I cannot understand Sky Sport objectivity these days. Neil Quinn was slaughtering Chelsea and at the same time referring to us as Celtic. Redknapp and Henry did not spare Costa. For cry out loud the guy was trying to pick the ball. They finally nailed Costa by saying neither the referee nor the linesman saw it and that calls for a concern. To me, that is calling for a retrospective punishment. There camera wouldn't show Manu or Liverpool player doing the same. I was expecting to see more of Lucas and Skrtel clips but it never arrived.

We all hate celtic:)! Glad were through to the final hopefully a league and cup double! wouldn't mind the champs league either!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - we sure do. Hope Ed007 doesn't read this}

We all hate Celtic? I take it your another unfortunate Rangers fan trying to cling on to Chelsea's success because your club died and you have an apparent association?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - take this to the Rangers or Celtic page. This is the lat post for this thread}

Hazard, courtois, Costa were superb tonight but Zouma was incredible! Absolute unit!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Zouma, Zouma, Zouma

Agree0 Disagree0

Rami looked sharp tonight aswel, glad to see him back to normal

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires didn't look that sharp. He spurned two pretty good opportunities. Fully expect him to leave in the summer.

If only Ramires could shoot!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramires did look sharp - getting around the pitch - and he's never been great at scoring (apart from the blissful lob against Barca).

Great performance overall. Hope the extra time doesn't show on the weekend against City. But regardless, very happy to be in a final. Zouma today showed he can certainly do well against a pacy 'striker'. Would have to see how he does against a more physical drogba-esque striker, but for me he's certainly has shown his potential tonight. Courtois was fantastic in the first half and kept us in the game.
Wembley here we come, and hopefully our first trophy this season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very good performance by the team. On top of quality on the ball they also showed tremendous desire to win this game. Fantastic response after the Bradford debacle.
And indeed, special mentions to Zouma and Courtois who were very good. Zouma showed he can be a regular contributor, especially when playing next to Terry.
Also, Ramires was excellent when he came on. Defensively we looked extremely solid with him and Matic in the middle. I'd expect to see him again on Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - very glad to see Zouma is up for a big match. Was very happy with him tonight}

Looked a little uneasy at times during the first half but picked it up in the 2nd :)
God I enjoyed that game, great end to end stuff at times!

The defence opened up a bit worryingly a couple of times in the first half, but was much better after that. A deserved victory in the end. I'm glad Slippers didn't score otherwise we would never had heard the last of it!

Extremely important victory! We did it! Liverpool is the most difficult opponent that we have. But most of you will realise that on Saturday!

Great performance in the second half, pity we didn't score. It was obvious that Fabregas wasn't fully fit.Matic and Hazard another great performance.Also Oscar was really good.

I've got no clue why, but Coutinho always seems to dribble past every Chelsea player like they're not even there. It's crazy how he always does it against us.
On a different note, let's hope Fabregas and Luis are alright. Luis was playing well IMO and Fab is soooo important to our attacking play.
And oh yeah Aron, think Courtois is proving us right in thinking he's got little weaknesses :) great game from him through the first 90

Last season for Ivanovic. He has passed it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note -not sure about that, although I'd like to see more of Azpilicuetta and Luis as fullbacks}

Take your words back!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done Barry :) by saying he was past it you realised a reverse jinx and made him score! Well done!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst Hazard et al are great dribblers, we need to pass into space more on the counter rather than trying to dribble from our own half to counter.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2015 21:10:30
Henderson had to go for that!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed

Agree0 Disagree0

Felt the ref was very lenient in regards to the Liverpool players during the first 90 minutes. When Can pushed Hazard over, is that not the same as Iva pulling Sterling back? Whilst Costa was involved in a few altercations, I'm shocked that Liverpool finished with 11 men on the pitch. Should have been down to 10 or even 9 imo. But in the end it doesn't really matter!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 20:39:31
How does Skrtel get away with these things?! I honestly can't believe it. Last week he tries to decapitate Costa and now a crystal clear penalty. He's just a thug on a football pitch

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2015 20:45:03
Who cares about that, we need thugs in football, I'm more concerned about our right Willian and Ivanovic!! Can't defend ATM and can't attack!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - spot on}

Another foul on the edge of the box by him and nothing given.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 21:39:02
Euhm I care about that. Had we gotten that penalty, perhaps we wouldn't have to play an extra 30 minutes right before our game against City.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - euhm?}

Never mind, Ed :)

Poor ref decision already.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd really like to punch Niall Quinn square on the nose!

Agree0 Disagree0

Was 110% a pen. We were pretty solid defensively, and the desire on show has been second to none but we need to improve in the final third. Some of our passes/shots have been poor. Our link up play hasn't clicked yet, and it'll need to if we want to get something out of the match.

