ake looked at home in cm tonight. another great player on the horizon. not afraid to tackle and rarely caught out of position. {Ed018's Note - he played well but certainly has a ways to go but the future is very bright}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Trouble is you fickle Chelsea fan s want instant success, won't give the kids a chance. they will all move on to a bigger club

Fair play Rafa. You told us exactly what we already knew and told fans to get behind the team. Not himself. The team. Good to finally see some passion, let's get that into encouragement at SW6 for Saturday and beat the Baggies (without their best player of course ;) )
Come on Chels!
EH17
P. S. One game has convinced me Ake is better than Mikel in the pivot role. Like to see more of that this season!

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Totally agree

Ed 002 Given Benitez comments tonight on the radio and to the Press in which he criticised the Board as well as the fans, do you envisage him lasting until the end of the season?
S. S. {Ed002's Note - I am not in the country right now. I have no idea what he or she has said.}

Rafa's hitting out at the club boys. Something's angered him tonight. You should see his comments he's just released!
TcBlue. {Ed018's Note - needs to be gone}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Can you not understand where he is coming from ED? don't you think his job has been made harder by the board and the fans?

Im not his biggest fan but I feel for the guy {Ed018's Note - I tried when he first came on and sure the supporters haven't been behind him and the board, they could screw up a wet dream, so I don't care what they're behind. That being said this is clearly to the point where it's not a good situation at all and we know he will be gone at the end of the season but I'm for him being gone now for the sake of trying to change the morale at the club}

Agree2 Disagree1

The way the board and some fans at home and away games have been during this is not making us media friendly or an attractive club to come to apart from pound signs from a managers perspective. Just depresses me we can't support a manager who wants the club to do well, the board appointed him, if they want to sign songs sign them about RA or the board.

Agree6 Disagree0

Personally I don't know whether to praise him for maning up and saying something or to slate him for what he said!
TcBlue {Ed018's Note - sure his point is correct and I don't fault him for that but it's just not a good situation and its no gonna change, so what do ya do}

Agree1 Disagree0

Problem is Ed who do you bring in now that isn't going to be another interim manager and that is going to change the current fan situation in regards to singing Di Matteo at 16mins? Would an apology to the fans from the board make a difference? Probably not. {Ed018's Note - your right not much you can do now and more than anything it's up to the players to turn this around}

Agree1 Disagree0

The sad fact is that Rafa needs to go at the end of the season. The fans need to leave too and maybe find some supporters to replace them.

Agree8 Disagree2

Look I don't feel our results are entirely Rafa's fault. Do I think the board should have hired him? NO. But the fans have largely contributed to our bad performances by the booing and constant calls for his dismissal. All the negative vibes at the bridge have adversely affected the teams morale which is why we have a better away record than at home. How can the players expect to play with confidence when all they keep hearing is booing. Yes Rafa's made tactical errors in games and a lot of fans hate him but the fact is he was only brought in as an interim manager, so the fans should have just got behind him/team from the start as he was always going to leave in the summer. All the booing and chanting has done, is left us in a precarious position in the league whereby we might not even finish in the top 4 and if performances continue as they have, we could even finish in 6th again. If the fans don't get behind Rafa perhaps we should just let him go now and let Holland be in charge for the rest of the season. The atmosphere and morale will at least change and hopefully just like the end of last season, the players can rally and finish strong.

Agree2 Disagree2

You'll get no complaints from us if you decide to go elsewhere at the end of the season no name.

Melbourne CFC

What a bully you are!

After the rubbish Rafa has put up with since his arrival, just when did you think he would bite back. this outburst may be his way of waking everyone up, to end discord within the squad and to get the true Chelsea supporters to do exactly that and support the club

I know! why don't you ask Roman for a job to hold interviews for the next manager, or do you already have someone in mind? let me guess, JM, by any chance? The chosen one, my backside, RA won't be choosing him, so there goes that nick name!

Agree5 Disagree0

That would be funny if his nickname actually was the "chosen" one.
Lacking in execution a little there.

At last a team selection which makes sense for the competition and the opposition at hand. It took Rafa half the season to make a sensible decision.

Hardly anyone can argue Ake looked fresh and was really alright. Benayoun was ok and so was Ferreira. If we carry these guys, why not play them when you are thin in numbers and crowded in schedule?

