Fabregas is not the best defensive player, but at least he doesn't lose the ball in dangerous area.

He still young and will improve in that aspect for certain, although i can agree he can be frustrating to watch. With Fabregas we saw both sides of him, whenever we were in their half dominating possession you can see the impact he has, the flicks with hazard and movement around the box is great and especially with Pedro in the squad we look fluent going forward. But without the ball he struggles, defensive awareness and positioning is something he really lacks in. He works hard but he just isn't a defensive minded player.

No Bakayoko is no liability, I think he's adapting, his role and movement in Chelsea is very different from what he is used to in Monaco. Just be a bit patient him, he will hit top form in a little while. Remember he is just 23.

I also believe that he will improve in the future. Problem is that many thought that he is a finished product even upgrade. Simply he still unreliable. Hopefully Kante and Drinkwater will recover soon and Fabregas is our best and most creative CM.

Baka made the champions league team of the season and has been playing whilst not fully fit.

Yesterday he sacrificed his game to play as holding midfield, it was an okay performance from him despite not playing his normal role.

He's far more complete tan Fabregas who cannot contribute against stronger teams because he get run all over.

Don't forget that this time last year some of you were slagging off Alonso.

I definitely wouldn't start with Drinkwater - I honestly don't get how people think he played well last game - I don't know if I'm in the wrong or what, but I think he played quite poorly actually.
Also, Pedro deserves to start, I think, and I don't think we should start with Batshuayi. Furthermore, I really, really hope that we won't use Willian, as I think he's been awful the last couple of games.

I agree with LRDit although I would like to see Drinkwater replace Fabregas sometime in the match as I think he may well replace him in most games when fit. His passing is very good and he does not need so much time and space to deliver them plus he is better in the tackle.

LRDit. I agree he looked briefly sharp in the week but I hope he gets on and with the training he has had will be fully fit for next week because I would NOT play Fabregas against Man Utd.

Why worry your heads about Drinkwater, Conte has told everyone (after the Everton game) that Drinkwater won't find the right (100%) physical condition until after the international break but he will be getting minutes on the pitch till then. I guess that solves everything, besides his presence (on the bench today) against Bournemouth made Fabregas to do better cos I think Fabregas played well today.
