is it just me, or does torres look depressed and unhappy on the pitch?

Believable7 Unbelievable3

He's used to getting better service obviously.

It's ironic that Malouda's best is always reserved for when he's partnered with Drogba, but he can't seem to hold onto the ball, or makes sideways passes to Cole when Torres is in there with him.

Just proves that this current squad was built for a Drogba type player and not a player of Torres qualities (or Malouda is purposely trying to make Torres look bad haha.)

Agree0 Disagree0

I couldnt agree more

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny u should say that since day 1 I thought Malouda had something against Torres he really is awful when Torres is on the pitch, he doesn't pass he losses the ball and he is very selfish hmmm makes me wonder is there unrest in the squad with the French speaking players? I know there was a rumour about it. If so get them out

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless we sign several flair players we are going to get nothing from Torres.

Agree0 Disagree0

Malouda is one of Drogba's biggest buddies. When Nando was signed, I'm sure that Didier considered the Spaniard a threat to his own playing time. Enter Malouda, "coming to his friends aide" (which probably isn't too far from the truth). I wouldn't put it past him trying to sabotage Torres' stay at the Bridge. For some strange reason, which completely baffles me (blackmail maybe?), Malouda is a starting XI choice week in and week out. He feels invincible, so he consistently hogs the ball, or completely ignores Torres when he's wide open in the 6 yard box without fear of repercussion.

Notice how Malouda becomes the most generous player on Earth when Drogba and Kalou are up front with him?

There is obviously a clique at the squad, Drogba being the ringleader with Malouda as his lieutenant. I'm sure that Lampard, Cole, and maybe even Terry are members as well. They must influence the board. The crazy amount of sacked managers over the past 4 - 5 years probably is no coincidence.

Enough conspiracy theories, but the power of the players at our beloved Chelsea is scary. {Ed002's Note - THis is course is rubbish - but funny enough to post.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish to you maybe, but there probably is *some* truth to it. You can't deny that certain opinionated players at the club hold sway. {Ed002's Note - Yopu clearly do not understand the club or the players at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's why not ask the Chelsea fans what they think regarding Malouda and Torres, do a vote on your page. With the Question being:

Does Malouda deliberately ignore/sabotage Torres when they play together? yes or no, Or something like that.

I bet 90% say Yes he does

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, malouda and kalou dont want anything to do with torres, dint see them even once trying to play him.
something is not right.

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be they arent serving the ball to torres because he hasent proven himself as a finisher like drogba. but they will never know if they dont try...

Agree0 Disagree0

There not passing to him because he's a sulky little girl Get a grip guy's he cost 50 mil for that he should make a difference. Oh nobody likes him....do you believe this rubbish?

Aguero signed a 5 year deal at Manchester City and will have over 225,000 a week

ed so we get no one apart from a youngster from barca
mcity improve
man u improve
liverpool improve
and people still say were good enough 2 win league {Ed018's Note - and theres 5 weeks left in the transfer period, come back then and panic if we still havent signed anyone}

Ed do you expect us to at least test Man City with an offer for Johnson or is it worth it considering they wouldn't sell the player to a rival? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea - is he for sale?}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

I just heard reports of us being interested in him but I was wondering if he was available would we consider making an offer Ed?thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL How would Ed know if we would make an offer for a player, even if he was available.

Lots of players are available at any given time. Only those close to Roman know if we will make an offer for them.

Hey Ed , Will Chelsea make a bid for Porto striker Hulk? {Ed002's Note - Probably not.}

27 Jul 2011 21:12:25
yossi benayoun was the best player on the pitch against kichee and sturridge was good when he came on i think we should play both of them this season

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Sturridge has potential, but he's too greedy. he wont even try to cross a ball. he just twists and turns until he can make a few inchs to swing his left hammer. (very annoying)

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more with the 2nd poster. Sturridge has promise, but he only plays for himself and not the team. He acted the same with City before he jumped over to us. He wouldn't think twice about leaving us for a starting role up front by himself.

It's bad enough that Malouda is greedy om the left. If Sturridge does the same thing on the right we won't even need a striker in the middle.

I had to post something to all the people saying how can Chelsea let someone of Aguero's quality go to Man City, a big rival.

It's simple, Aguero wants a ridiculous amount of money in wages and that is something that Chelsea are just not willing to offer. It's alrite saying sell Malouda, Kalou and others to free up the space for wages, but then what happens when Aguero gets injured first game of the season and is out for the season? There is no-one to fill in.

