Seriously unlucky for the youth lads. Dominated, played lovely football and beaten by a rugby team from a penalty. let's really back them at the Bridge now, we should win that because Norwich just got lucky. Really disappoints me when a youth team is taught long-ball football, such a waste of quality. Norwich don't deserve anything for that performance, a bad miss aside they created nothing.
On a brighter note Ake looks such a talent, Boga also and RLC has demonstrated why he got a professional contract. Two chances cleared off the line and Feruz had one of those days. Musonda looks a good prospect as well.

P. S. Very confident for the second leg, let's try and get as big a crowd as possible and back our boys. 3-0 to us, Feruz, Boga and Kiwombya to score.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I watched it and I thought the lads were brilliant! Shame about the result but the cup shoulf be ours! Feruz wasn't his normal self however and I also thought Baker wasn't as good as we know he is. Ake and RLB were the standouts for me and Kiwomya looks like another Eden Hazard! Expecting big things from him!

BOGA what a beast

Watching the youth team and RLC plays like a young Jack Rodwell but with a real touch he's rather classy on the ball.
One Bomb Tom

Sturridge PL starts 8, 7 goals.
torres PL starts 26 goals 7.

How on earth did we sell sturridge and kept torres.
I saw him yesterday, he has changed completly and has become a good team player with excellent movment.

He would have been excellent up front with mata, hazard and oscar behind. certainly better than torres

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is getting boring now, Sturridge has an attitude problem and although his good his not as good as he thinks he is, man city and Chelsea both saw that, if Chelsea had of played v that Newcastle Torres would of bagged 4 or 5 they were horrendous, I'm glad he went. ,

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you highlighted the point yourself. 'He has changed completely'. His attitude and selfishness led him to being sold. Not to mention his trigger happiness and shooting from obscure and random angles. He's changed since going to Liverpool and it's worked out for him. When he had his opportunities earlier in the season he didn't show the sort of quality he's showing now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle were completely all over the place. It was schoolboys vs men in that match.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge has a massive ego, doesn't help with his old man claiming how good he is, I hate big headed people especially ones who thinks he's better than he is. He's never gunna be world class so he ain't good enough for us. I've seen sturridge take a shot from 30 yards instead of a simple pass where he could of had an easy assist. He has also got a point to prove to Chelsea when he came on and also Brendan rogers after a fall out. Once he's settled again hell go back to being the greedy big ego sturridge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge hasn't changed, he has always been good, and most certainly better than Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has few good games. What about v Southampton when he was lazy and greedy and shot from silly angles. Or west brom when he was in lukaku's shadow. Few good games and his a superstar. Glad we got rid as he'd only be jealous of lukaku next year anyway. I remember Sturridge saying in papers why he should be ahead of kalou Torres and DROGBA! We went in to win champ league.

Regarding the PFA awards, I don't really think that Bale deserves it. He's an amazing player but other players were much more consistent. And I don't think someone who is 23 should be winning the Young Player of the Year Award. Cut off age should be 21 at the start of the season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Player of the year in my eyes is an MVP (Most Valuable Player) and by that logic he deserves it. You take his impact and performances out of that team they would be where Liverpool are this season. Tottenham don't have anyone close to Bales quality you could argue Man United have Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck besides Van Persie. Suarez was never going to win due to recent events.

Young player of the year should be 23 I agree. 18 - 21 should be the age category.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree the age should be younger. I'd have to imagine back when it was introduced you didn't have 17 year olds making regular starts as you do today.

Agree0 Disagree0

The votes happened before the biting incident, so it wasn't taken into account. And by most valuable player, I'd have to say Suarez is more valuable to Liverpool than Bale to Tottenham, just because if Suarezs wasn't there Liverpool would be battling for a top 10 position and certainly wouldn't be able to attract another player of his calibre. Whereas if Tottenham sold Bale they'd probably still be able to get a top quality player in to replace him.

One final point, Bale is the only player to have ever been suspended for diving. He's been booked so many times this season for diving and to put him on a pedestal as a role model for other players to follow is ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale has taken Tottenham to champions league contention where as Suarez hasn't. Liverpool and Tottenham are equal teams if their superstar is taken away from them. You expect a striker in this league to get 15 goals a season if he's at a top 10 - 5 club. You don't expect a winger to get 19 goals in 29 games plus its important goals he's scored and single-handedly won games for Tottenham.
Lets hope Tottenham don't get champions league and he's sold to Real Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