It pains to see he just got the courage to do it only at this stage. Hopefully he'll prioritize the top 4 finish seriously and back it not only by words, but by actions as well.

On the other note Oscar is phenomenal, what a player he is growing into. Oh and Luiz and Ake in midfield is just great. What a hair duet!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Haha yeah, ake did sone good tackles and benayoun was alright, Oscar took control, he was brilliant

Agree2 Disagree1

Am I seeing things correctly? a semi positive JG post? Ha

Agree2 Disagree2

3 man midfield of ake, luiz and Fellaini!
The press would love us!

Agree5 Disagree1

OMG can you imagine the wigs and hair cuts around Stamford Bridge : ( with them three in the middle lol

Agree2 Disagree1

That would bring Gullit and Valderrama to manage the club with Those hairdo's back!

JG

Agree1 Disagree0

I would love to see Gullit back at the club in some capacity (not manager) such an understanding of the game and is so well respected.

Pity Torres. Nothing seems to be working well for him at the moment.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Torres has missed a lot of opportunities in the past but looking at how little goals Ba has scored just goes to show that our strikers don't get a lot of service.

Agree2 Disagree2

Drogba didn't struggle

Agree2 Disagree2

Drogba made his own goals, we all know that.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Feb 2013 20:39:54
2 shots and only 52% possession. Doesn't look like we're going to win or even score at this rate. Middlesbrough don't look like scoring either but based of the first half, if one of us are going to win then I'd say it would be them.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Whilst it's nice to see Ake get a game (albeit out of position), neither him nor Ramires are great passers which leaves us either passing it sideways at the back, punting it forward to Torres or Oscar coming deep to collect it.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Disagree don't think ake is tht bad passer of the ball, considering his age and lack of first team football! Not doing to bad tbh!

Agree4 Disagree4

I don't think he's horrible but he's only been passing sideways or backwards. Neither of them are going to be able to get the ball forward quickly to get some momentum into the team.

Agree2 Disagree2

Also didn't say he was playing badly. And just because he's young and lacks football doesn't change the fact that he won't be making any defence-splitting passes.

Agree0 Disagree1

We don't have a lot of guys currently making defense splitting passes. Young or old midfield or defender.

Tk

Agree2 Disagree0

Luiz does when he's played in midfield. Even Lampard at least passes the ball forward sometimes.

Agree0 Disagree3

Ake was excellent tonight when factoring in his age, the game and playing out of position. How many CB's his age could play Cm and do it well and not looking out of place?

Agree2 Disagree1

I never said he played badly at all. I didn't even comment on his performance, merely his skill-set. He played well, tackled well but played simple sideways/backwards passes. I was simply saying that at that point in time, we needed someone who could get the ball forward quicker to get some momentum for the team because we were very ordinary in the first half.

This site is called chelsea rumours yet they don't comment on speculation. Rumours are speculation. {Ed018's Note - who's they? Anyone can comment on any of the speculation. It's not up to the Editors to comment on every last bit of info that gets posted. Why we have to go the ought this every couple of months is beyond me}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Eds are not "they",

LORDS is the word your looking for

We should ship out the old and have an ultra young squad next season like this.

1 Courtios - age 20
2 Delac - age 20
3 Blackman - age 18
4 Azpilicueta - age 22
5 Wallace - age 18
6 Kalas - age 19
7 Chalobah - age 18
8 Ake - age 18
9 Omeruo - age 19
10 Shaw*** - age 17
11 Van Aanholt - age 22
12 Oriol - age 21
13 Wanyama - age 21
14 McEachran - age 19
15 De Bruyne - age 21
16 Oscar - age 21
17 Mata - age 24
18 E Hazard - age 22

Average age: 19. 8

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Yeah and end up like Aston Villa, right? {Ed018's Note - not sure if the team listed out would end up like Villa but it would lack experience and leadership}

Agree6 Disagree0

That would be a very good squad. on FM13!! DJ

Agree3 Disagree1

To be fair I love the idea of bring some of these lot through next season. but we need leaders aswell as experience, terry, cole cech. I think luiz & azpillicueta could be great leaders, but not yet. mceachran, debruyne, challobah, omeruo, lukaku & van aanholt should be in next year. I say van aanholt because bertrand doesn't do it for me. van aanholt has been the best left back in holland all season. BLUEBOY1

Agree2 Disagree1

Take away :
delec for chech.
wallace (loan ) for ivanovic.
ake (loan) for cahill.
oriol for luiz.
shurrle for benzema ( ideally ).
markovic and feruz (both loan ) for ba (would keep him another season ).
then take out t hazard and put in terry (for another seaon).

