Use our rumours form to send us chelsea transfer rumours.

28 May 2011 21:58:31
Everyone seems to lose their heads as soon as the season finishes. . I read that there's going to be a "mass clear out" at Chelsea every summer. There won't be. Fans backing rumours of Drogba to leave are a bit mad too, aren't they?! He's been an absolute force for us and you cannot question his passion for the club, just refer back to when we got knocked out of the CL in 08/09 against Barcelona. He cares. Trying to kick him out just because we've got Torres and a young Brazilian shouting off about wanting to play for us is ridiculous. Malouda isn't going. Lamps and JT will be in the 11 come the opening day too. I think a lesson has been learnt from last year, getting rid of Belletti, Deco, J Cole and Ballack. So sending our bigger names to different clubs in reality, is unlikely. Yes, by all means expect comings and goings. But players that were in our starting eleven this year, won't be shipped out. That's just basic, common sense to me?! Who'll come in? I don't know. Sturridge is back and he wants to play, Neymar wants to move to the Bridge, Torres has a point to prove, Drogba is our main man, and Anelka is reliable. So, let's hope we don't do a Man City and splash out on players we don't need. Get a few quality players in, strengthen the depth of the squad, let a few fringe players go, and bring up the likes of McEachran to let them show what they've got. As for the managers job, wait and see. Seems obvious, again. There's a crucial match next week. Turkey lose that, then expect something to be announced. It seems likely that's what it is all pending on. Would love to see Hiddink back. But blimey, some of you Blues fan are absolutely crazy.

------------------------------------------
And your the craziest. Nobody said we need a mass clear out. We need 3-5 young good players. If you want to continue on with the team we have with all these guys being a year older I can promise you we won't compete for any trophy next year.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Yeah I agree with the second guy in that post. If you think that we can compete with a majority of the guys we had this season returning, you're delusional. Ancelotti may have been part of the problem (he did name the starting XI and made the substitutions), but the fault lays mainly with the players. Unless the "over 30's" sell their souls to the devil or find a fountain of youth to drink from, don't expect a 180.

Even when we won it was excruciating to watch. Malouda has to be on the top of any list of players to run out of town. Shadow of the player he was (and I don't think that he was ever all that great).

Agree8 Disagree0

Moric, Mata, Neymar, VDW are a must
Cech 1st team
VDW- -Ivanovic- -Luiz- -Cole
McEachran- -Ramires- -Modric
Neymar- -Torres- -Mata

Ivanovic- -Alex- -Terry- -PVA
Essien- -Mikel- -Lampard
Sturridge- -Lukaku- -Kakuta

Ins
Mata-20m
Neymar-25m
Modric-25m
VDW-10m
Mallo-5m
Begovic-5m

Out
Anelka(5m) for Neymar
Malouda(5m) for Mata
Benayoun(5m)-For Modric
Bosingwa(8m)- for VDW
Ferreira(1m)- for Mallo
Cork(2m)
Menciene(4m)
This team will dominate and will me Barca like.

Agree1 Disagree7

Terry on the bench?

Agree6 Disagree0

Yep I am sure you know why. He is far too slow. Remember the recent game him and lamps were carded becuase the had no pace to catch the guy. And I dare say I would replace Terry with Bruma or Phil Jones and Lamps with Modric Essien with Josh.

Agree5 Disagree0

Neymar is the most left sided player ive ever seen why does everyone have him on the right

Agree6 Disagree0

Neymar is on the left

Agree0 Disagree4

Ummm no. According to that starting XI in the original post, Neymar is listed on the right.

In real life, yes, he plays on the left for the most part.

Agree4 Disagree0

Dyslexic chelski fans. Just love it.

Ed, is there a need to have a Director of Football at the club this coming season; would the club manage without one?
The club is at a crossroad as far as the squad is concerned and their is a need for an experienced manager to oversee this transition period. .bring new players in, form a new squad etc.
What would make sense to me (depending on next fridays game) is for Hiddink to oversee the transition for the next year (or two) and then move into the Director of Football roll when this is complete. If Van Basten or another young coach could work alongside Hiddink during this period and take over as manager/head coach when Hiddink goes upstairs; this would be ideal in the long term.

{Ed002's Note - There are sufficient advisors to ensure the role is covered for a year.}

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Football is a simple game in essence.

