their second, gave up his second penalty of the year today, and was nowhere to be seen for liverpools first goal today. Lastly if you take lampards name of his shirt what does he provide? Sub par free kicks, very good on penalties, makes good runs but lacks pace which has hurt that department, pretty good work rate however lack of pace again has it's side effects, sub par defensively, sub par vision however spread the ball out wide definsively, but the thing pisses me off most is he takes shots from ridiculous angles/distances.

ED02 With us losing once more the chances of Hiddink as DOF will increase it is clear he needs someone to guide him through the first year of Premiership football? {Ed002's Note - As I have said before - that is not the natural solution.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

But you have said someone may be bought in? If not Hiddink then who? {Ed002's Note - I am not going to get sucked in to that now. I am in the bar of the Marriott at Zurich airport and you are over-reacting to the result of one game.}

Agree0 Disagree2

1 game ED its been the past 8 games AVB still decides to play a high line we are cut open like butter every game if we play like that v Valencia it will be the europa league for us {Ed002's Note - Hey, it ois just a game. You are sounding like a Liverpool supporter.}

Agree0 Disagree5

Will you discuss the options of who may be bought in to help AVB when u have time ED? {Ed002's Note - I will be back in the UK tomorow afternoon.}

Cheers ED

Open your eyes ED02 the wheels are falling off,AVB will never be a JM!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed if you think were over reacting to tonight's game your very naive . Walked out tonight 25mins before the end , I had seen enough , we have gone backwards by 10 years . The Chelsea board are a shambles and crouching tiger AVB in my opinion is out of his depth ! Ricky {Ed001's Note - great support you are showing for your club *shakes head in amazement*.}

Agree1 Disagree0

You a fan of AVB ED01? {Ed001's Note - his past record suggests he has the ability to do well, if given the time to do so. I wouldn't say I was a fan, but I do rate him very highly as one of the best young managers in the world.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Chelsea fans r so blind. AVB is a gr8 young manager, but the problem doesnt lie with him. Its the players, too old n sloppy. It will take atleast two seasons to sort it out. Be prepared to play in europa league.

So disappointed again. Liverpool were so comfortable it was unbelievable. Like a training session for them. We are in real trouble. The next 3 games all off which we are likely to lose the way we are playing and thats the season over with regard to winning anything (6th Dec). AVB standing on the touch line looked like a lost man in deep trouble I think.

AVB you had a winning combination on Saturday, why didn't you keep that team today? Mind you, as well as you failling the team, every player failed you tonight. Luiz is not a disciplined CB, Alex was very sloppy, Bertrand looked off the mark, Turnbull could do very little, Romeu looked tired, Lampard was poor, Torres looks shattered in confidence, Malouda was crap as usual, Lukaku reminded me of Heskey, Mata and Anelka had very little time to change the scoreline.
Team after January should be:
Cech
VDW Godin Cahill Cole
Essien De Bruyne
Hazard Mata
Sturridge Reus

Subs: Turnbull, Luiz, Torres, Mcheachran, Mereiles, Romeu, Kakuta.

That is a team which could compete for the EPL.
Just got to pray it happens.
CFCFOREVER!

First of all de bruyne is more of an attacking midfielder and playing him alongside essien will hinder him, like what happened to obi mikel when he came. and reus is more of a winger/wide forward than up top striker.

Loosing twice from the Cop in a week? Too much. Nice meeting you AVB. {Ed002's Note - Busted.}

Sorry Ed didn't get that. Who is busted? {Ed002's Note - I was being fippant - re read it.}

I am a massive fan of Torres however I don't think he will score tonight and the reason why is because he is playing alongside Malouda, and to the lesser astent Lampard. Why do u keep doing it to him AVB, and people wonder why he doesn't score. He should play with Mata and Mereiles if he's gonna start getting confidence and goals as they both create good chances. Open your eyes AVB

lucas piazon, kakuta should be giving their chance.they have got exceptional abilities.what do think about kakuta with his loan deal to bolten.any chance of a future at the bridge? {Ed002's Note - No agreement has been reached about Kakuta but the loan has not gone at all well as he has not gotten the expected games. Piazon will get his chance - perhaps in a year's time.}