You have to be realistic and stop moaning about the fact that Aguero is signing for Man City, they were going to sign some massive players at some point with all the money they are throwing around.

Chelsea are looking at buying players and we will obviously get some. Most of you guys are so impatient it's unbelievable, we still have a long time to go in the transfer window, so just sit back, relax and wait and see what happens.

If it comes to the end of the transfer window and we still haven't signed someone, then you can moan, but for now just relax and be patient.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

"...what happens when Aguero gets injured first game of the season and is out for the season? There is no-one to fill in."

Zhirkov, who rightly should have the job over Malouda in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

By saying that you don't get the point I am trying to make.

You cannot sell 3 or 4 players, so that you can use their wages on 1 player. It would weaken the team a huge amount

Agree0 Disagree0

I get the point that you're trying to make. You seem to be under the assumption that Malouda and/or Kalou are the only players in the squad who play their respective positions. I'm saying that we have others who can readily fill in, or imho are better and deserve to be there instead. Unless you really think that Malouda is the only person capable of playing LW?

I believe that you can rid yourself of 3 - 4 players wages for 1 player. But it depends on many things (position that they play, their value to the team as of right now, do we have youngsters/reserves ready to move in as a back up...) Do you really think that Chelsea would sell 3 - 4 strikers just to replace them with Aguero? I doubt it. They would weed out an expendable defender, midfielder, or what have you.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd still have Benayoun, Sturridge, Kakuta, Drogba, Anelka, and ofcourse Torres. Aswell as Aguero, thats 7 great attacking forwards, not to mention a great blend of youth and experience. I was one of the posters that questioned Chelsea's lack of commitment in the pursuit of Aguero for a simple reason. He is better than Kalou and Malouda put together and times a thousand. The fans are concerned because when you see your club not strengthening when they have to, and keeping players on like Lampard who gets 130k plus a week what do you expect us to do??

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree. The only other "top" side in the league who have done nothing is Spurs. Even Arsenal brought in Gervinho. Despite what people think about Liverpool, at least they're trying to improve and not resting on their laurels. The Manc' clubs improvements go without saying. If AVB continues to start the senior citizens and play them 90 minutes a week, we'll struggle to get a CL spot for '13.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if you sold a defender, a midfielder and a striker that wern't needed, you are still weakening the team, and if the rumours are correct and Aguero is on over 200k at Man City then selling 3/4 players (im talking about players like Ferreira, Kalou, Malouda, etc...) you are only just going to cover his wages.

While I think Aguero is an incredible player, and would have been a massive signing for Chelsea, I am glad that Chelsea didn't sign him with his wage demand so high. If you offer one player over 200k, what do the other players think? will they want a pay raise to match? what will new players coming in want in wages? it goes on...

Fair enough if he had signed for Man City on like 100-150k week, then I would have been annoyed that we didn't sign him, but the fact that he is getting paid over 200k makes me glad that we didn't sign him.

We have to accept, we cannot compete with Man City financially.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Aguero should have been our main prority, we need to strengthen as we have been piss poor for a while and it will only get worse as the other clubs around us are buying quality players.

Agree0 Disagree0

My issue isnt Aguero - thought I'd have loved to see him come to us - it is the lack of transfere activity.

I know there are 5 weeks left in the Transfere window BUT, only 2 or so until the start of the season. While I could wait for one "top class" signing to come late in august we still need 2-3 other class players IMO, and they needed bedding in before the season started. For me 1 Aug is the deadling for all but one world class player. if monday comes and no sign of a winger, a creative mid and a CB/RB (one or the other) Ill not be happy.

I have not felt this low as a Blues fan for a while, to watch all your rivals make strides and improve, excite, spend etc. And then for our club to do nothing. Why are the club not listening to the fans, it is obvious we are tired of the way we play, the players we have, the players we don't have. Just some commitment, some......ANYTHING to be honest I can not go another season watching us play worse football than Stoke, lose to Liverpool, and then when Malouda scores a tap in against Doncaster or someone, start doing a dance at the corner flag with Drogba. What can we do to get the message across??

Believable7 Unbelievable0

"and then when Malouda scores a tap in against Doncaster or someone..."

