Having read a few threads on potential managerial appointments at Chelsea, I would like to share my opinion. Names such as Enrique, Allegri, Sarri, Ancelotti, Tuchel, Jardim etc have all been mentioned and they all raise different hopes and ambitions.
For me it's a big moment in our clubs history. This is the opportunity to change our footballing philosophy and the structure. Not only do we need a manager but we will also need a sporting director. We need the two to work in tangent and believe in the philosophy.
We have to stay away from Allegri at all costs, we do not need a manger that is just as defensive as Conte or maybe more. Ancelotti is not happening. Personally I am not a fan of Enrique. Stay away!
For me it has to be either Tuchel or Sarri. Both of them like counter pressing high up the pitch and like controlling possession with shorter passes with Tuchel liking the diagonal balls. Tuchel likes a high defensive line And likes to retain possession in certain areas of the pitch to get the opposition moving before whipping the ball to an area where there is a lot of space for a quick attack. Maybe it is very expansive but if we can get the correct players then maybe the philosophy works.
For me Tuchel is probably the best option out there and maybe the easiest one for Chelsea. Sarri would be hard to get from Napoli.
