Benteke might be an option when Villa go down?

I doubt it but let's start a 'replacement for Drogba' rumor here.

I get p****e of with the constant digs the pundits make about the number of managers that Chelsea have had since Roman took over at Chelsea in June 2003. Now there is even a suggestion that Chelsea will struggle to get anyone to manage them. Its difficult to argue that we have had too many but without looking up on the net over the same period as Roman has owned the club how many managers/ head coaches have the following clubs had

1 Real Madrid
2 Bayern Munich
3 Ajax
4 Benfica
5 Ac Milan
6 Spurs
7 Newcastle
8 QPR
9 Chelsea

Terraloon

Believable5 Unbelievable3

So you don't waste too much time here we go
Real Madrid 11
Bayern 8
Ajax 9
Benfica 8
AC Milan 3 (But Inter have had 9)
Spurs 8
Newcastle 13
QPR 16
Chelsea 10

Ok I have added in everyone who has managed/been head be it for 50 games or just 1 (like Ray Wilkins) but irrespective makes you think doesn't it!

Terraloon

Agree4 Disagree1

Qpr had 16 in ten years!

It's more about how they have been sacked! it looks to everyone that even if you win things with chelsea you job is not safe.

We should not buy anyone this transfer window. With 22 players on loan, some 5-6 with expiring contracts, we are quite a mess of a group. We should be easily alright to finish in top4. Then in the summer bring in a proper manager. Let the group have a decent pre season and then identify the missing pieces.

But we should only be going for either a bargain or world class. We should be ok onwards with squad players and we definitely should not be buying the types of Marin, Malouda, Kalou, etc. These type of prospects should be coming through academy, or be bought at early age at right price.

Whereas if we buy, we should be going world class and only that. It's so much more logical buying a Dani Alves for 30 mil euros and paying him high wages, than going through 3 differend wannabes and end up wirh same money wasted and nowhere near the quality gained. I'm bringing this up, because I am delighted we kept Cole, coz there is noone near his quality in the world right now worth the bid. Same goes for Dani Alves who we were 5 minutes from completing, but had our "kenyon" moment at the end.

Hence, I think we shouldn't be spending a penny for squad players, unless we get the Cahill, Ba, Romeu type of deals. Else we should only concentrate on world beaters. I'm talking about best in the world. Players that can change games on their own. Because every 30 million spent on definite superstar is 10 times the value of any two 15 million good players.

No world class player is available in this window and if there ain't no bargains - skip it.

For the summer concentrate on Falcao, Cavani, Neymar, Xabi Alonso, Mats Hummels. Them and the emerging prospects should be our goal.

JG

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Totally agree, we should be buying world class players or prospects that have a high resale value in the future.

For examples: Wilfred Bony is a good player but the likes of Cavani or Falcao world class and are what this club need and should be our top priority.

I'm sure I'll get shot down in flames but how about a cheeky loan move for Scott Sinclair.....I'm certain he would offer more than Marin. A proper winger as well. CTID

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Are you a joke?

Agree7 Disagree1

I don't think I'm a joke....I'm remembering him being lightning quick, physically able to survive, prepared to take people on and a hard worker...well he was at Swansea anyway....are you saying you would prefer Marin after he disappeared following the first tackle against the Bees

Agree1 Disagree3

Marin is better than sinclair. if marin hadnt been left out for so long, he might feel part of the squad and actualy show some passion. down to terrible management.

Agree4 Disagree3

We should never ever buy the likes of Marin, Benayoun, Zhirkov, Kalou again. These types have average written all over. And this is the least we need at Chelsea.

Can we still call back any players that are out on loan e.g. De Bruyne and Lukaku? {Ed018's Note - Lukaku we could, I don't think De Bruyne}

Rumours are falcao is Manchester city bound in the summer.. Personally do not think its true as jovetic is there number 1 target.

Manchester UTD's is lewondoski but likely for summer

Arsenal linked with cavani but can't see them paying the amount required to get him.

And as for us I think we should get cavani or falcao sooner rather than later.. I'd rather get cavani now than falcao in summer

Next season I would like to see falcao fellaini, ben arfa de bruyne lukaku all playing regularly, kalas ake feruz josh mC breaking into squad getting minutes and Getting a taste of pren football.. Think that squad would be really good and lamps and Torres of wage bill is big plus.. Would like lamps around club playing occasionally but his past it unfortunately
Matt

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Ben arfa?!

Agree4 Disagree4

Why Ben Arfa? Just bring back De Bruyne them you have five players of mata hazard Moses Oscar and de Bruyne for the attacking three sell Marin.

CfcBenWxm

Agree5 Disagree2

Ben arfa is good wide player and would offer width and is better than Marin wouldn't cost as much as some players and is proven in prem. why not Ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree3

I agree Ben arfa is a good option, scores some amazing goals, only one concern would be he can be very injury prone.

I'm not sure whether bringing back Drogs would have beenna good idea. A fan favorite - yes, a vocal leader - yes. Might have brought a much needed psychological lift. It may have resulted in some proper performances as well.

Well, this won't happen, of course. But the thing which worries me is that we are offering him a deal now, but could not acknowledge that just half a year ago. Such a shame we went for half a season with misfiring, disinterested, sulking forward, than extending our hero. We are living off of our mistakes.