Agree0 Disagree0

We played much better than in the first game. Ref is killing us.Hope will go through!

Agree0 Disagree0

What is this ref smoking?!? Bottled it twice!

No schurrle and Salah tonight interesting

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They've been out of the squad for a lot of games these past few weeks. Indeed you could say it's interesting, but it could just as well be an injury to Schurrle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect you have seen the end of at least one, probably both, in a Chelsea shirt.}

They've both been given ample opportunities to break into the starting 11 but I guess they don't quite cut it, good luck to both of they do indeed move on.

Does that mean there has been developments with Fiorentina for Cuadrado Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the point of selling 2 players that hardly play to buy another 2 players that will hardly ever play. Reus or a young player with potential please!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - Cuadrado is an upgrade on Willian.}

Marginal at best just think neither will improve the team that much.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - Willian offers very little going forward playing out wide. I know he works hard and all that but he's really not a right winger. Maybe he'd be better off playing centrally}

Thanks for the input, Ed. It'd make me sad to see Schurrle go though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't personally rate Willian as I think his passing and speed of play as well as finishing let him down badly. I do think we need a new winger but don't think the people we seem to be going for are the answer. If Chelsea had an idea that we might need to upgrade wingers why oh why not go for Sanchez in the summer.

Seems like Mourinho Is having a bit of faith in Zouma and Luis!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Zouma getting trusted in quite a big game. I'm pretty sure Mourinho really want the win so it's a good sign for Zouma. Hoping he can give a good performance!

Gerrard loan to chelsea (similar to lamps) couldn't happen could it?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's be honest, it would be his only real chance of a premiership winners medal.

Here's hoping we get over Saturday's embarrassment by stuffing the Scousers tonight!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They're going to be well up for it so we need to be on point tonight, we have more than enough quality to destroy them!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe its harsh to say, but everyone talks about getting in all these players, pogba, reus, cuadrado etc - sometimes when I look at performances like again spurs at christmas and Bradford I just want the team we have got to show a bit of desire.

Who wouldn't dream of pulling on the shirt of their team, I myself would love to play rugby for ireland and ulster or football for chelsea and northern ireland but alas, I don't have the talent so these ambitions and dreams will never happen for me.

the players we have, on the money they are on with the talent they have should do better, . i'm not saying we will win or should win every game but in those few games where we have been beat I think a little bit more desire would have gone a long way. In those particular games we were a shambles. We still haven't been beaten by the better team I don't think, In both the cases I mentioned we were terrible. possibly Bradford was one occasion but with a little bit more fight and desire we would have never let a 2 goal lead slip. Perhaps we are comfortable and that needs to be hammered out of the players. Annoys me and infuriates me somewhat but I just wanted to share that. Maybe people disagree, but it raises talking points anyway

Hoping for a good performance and a win tonight!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mou said he did told them the danger in that match before and after first half. He didn't Intend using Fabregas or Hazard. Only if we had keeping them at arm length after 2:0. Football is 90mins. The deed is done already. Complacency has cost us a lot. We are soft. wishing we could as aggressive as Ath Madrid

Is anybody concerned about Courtois inability to get down to his left to save a goal? There seems to be a lot of talk about it and my manchester mates always give me crap about it, but I don't see what they mean?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not in the slightest. Every player has a weakness or perceived weakness - it is the nature of fans to focus on chinks in a players armour and take it the nth degree too!

Courtois has been a little unfortunate with the Kane and Sterling goals, they were pretty much perfectly placed. His positives far outweigh any negatives he may have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Definetely! I maintain my veiw that Courtois is the best keeper in the league, Followed by Lloris and then De Gea.

Just wanted to know peoples veiws on it

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps he hasn't yet got back to the level he maintained at Atletico, but he's been excellent nonetheless. Can't remember many goals where I thought he should've done better.
He's still only half way through his first season in England and he's about 22 years old. He's already excellent and I think we all agree that he'll get even better. We're blessed to have him and I wouldn't trade him for any other keeper in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jan 2015 12:02:31
Atletico were desperate to keep hold of him. That must say something.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Jackson! Wouldn't trade him for anything.

I remember his save to his bottom left off Terry's header last year in semi final of UCL which was a qaulity save so I think he's fine :)

How's your exams going buddy?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's been pretty average so far. 2 bad ones and 3 exams that I should pass in all probability. Had one today and it went pretty well, let's hope it's a good omen for tonight's game :)
I really thought I'd spend less time on here during exams but it's been quite the opposite. Laptop always around, so I've checked the site more than ever the last week or so! Still got one more left on Friday but it's almost over, thank God.

Thanks for asking, man :)