By the way if your saying Suarez should have won this award then complain that Bale isn't a role model for diving (which I hate with a passion) how the hell can Suarez win? he's scored a hand ball goal, racially abused a player repeatedly during a match, been banned for 10 games for biting and opponent, didn't shake Evras hand and also swore at a sideline camera after he scored.
Great role model.
Bale dives and it is wrong and the FA need to start banning players for doing it but Bale is a saint in comparison to that horrible little man Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale has been converted into a striker. He's been playing centrally, not as a winger. Bale has something like 4 assists, Suarez has 8. Suarez has contributed to 46% of Liverpool goals whereas Bales has only contributed to 38%. Bale also has only started playing well since December. So on a purely footballing side of things, he's had a much better season.
Also Tottenham is still a much better team than Liverpool if they were both without their key men.
Many of the incidents you cited happened last season and the bite happened after the votes. I hate Suarez, I think he's a despicable person. But he's stopped diving and until the biting incident, I had thought he'd turned himself around.
We've always slammed Suarez for diving etc but Bale is just as bad if not worse and yet he's never criticised for it.
I also think that the PFA is a popularity contest. Suarez has had the better season undoubtedly, but I feel that his personality has meant that some players will never vote for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs team is a lot better than liverpools but bale like RVP scores important goals that's why he won and he tracks back and defends

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand what your saying m8 but Bale has come on leaps and bounds since last season where as Suarez has improved but not to the same degree. End of the day its a matter of opinion. If I could choose between Bale and Suarez I would pick Bale. Just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale has been stunning, he deserves it. As there are 2 awards and he qualifies for both, he is able to win both, a feat only ever achieved twice before. He is an incredible talent. and this from a United fan.

Hi Chelsea fans we don't really have much luck with strikers only Drogba we really got our money's worth (legend) but think are luck would change in falcao I no people saying that cavani would be better or the lad from Dortmund but my opinion falcao is the complete striker out of all of them strong fast great header of a ball, mobile, creative and the boy can finish. He's got everything only fear we've been linked with him for Afew years now and look what happened when we were linked with Sergio ageuro (spelling) we were interested with him for ages and then went city and look how gud he's become in prem, just hope same doesn't happen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And if/when Falcao comes to Chelsea and scores some 22 goals a season. How would you rate him then? Will it be worth 50 million transfer fee and some 10 million a season in salaries and other costs, like agent fees which I have no clue of?

Will that be a return you crave for? Is it worth the money? He'll be 28 next season. Imagine he has an ok first season, like same Suarez had upon arriving to England. His second season he'd be 29.

A player of that quality can make a difference between a league winner and a wannabe (look up for RVP). But that is a huge investment nevertheless. Somehow other teams usually manage it at half the money we do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Falcao next contract will be his last big one in my eyes 28 yrs old 4/5 yr deal no sell on price he will make the money back on what we win I just think if we had him last yr we wouldn't be in the situation we are now. Think Torres will go and we bought Ba because Torres was struggling and he had a good goal scoring record in the prem proven in the premiership that's the important bit not because Ba was world class because he nows the premiership. My opinion lukaku is better than Ba and bring falcao in as a new striker also shurrle can play there need a gud strong midfielder as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly. I actually agree with you for once JG. I'm not sure either Falcao or Cavani are worth the money. 60M euros for Falcao or 70M for Cavani is a lot of money. We could buy another Hazard and Mata for the same price at Falcao.
Lewandowski is in his final year of his contract cand could be available for around 20-25M euros. There are other quality strikers out there that are available. I personally would like Higuain. He's 25 a top clinical striker, who's likely to be available as Real's looking at others.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aubameyang :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Will soon see what happens just my opinion falcao is the more complete striker for me 50million 5 years that 10million a yr if he does the business bargin in my eyes but am not the one paying haha am shore the rite decisions will be made come the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

The unfortunate reality is that Higuain is a class below the other strikers mentioned. If we want to be challenging for the title and in europe again then we have to get the best out there!

Agree0 Disagree0

I never questioned the deals we make money wise before the PFF. Now, as far as I see it if the fail with mega bucks deals they'll haunt us, unlike the Sheva, Torres busts of the past.

United or Bayern will get Lewandowski for a decade and will spend around 25 million euros. Perhaps he is not a "marquee" signing in someone's eyes, therefor we'll focus elsewhere.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Falcao and Cavani are the two best strikers in the world atm but that doesn't mean that it'll work out if they come here. Other teams out there still do really well with strikers that are 'below their level'. Higuian scores pretty much between 20-30 goals a season.
To spend 110M/120M Euros on tranfer fees and wages for Falcao or Cavani is a major risk. We've gone out and bought 2 major marquee signings as strikers and neither have worked out. For me I'd be happy to have someone on Higuain/Benzema/Lewandowski's level. Not to mention they're all younger and could potentially have sell on values.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aubameyang would be an ideal signing for me, but I see him as more of a compliment striker.

Lukaku is better than Ba, I'd have Lukaku back and move Ba on.

Torres will still likely move on, that would leave Aubameyang and Lukaku.

At his age, with his fee and wages, is Falcao an option the club should go for? I don't think so! For me Cavani is the ideal striker for us, but I see him in the whit of Real Madrid next season. Lewandowski would be good, but I see him at either United or Bayern next season. the options are dwindling!

If only signing players was as easy as listing them on here!