Thank you I'm glad that I'm not the only one who notices that Malouda gets most of his goals against lower quality teams, or makes nice passes against such "giant beaters" as Kitchee SC Of course when his man-crush supporters see him do well against inferior clubs they try to make their case to sign this muppet for another 3 years. I don't even care if we keep Kalou anymore, just please get rid of this clown

Agree0 Disagree0

Good question m8, but im with ya all the way

The transfer market has been open for 27 days, with a full month at least before this to eye up potential targets and prepare/discuss potential deals. A possible and realistic scenario we could have been looking at by now is this:

In
Charles N'zogbia (£9.5 million) - he is worth a lot more than this, 11 goals for Wigan is some going, he would have been a great signing, squad player but maybe even a potential starter, better than malouda and kalou by a long way And an interesting fact, the only player to complete more dribbles than him in Europe last season was Lionel Messi i honestly do not understand why we didn't even make an approach?
David Hoilett - 20 years old and already a regular starter at Blackburn with 6 goals last season isn't bad, technically superb. He is literally the exact type of player we are supposedly looking for, young, technically superb, attacking winger/striker, potential, premier league experience, again to not even ask or make an approach is strange.
Mata (£20million) - Winger, young, quality, experienced....again why have we not tied this deal up?
Adam Johnson - I think this is going to happen but by now it could have and maybe should have already happened?
Sergio Aguero - Why o why did we not pay the extra fee to sign him, instead we let MC sign him, biggest mistake of the summer for me. I honestly can not even watch it on because it depresses me to know we would not pay the extra for him.

These are just 5 players that fit the exact bill of the type of player we are 'supposedly' looking at, all young, skillful, quality, game changers, experienced, attackers. Even if we would have bought them all it would have cost roughly £100 million which is not a lot for 5 quality players. Get rid of Zhirkov, Malouda, Kalou, Drogba and Anelka and we recoup roughly £50 million and free up the space. I understand that not of all these would have happened, its just an example of the possibility that every one of the things i have suggested could 100% have happened if we pushed it.
At the moment i am very dis-heartened and am not looking forward to the coming season, how can any Chelsea fan when all our rivals have strengthened and after our worst season since Abramovich took over, we don't change anything with less than a month to go before our first game? If anyone can think of a reason why i'm wrong please tell me because i honestly do not know. Sorry for the negativity, but we were the best under Mourinho, we should no longer be happy with second best.

Message for the Chelsea faithfulc

Our club is not showing the type of commitment it should be to bringing in some quality. I watched Kalou, Malouda, Lampard today on , and trust me dont be fooled by the scoreline as it flatters Chelsea big time. Torres come on 63rd minute and recieved zero service yet again, I was falling asleep through most of the game I was that bored. When you see a team performing like this and players like Aguero become available that can help us improve, and the club does not attempt to move on him, one word, Disgusting

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Did you sleep to see Sturridge performance?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the original poster here. I didn't sleep through Sturridge's performance - BUT - I'm also intelligent enough to realise who we were playing against. Even Malouda looked better than he usually does. But it's really not hard to look good when you're playing a club that's probably no better than the Seattle Sounders. This tour is obviously for the supporters in SE Asia and to make money, because it surely doesn't help us prepare for the regular season other than getting exercise. Look at Barca's pre-season schedule and who they're playing (Bayern as I type). Our strongest opponents will be Villa.

But of course in every forum on the net I'm seeing posts from delusional supporters lauding Malouda, and that we should stand pat and not buy anyone because of our recent results against the High School teams...

Agree0 Disagree0

I was awake for the Sturridge goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 16:40:48
What have we learnt from our Asia tour not much really same old story we struggle to break teams down we keep possession for long periods but far too many sideward passes, defence looks as strong as ever but a right back must be bought Bosingwa ventures forward and does not get his foot stuck in and is beaten far too often.Benayoun is my player of pre season at the moment the only player who is willing to run at defences and take people on, Lampard will also get goals but far too often shoots from 30-40 yards and blazes over a simple pass would be fine Malouda Kalou Zhirkov Anelka need to go far to slow and make so many stupid decisions, Torres looks sharp but is missing something infront of goal however on so many occasions he has been available in the box and people have shot or played a poor pass What we need is a right back a playmaker and a winger

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, what the f*** are chelsea playing at letting Aguero go City A major rival next season for certain Wheres the commitment to bringing in the creativity

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 14:33:23
Looking at our starting XI for our game today just do t really fill me with much hope of winning the champions league or league next season, and I think we need 4 players, don't think one or two would be enough, pastore as creative midfielder moutinho as good passer to break thongs up and start things up again hulk desperatly just because he would be perfect and Mata or affelay for width speed young and not mega expensive like hulk and pastore,

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Sturridge the only spark there

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant believe the club are even thinking of sending studge on loan. Great goal today, in my opinion he should be 1st choice this year playing from the right

Agree0 Disagree0

The score line flattered us, we were terrible no creativity what so ever, Malouda, Kalou, Lampard all still the same players what is AVB waiting for?