So far as the ownership and management of a club is concerned you need to decide whether it is better to go the route of buying and changing managers and players frequently . .Man City, Real Madrid, etc or whether developing talent and continuity makes more sense. . Barca, Arsenal . . .Chelsea have tended to follow the former route and there may be a fork in the road ahead. . one way may lead to the cliff edge

Ask yourself which model would you rather have. . Barca or Real. . then hope your club follows the correct path

Be sure that the EPL is going to have some very strong sides and some of them have got their satnavs fixed on the road ahead

Ed, you have referred to a plan A of Chelsea wanting a particular manager next summer. A) do you know who that someone is? B) is it Guardiola? {Ed004's Note - I don't know, and the other Ed is not around}

Believable0 Unbelievable5

I put him there because he can kick the ball with his both feet. And Mata is right footed, He likes to assist a lot so putting him on the left would make more sense.

Agree0 Disagree4

Guardiola can kick with both feet?

I think that you replied to the wrong post mate.

Manager:hiddink
No 2:Zola
Cech
Cole
Terry
Luiz
Vdw
Essien
Ramires
Lampard
Neymar
Torres
Aguero
Would also like to see sneijder to possibly replace lampard

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Get rid of essien tho, hes been poor all season. .

Agree1 Disagree8

The whole squad was poor, I can't believe we finished second.we have no width and rely on our defence to pull us out of trouble.essien is a machine, I would rather see lampard go, plus essien just recovering from a bad injury

Agree8 Disagree0

Get rid of essien you must be mad the bloke covers every inch of grass in a game he is the midfield engine lampard would never get the free role or goals that he does without essien

Agree8 Disagree0

We need to reaplale Essien and Lamps and Terry too he is just too slow.

Hiddink+Zola
Cech
VDW- -Ivanovic- -Luiz- -Cole
McEachran- -Ramires- -Modric
Neymar- -Torres- -Mata

This team has pace and very unpredictable.

Agree1 Disagree8

Even though I agree that they've somewhat lost it, I don't think that we need to get rid of Lamps or Terry just yet. Just diminish their roles somewhat. Give them a Giggs/Scholes type of role. If they complain then try to sell them. No player is bigger than the club, especially when they've slipped in form (because of age).

ed when do chelsea want there transfers done {Ed002's Note - I don't really understand the question. If is about being early or late in the window, please don't bother asking.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Obviously they'd like to get them done as soon as they can. But that's not how it works

rumours circling chelsea that redknapp is in talks. . .with modric, neymar and van der wiel {Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Please no more Redknapp rumours. He is not gonna be managing Chelsea. . . Ever

Making reknapp manager would be a worse appointment than scolari.
At this point, I would be amazed if hiddink, didn't take the post for a year or two, with Zola has coach.
This isn't plan A, but it is the only option at this stage. Hiddink would then move upstairs.

Would these be some discrepancies you talk about ED
Hiddink to lose turkey qualifier on Friday (making it more difficult to qualify for euro 2012
Guardiola to win champions league again (job done needs a new challenge)
New management team of guardiola and hiddink upstairs with Zola as peps number 2
Am I even close to plan A {Ed004's Note - Imo, plan A involves Mourinho}

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Has plan A now failed then as mourinho has said he's staying in Madrid.what's to say hiddink for one year and we line up mourinho for the season after that. But what if he changes his mind, we would then be stuck were we are now

Agree0 Disagree8

From what I understand plan A was for Mourinho to come in as manager next year after Ancelotti leaves due to his ending contract, also it was expected for Frank Arnesene to leave after next year and a new director of football to be brought in. Obviously Ancelottis early departure as well as Arnesenes means that there are changes to be made to the plan. There could be minimal changes if Hiddink agrees to be manager for one year and there be no director of football and then the following year he moves to director of football and Mourinho comes in as the manager.

I have been told by a Championship club CEO that Harry will become Chelsea manager, it might just be conjecture, but he was adamant. I'm a Liverpool fan, but I think this might be why you are in the transfer market, Old Dodgy Harry's already getting the wheels in motion for a load of money making transfers! Spurs won't spend this year, so he could be at the Bridge

Ed, what time do you stay awake til. I'm over here in the USA and your still responding at 11:30 your time. Plus it sucks for me not getting many updates during my evening hours. I should just move to London already and be done with it {Ed002's Note - It depends where in the US you are. I am a west coast guy and consider tje folks on the east coast ay too strung out.}

Haha. I'm in Ohio. I don't feel to strung out yet but maybe after a few more pints I'll be

Believable0 Unbelievable5

I agree with the Ohio dude I am from Canada across the street from him. I hate when I don't get the updates:(

Charlie Adam would be an excellent signing! Goal scoring midfielder with a deadly free kick! Not forgetting "his corners are worth 10m alone"

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Yes I agree, but not as a starter.

Agree0 Disagree8

Exactly why he would never come to Chelsea. He wants to play regularly plus we aren't even remotely linked to him. Let the scousers have him they need to make sure they can finish 6th again

Agree5 Disagree1

Good idea, then we can sell him to you next season for 50m like we did with the other crock, ynwa

Ynwa - you'll never win again
