Have to say for a fan that goes to almost every home game the atmpshere was incredible today! Don't really want to blab on about the referee and linesman (we all share an opinion on them!) , so I won't.
What a performance. Other than the first fifteen minutes we completely outclassed United, and if no-one got sent off we could have seriously embarrased them in the last half hour. Our attitude, work rate, spirit and character is just class. On this performance we're the team to beat and fairly not like today. Cant' wait till Wednesday, we'll show 'em! Up the Blues!

Clattenberg is absolute disgrace and embarrassment. He gave his usual "I want to be the star of the show" performance. Unfortunately it cost us 3 points. No issue with Ivan's red but Torre's was insane. Sad part was if you look at replay he was right there and still blew the call. It's sad as they want to hold players accountable and that's great but until refs are held to same level the gong shows will continue. The fact this ref suffers no consequences is a disgrace. He himself should be missing some games and put under further review.

Also who noticed Shrek's shove on Ramires when he broke away? That is a blatant shove and a foul worthy of a yellow card. Which would have totted up to a red. But Clattenburg failed to spot that. Conveniently it was stopped so Whisky-nose could substitute on Hernandez. But Rooney should have been off. With the Torres foul, he was sent off for being fouled. Didn't realise the rulebook had been ammended to suit whisky and co. again. And conveniently, this stopped us bringing on Sturridge earlier. Valencia's simulation warranty a real booking. Same with Van Pussy's simulation, when Cahill fouled him i was looking forward to seeing him injured.
Keep the faith lads, still top of the league!

I don't know how we didn't get more players sent off towards the end. My head had completely gone just watching it. If i was playing i don't think i could have stopped myself from putting one on Clattenberg, or at least saying something along the lines of "You Cheating Pr*ck, you're an embarrassment". They did well to keep their heads and stay on the pitch.

Well, we lost and it hurts but we remain Chelsea - the better team. Our lads showed courage and class. Except for a few individual errors, all our lads showed the character of champions. Hopefully, we'll sort a few things out, get to see more of Azpilicueta and Sturidge. Finally, I'm loving every moment of our play, the support from the fans is also great. We are champions, we'll fight till the end, we'll rule again.

As soon as I saw it was Mark clondike burg officiating I knew there was going to be controversy , he guy his the biggest clown around . Chelsea must complain about him , he costs us dearly today with his bias and poor display

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I fully agree, said samething myself. This ref only interested in being the star of the show!! He barely ever refs a game where there is not some sort of major controversy. Until refs are held accountable for their performances the gong show will continue. Sad however when it could cost teams the championsip.

With it being the Capital Cup this week I would like to see the following changes, Cole, Mikel, Oscar, Mata, Torres Rested, And Bertand, Ceaser, Romeu, Marin, Moses given a run out.
One Bomb Tom

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Go further. Cech, Hazard, Luiz, Ramires...they all need a rest. I think we should rest as many of our senior players as possible and play almost entirely young second team as we have far more important games to worry about in near futre than the Capital One Cup.

Forest fan here.Idisagree with the other poster about Ibranovic's sending off.I think Young was l;ooking to go down the second he got the ball.Your player tried not to touch him and Youngs felt a slight touch and thrown himself to the ground.Remember he's got a reputationfor it.No different to Torres incident for me.Clattenburg is awful and I knew he would ruin the game,there was only 1 team going to win it til he intervened.Think you miss JT marshalling the back 4 though.Good luck,I hope you stop those cheating from winning it {Ed018's Note - you could tell on the replay he was already losing his balance and Ivanovic looked like he was trying to get out of the way of making any contact.}

Right here comes my rant lads.

Torres. I have defended him for long enough but if his performances like that are going to cost us big games like that then I hope hes gone by January. He didn't seem to work for the team. His pace, confidence and dribbling were non existent. There was one incident where he took the ball on his chest and just booted it over to the right flank where no one was waiting to pick it up and eventually it was intercepted. All of the Torres defenders will say that 'Torres and Hazard weren't on the same wavelength that's all', but I couldn't see how Torres was in touch of the game all the way throughout. Nobody can say that El Nino didn't have a chance to influence the game because the midfield maestros tried to get him involved in the game as much as they could. Maybe the red card was debatable but to be honest I was glad he was sent off because I think he ruined the game for us in a way. He was completely outshone by a boy half of his price tag. Don't get me wrong I would love him to hit some blistering form and score week in week out but if by January he isn't performing then I hope he gets the cut and we bring in a man by the name of Radamel Falcao...........Now I know that half of you guys will say 'why waste another 50mil on a striker who could possibly flop'. But I say to that 'Falcao WILL perform on any stage, in any league because he is that kind of striker'. He would be way better than Torres because he has crisper movement, better finishing and most importantly CONFIDENCE.
Now the game.........Of course the ref was on United's side. I think Iva deserved to be sent off in all fairness but Ashley Young definitely made the most of it. FT9 was a controversial decision. There was contact. People will say that the ball was away from him but I think he would've gotten to the end of it. And of course that little pea headed **** (sorry ed) was offside for his goal. Clattenburg is a complete dick.