Agree1 Disagree1

Post just sent about taking out some players was me
Jc26

Agree0 Disagree0

What did Hansen say about you never win anything with kids? But Ed you are right there would be some leadership/ experience issues
The interesting thing is that very few of the names listed would have to be included in a named EPL squad or I think in a UEFA a list

right, getting on rafa and the teams back isn't going to get us into that top four finish, can people please realise that all this anger isn't helping anyone, we need to support the team and get behind our manager.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I'm fairly certain posters giving out about rafa on this site has no effect on the team.
Or maybe I'm wrong and the teams performances on entirely do to the negative atmosphere on here.

Agree1 Disagree2

Ha ha well said, Torres should sell his soul for goals!

People doubting mceachran make me laugh. This boy is a pure class passer of the ball. I admit he needs to get physically bigger, but what's the point in pushing a 19 year old lad who at this age is could well be still growing. His first full season for boro, and his passing is amense. Mowbray wanted to start resting him but can't afford to because he is what makes them tick, he played two games last week. To the people who doubt him watch his full highlights for boro he's unquestionably quality. Or even watch him against Newcastle or marseille on the tube. He was running our midfield in these games at 17. We need a passer from deep who looks forward can split a pass. We don't need modric or moutinho! We need to stay playing josh. BLUEBOY1

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Ok BLUEBOY1, we get the fact you love Josh. I don't think anyone questions his passing ability? But do you pay much attenion to the defensive side of his game? If things are not going well for boro he's the first one to get subbed off. don't get me wrong, I would love for him to be a first team player for cfc, but if you ask anyone that watches the championship games they will tell you it's Chalobah that will break into the chelsea first team first. DJ

Agree4 Disagree1

I read that last week that the journalists share the view that Nat is bar far the best young prospect playing in the championship and whilst I don't disagree with that view I would suspect that Josh also has had much the same said about his potential but it would appear that he has not developed at the pace expected something that often happens with young players

Agree0 Disagree1

Every week I check on certain loanees, & if youve noticed he's played a lot on the left flank. but when he's centre he's played very well. ill admit he needs to bulk up, but he is 19.

what you think of van aanholts season so far? he's looking very very sharp.

BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree2

I honestly think Bertrand should be looking over his shoulder because PVA is finally puttin it together while Bertrand hasn't really progressed. That being said I don't think either is the heir to cole (shaw) but they both could be fighting for the backup role.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Feb 2013 13:15:59
If end up outside the top 4. We should of just played and gelled mceachran. Debruyne, lukaku, chalobah into the first team ready for next season.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

27 Feb 2013 14:16:03
They will definitely be here next season "when'' we lose out on top4.

Agree0 Disagree2

Anyone saying lukaku should have been here with the progress he's made this season at WBA is soft in the head.

Team line-up for tonight will be:
Cech
Iva Luiz Terry Bertrand
Mikel Ramires
Moses Oscar Hazard
Torres

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Im going with this:
Cech
Ivan, Cahill, Terry, Bertrand
Mikel, Luiz
Moses, Oscar, Hazard
Torres.

DJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Will go with Cech in goal however if Iva plays it should bein the middle with Terry meaning Ferreria should play right back and Cole at left back
In midfield I would play Luiz and Mikel (I think we have only seen this combintion once at that was at the club world cup)this should let Luiz play with more freedom as Mikel offers better cover. Further forwrard I would go with Moses, Lampard and Hazard and either Torres or Ba u front.
On the bench Ake, Mata, Ba/Torres, Ramires, either of the reserve keepers and Bertrand

Agree0 Disagree1

Cahill has a virus. Which more than likely means Terry and Luiz will pair up in defence. Lampard will likely be rested for the league as we'll have Terry's leadership.