Couldn't agree more. Letting a real winner, a legend, a motivator walk away for nothing was our greatest undoing... Drogs shd still be here until a few years time when Lukaku steps up. Shame...the club now realize.

Just watched Vitesse vs Ajax and saw a very good performance from Patrick Van Aanholt, I thought at the end of the season he would be sold or loaned out again but now I think he would be good to be a squad player. I know its only one match but he was fantastic, he attacked very well, took a very good goal, has fantastic pace and defended very well against two very pacey wingers. If he can continue to play like this on a consistent basis then maybe Luke Shaw isn't needed. Kalas also played well, showed strength and pace and good positional awareness, he also should have scored. Kakuta had a solid performance showed pace and dribbling, lots of potential.

PB

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Agree with you there mate would rather get rid of Bertrand and give Van Aanholt a try next season.

CfcBenWxm

Ye all 3 were impressive kalas did struggle againt eriksen a few times. kakuta impressed me actually showing he's more than a show boater, clever runs & quick passing. plus they had 2 marking him. BLUEBOY1

One thing that has me intrigued is the centre midfield situation. It's quite obvious we could use another big time player in that position but with that being said we have a lot of guys (on the books) who play there.

As of now all of the following players play as centre mids: lampard, rami, Luiz, mikel, oscar, and Romeu in addition to the players currently loaned: McEachran, essien, de bruyne, and chalobah. Next year lampard and essien are scheduled to be on their own. Then you can say Oscar plays only in the front three and chalobah goes back to being a centre half and you're still looking at: rami, mikel, Luiz, Romeu, McEachran, and de bruyne. That's 6 centre mids and we still want to bring an additional one in. If we did that I'd have to imagine we let one of the 6 go because 6 is a lot as it is. Food for thought....

Tk

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Good post TK. I'd imagine that Josh will be loaned out for another season, possibly to a prem team like Wigan or Southhampton. Romeu could also be loaned to ensure he gets a full season of first team football under his belt. That leaves us with Mikel, Rami, Luiz and De Bruyne. De Bruyne could be used as cover for the front 3, as he was used as both a CAM and LW at Genk. Luiz is obviously cover for centre halves. Then we would only have Rami and Mikel as solely CM as I expect Chabolah to have another loan stint.

Then I would assume we will look to bring in Fernando or someone similar.

Melbourne CFC

Agree3 Disagree2

Kevin de bruyne plays predominantly on the left wing ... Blue bazz

Agree1 Disagree2

I honestly think if I was josh and I got loaned again I would pack my bags. My thing with Romeu is while he was one of our best players under AVB he has been hurt for most of the other time. I also think he's too slow to play in a two man midfield. That being said I think he's 21.

Tk

Agree1 Disagree0

Josh is 19 Tk. He still has a lot of developing to do, and time is on his side. He seems to be content on loan aswell, as he knows he is getting heaps of minutes.

Romeu is far better suited to playing as a lone holding mid mate, I agree.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree1

We need josh intergrated, trained proply to bulk up. out of 6 mids 2 should be youngsters. my pick josh & romeu. also sell mikel to get fernando or fernidinho. de bruyne has played a lot at CM this season but he realy is mre of an attacker. BLUEBOY1

Ok ED002 how can the club even comprehend not bringing atleast 1 more player in this window when we have already played 40 games this year player's are complaining about tiredness Hazard is banned Moses and Mikel are away by March the player will be exhausted yet we have 22 player's on loan and the club won't recall even 1 of them who made that decision? How can a team go through a season and the board want the club to challenge for trophies when we have a squad of 16 to choose from it is impossible how the club did not try and sign anyone else in this window is absurd!

Ed001, what's your take on KDB mate? Do you think he will be ready to play at CFC next year, or would another loan be best? Hope you enjoyed Australia Day ;-)

So Benitez says the squad is too small yet noone at the club wants to add any depth we have 22 player's on loan yet we recall none we are a joke when it comes to transfer windows Micheal Emelano needs to be sacked

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Yes, let's sack the guy responsible for bringing all the top young talent to the bridge (Piazon, Lukaku, Romeu, KDB, Feruz, Courtois etc.) and not the guy who doesn't know how to rotate the squad. Not to mention his ability to sell the club to the likes of Hazard, Mata and Oscar when other clubs where in the frame. Clueless!

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree2

The sooner Emenalo is sacked the better, he is ruining are club, his advice to Roman is appalling.
I read somewhere that it was Emenalo that got rid of Wilkins, according to Andy Gray.

Must agree melbourne cfc we've signed some great players but need a mananger to sort us out is it really the end ofthe world if we don't win a cup this season I remember the days b4 roman perhaps other people should and get behind us win or lose

matt

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agree Matt. The fans were a lot happier in those days. We weren't challenging like we are now either, the fans just loved the club.

I can't understand the negativity towards Ramires either. I know we his isn't the most gifted, but as far as I'm concerned that goal against Barca earns him a lifetime of rubbish performances. Can you imagine even 15 years ago being able to say 'We are European Champions'. 19th May 2012. A day I'll never forget.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree1

I no I pinch my self every time I think of it its crazy we are the champions of europe and have won the premier league three times if we never win anything again in my life time { which hopefully we do } I can die a happy man .. win or lose i'm chelsea allways have been allways will be players come and go but true fans stay with there clubs in bad times aswell . this new lot if there so pissed off go support city or united they won't be missed and ramy is a god for that goal