Agree0 Disagree0

"The score line flattered us, we were terrible no creativity what so ever, Malouda, Kalou, Lampard all still the same players what is AVB waiting for?"

Agreed

And to the guy who feels as if Sturridge shouldn't be loaned out - wait until we see how we look against a team who can actually defend. It was way too easy for Sturridge and Malouda today. I doubt that they will be given that much room against even Stoke City.

This pre-season is not helpful for AVB to assess any players, and I hope that he's intelligent enough to see how our competition will make even a U-17 look good.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 14:28:45
Watching the match kitchee vs chelsea and we are playin like a group of playas not as a TEAM.we really need creativity n pace in this present team.AVB quit assessing this team and get us d playas 2change this awful style of play

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Terrible wasnt we, score line flattered us. such a boring performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

I literally caught myself dozing a few times in the 2nd half. This super easy pre-season schedule is probably going to bite us in the bum later on - especially if AVB is duped into believing that existing deadwood deserve another season in a blue shirt because they look "better" than usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 14:10:50
Watching the Kitchee v Chelsea how obvious is it that Malouda, Kalou, Zhirkov are not good enough for our side they need to go and we need to get width urgently

Believable6 Unbelievable1

But to be honest the other 8 players are making up for them. They are actually playing decently.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you entirely and it hurts alot to see J.Mata being linked to Arsenal and Spurs at very low price.... after two season CFC will want to buy him at x3 the price...

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea have strengthened already with Torres, Luiz and Ramires but it's clearly not enough for what the club wants to achieve Roman needs to go out and get a pair of wingers, an attacking midfielder maybe even 2 and a right back Why are we letting Aguero go City aswell all Chelsea have to do is agree to his wage demands and then a deal will be reached Theres no commitment by the club being shown what so ever. We are still the same old boring team as last year I literally do start yawning when I watch us play.

Agree0 Disagree0

Strengthening with Torres will never be enough if he has no one (other than Yossi) willing to give him decent support.

I have no clue why AVB even played him today (against Kitchee), considering the 2 guys flanking him (Sturridge/Kalou) are more concerned with earning a spot in the side. People will go on and on about Sturridge's goal, but they'll fail to mention that he was as greedy as Malouda. {Ed002's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 09:01:22
if chelsea are looking for a CAM, they should consider Nene the brazilian from psg he's very creative and skillfull and wouldnt cost as much as modric and pastore, on the wing we should go for mata he's still only young and would partner up well with torres, also with essien being injured we should go for vidal he brakes up the play really well and can provide a goal scoring opitunity now and again. finally i think that chelsea need a right back that can actually defend as well as go forward this matches the discription of vdw who i think is a must.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Vidal has gone to juventus

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't understand why people think we need a RB so much as ivanovic was probably our best player last season plus he is not slow also scores a couple of goals from set plays.what we need is wingers badly

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he does'nt bring as much pace and trickery going forward as much as say a VDW would.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is BS Chelsea really needs RM or RW. RB&LB even LW position is covered more than well.
Some people do not understand diference between RB&RM or RW.
By the way VDW is zero RB comp.to Bosingwa do not even try to cmpare him with Ivanovic who was the best RB in EPL for last two seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether RB is "covered" is not the point. I could be on the roster (I played RB years ago), but would you want to start me? Ivan is our best "defending" RB, but he adds barely any width at all. His crosses are slightly better than Bossman's. Sure he can get back to defend, but with our current formation (central striker as RW's), we need a proper marauding RB.

Agree0 Disagree0

"...even LW position is covered more than well."

Malouda? Are you serious?

Agree0 Disagree0

"...even LW position is covered more than well."

Malouda? Are you serious?

Malouda and Kalou are terrible and you must be blind if you think otherwise