Positives- We went down 2-0 in the first 15 minutes and came back roaring, and, if we had all 11 men, we would've beat the persons. The 3 midfielders were again inspirational........already love them. And finally we are still a point above both Manchester clubs which is a huge morale boost.
See guys it wasn't all that bad.

I'd just like to apologise to Ed for all the swearing but this match reallt P'd me off.

I just don't know what to say. I feel completely flabbergasted we what happened today. As I watched it, I actually thought that Clattenberg was doing it on purpose, and that they weren't mistakes. The FA need to sort this out, poor officiating seems to be occurring a lot nowadays. David Gill should not be allowed to be the Vice-Chairman of the FA board, its just pathetic and ridiculous.

But we're still top, we're Champions of Europe and I honestly think we'll win the league this year!

Just wondering at what point man u wil get investigated for their relationship with officials, its just too ovious to be over looked. If it was in italy man u would av been in the lower leagues by now. I av never been happier this season with the spirit of the team, d figthing spirit was authoritative. Even some of my united friends werent happy with d officiating. Please for those of u who have slated mikel frm today pls show some respect for his relentless work. Just wouldnt want a repeat of this kind of officiating ever again in this exciting league

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Yes, I think Mikel showed huge courage and determination today, as he did for the European CL final. We were beaten because of one atrocious decison -- to book Torres for a dive -- and failure of linesman to spot Hernandez in off side position when pass first made. That £$*! Little Pea is always offside. What Berkshire Bankers, him, the ref, the linesman and nasty Van P. VBS

Keep you chins up & hopefully get revenge at Mould Gashford when you play them. We were on the wrong end of the linesman's dodgy decision today. What a coincidence it was Taggart's Lap Dog - Moyes who was influencing them!
Scouse Red.

Damn right ScouseRED. Suarez was clearly onside and hernandez wasn't as usual and Man U get the GOAL. Officials just seem to be getting worse and worse, i think many of them should get the CHOP, if we behaved like many of them do in our jobs we'd have gotten the sack by now RIGHT.

WHAT A F##KING JOKE!!

That game was an embarrassment for the officials, f**king embarrassment! If United think their gonna win the league then they are deluded, they are miles off us. Without the decisions we would have won that game by a couple of goals, we were dominating them and their only hope was RVP. They caught us cold for the first 25 mins, after that they had nothing. David Luiz once again showed how much heart he's got, i don't care if he was caught out of position today a few times, he never stopped and still beleived we could get a result with 9 men. The commentator said near the end that credit to United for exploiting us after the sendings off. He must be having a laugh because they only just beat us, and that was with an offside goal!

Putting aside the result, theres a few positives that have come out of today.

1 - We are 100% capable of winning the league.

2 - We will get to see Sturridge and Cesar get a run.

3 - We've shown that even without Didier, Lamps and JT, we still have plenty of heart when things go against us, we don't shrink away.

4 - We're much better than United.

5 - When things like this happen to Chelsea we always come together and come out fighting.

Once things have settled, putting the result aside, i know which supporters should be the happiest. And its not the ones supporting the team who's manager has the referees bo**ocks in his hand.

OsgoodIsKing

Believable10 Unbelievable6

Ummm, dominating? We're you asleep during the first 38mins? 7mins at the end of the first half and about 10 at the start of second. Defensively you looked shocking , first red card was a definite , Torres prob not worthy of a sending off and Hernandez goal offside but had he not been given that do you honestly believe utd would not have pushed for that goal given we were against 9 men. At 3-2 utd needed to do no more. Honestly it's astounding how one sided fans get. Richly - swindon fan (unfortunately)

i can maybe understand the ivanovic sending off it was last and and clatternburg didnt have the greatest view he was behind them both so many ref's would of given it

as for torres going over evans i have nothing too say about that and a blind man without his guide dog could see hernandez was offside

30th minute onwards we absolutely bossed that game and even down too 9 men we didnt look like struggleing too badly

shocking referring but on the bright side azpil and sturridge get a chance now and even with 9 men we could still hold our own in a sense, still top of the league and by far the best team in the league this year

Wow. I just wow. Clattenburg is a disgrace! How was that a sending off for Torres! That official completely ruined a fantastic open game. Hernandez's goal was offside! He was behind Czech! You can't get anymore offside then that unless your playing from the stands. Unbelievable. We could have won that game very easily and we didn't because of deplorable officiating. I'm completely disgusted. Proud of our team for never giving up though that has to be said. We never hung our heads and still tried to attack. That my friends is a prime example of Fergie's power over officials in this league. He should go to the Serie A, this match-fixing business would suit him.

Before everyone starts giving off, we're still in the game and should be level but the luck has not went our way. A very slack start. We need to be careful on the counter attack from them. I believe in the system and I'm not going to slate Mikel but for it to work we need another midfielder alongside Rameires with a similar style. Both midfielders need to have real pace to get back and that is Mikels real downfall which stops him from being top class at what he does and is needed to complete the team Keep supporting the lads
