Mourinho saying that he doesn't want kenedy to go out on loan is great in my eyes young talented lad can't wait to see more of him. I think we will sign a left back then that's us done in transfer window, mane a shock transfer at end witsel stones but can't see it think the special one is happy with the squad

When would he play though? Apparently he played well yesterday and impressed, but we're pretty loaded right now for the wing/attacking midfield positions. Also, I doubt he'd qualify for a work permit. And I read he's still pretty raw so I'd like to see him go out on loan, perhaps to Marseille? It'd be a big step for him but it could benefit him massively.

I no what u mean but Costa already struggling with injury think he could play in carling cup fa cup early rds. We need raw I think something different looks a strong lad give him ago lol

Kenedy was pretty impressive last night. Big strong lad who seems to have a great engine. He didn't stop running the whole time he was on! What I noticed aswell was his crisp touch. Brought the ball under control beautifully. i'd be happy for him to stay with the squad this season if he can get his work permit. Not sure where he would get minutes though.

I stayed up to watch the game, thought Kenedy was very good! He's 19 years old, very quick, physically very strong and built for the prem - at one point he outmuscled Suarez and put him on the floor with his strength. Touch was excellent, had the tendency to run into danger a little bit but to be fair he did have a couple of players around him most of the time. I'd keep him, looks a great asset and with our opposition knowing nothing about him he could come in very handy!

His build and strength surprised me. very direct runner like Traore but with a much stronger physique. Either him or Traore could offer depth up front. with Moses arguably being our most impressive player in pre-season it could mean Willian playing more through the middle.

First things first. Work permit!

It's weird to hear Mourinho say that he thinks Kenedy would qualify for a work permit. I don't see how he would? Could anyone possibly explain under which rules he would? Or any of the Eds? :-)

If we pay over 10m then he would get one automatically. Maybe were being creative with how we do the deal.

Hazard, Willian and Oscar are our three main attackers. If there's two spots up for grabs as squad players who would you choose out of these three? Moses, Cuadrado and Traore? Pick two. I've excluded Kennedy because he hasn't officially signed or has a work permit.

I think Traore will go back out on loan - don't think he's ready yet

I'd keep Traore. Either one of the other 2 would be fine for me. I think Cuadrado can still perform for us. He's so quick and he's got a good change of direction. Just needs to get stronger and less erratic in his dribbling sometimes. But I'm fine with the attacking midfielders we've got now.
Central mid is my biggest worry (assuming a left back is signed).

Mourinho once mentioned that he needs no more new faces for wingers position. We got 5 players for that spots already. Those 5 would be: Hazard, William, Moses, Traore, Cuadrado. So no one in them will go except we get someone to replace.

I think I really didn't like Moses but he has been very very good In pre season he looks like a fella who can make something happen every time he gets on the ball

Chelsea wanted to re-call Moses in January but he wanted to stay at Stoke. I think Jose likes him. I think Kennedy might stay as well and play for the under 21's with RLC and Solanke while also getting first team opportunity in the cup's. Players can now develop well working with quality first team players in training and playing at a competitive youth level. Hence what has happened with RLC

Moses, while erratic at times can be a serious game changer. He rarely lacks the confidence to run at a man

Moses is a fantastic player but he wasn't given proper chance. It shows how stupid were some decisions in the past. Hopefully Moses will get his chance this season.

Our two biggest youth prospects are Loftus-Cheek and Traore and none of them even got 10 minutes last night. One of them playing 45 minutes each would give them a lot of experience.

Hey so I was wondering what you all think about our next captain. I do understand that Terry may have another year left after this, but with Jose's recent comments about Hazard being a Chelsea skipper, do you think he could do the job? I don't know much about his leadership, but could this be a way to keep him at Chelsea for the long term? Love the posters, let's hope for a great season!

It didn't work for Fabregas at the Arse

I believe a safe bet would be to give it to courtouis as he is a keeper and everyone has to listen to him anyway! Azpi would be my choice as he seems to be a nice bloke and he matured a lot in Chelsea

Hazard got my vote. Sometimes leading by example is just as important as being vocal

Azpilicueta. Chelsea have a great defence but Terry makes it with his organisational skills and as new players come in we will still have a good defence but need someone with that 'extra touch' that Terry currently brings so to me Azpilicueta is by far the best choice.

For the first half hour we pressed barca high up the pitch and looked good for it. After that kept sitting back looked poor against a barca b team. As we all keep saying it's only pre season but we need to press high as we look a better side for it. A high pressing 4-3-3 suits the team a lot more than the 4-2-3-1

Real 433 doesn't really exist (except in Real Madrid case Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale). Closest to 433 is 4312 on the pitch.
Absolutely agree about 4231.Defensive football relying on counter attacks in Chelsea case.

Hazard apparently in mid season form already. Arsenal better be careful. We haven't played well for a full 90 minutes, but whenever Oscar's on it's game time!
I think that if Oscar plays on Sunday we'll win and vice versa.

Cracking start from Kenedy. Powerful what a block to hold off Suarez.
Zouma unlucky no to score . Wht a save.

Eds I have just read online that Chelsea needed permission from fluminese for Kennedy to play v barca. Is this true and if so why as I thought Chelsea had purchased the player.

{Ed018's Note - the deal hasn't been completed but will be at some point I'm sure. I am interested in seeing him play tonight}

29 Jul 2015 01:53:15
Well he's impressed me more in one half than cuadrado has since January.

{Ed018's Note - yea he had a decent first half. Looks like he will have the pace and strength to deal with playing in England, hopefully at some point}
