My god, people. Anybody else see what Stones did vs Barnsley tonight? The way he jumped over the ball so it could go in, that was absolutely horrible judgment hahaha
35 million for that. ;-)

Hahah right about that Nibby :-P
He looked more like a dancer on that play than a footballer.

58 euros for DeBruyne!!! I'm really confused.

{Ed018's Note - should there be a million in there somewhere?}

This is becoming like a reunion tour of old posters. I've seen some names this month that I hadn't in a long while.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - good to see some of the old regulars posting again}

27 Aug 2015 02:25:28
Hopefully once the window closes, some more will show up. I know I'm not alone in thinking this is the time of the year, I dislike posting the much. Can only imagine how the Eds feel.

58 million sterling, this is blowing my mind, how is he worth anything close to that?

I still check this 3 times a day but with the Ed0002 circus that happens every year I never post anymore ha

{Ed001's Note - these days one good seasons removes good sense from valuations.}

I have followed the site for years but really stopped posting about 3 or 4 tears ago because of the trolls.

Its ironic that Ed02s boycott has allowed the place to become a decent place to debate once again.

Its a shame though as Ed02 is a legend all credit to Ed18 for keeping the place running. Thanks Eds

It gets overrun with people asking for hourly updates but that also coincides with more traffic/opinions.

{Ed018's Note - I will say this summer has been pretty good. Most of the posters have figured out it's not a "ask Ed" website and have had some good discussions lately. It's nice to see some of the old regulars back as well.}

i beg to add

well all love and watch football
alot can happen or nothing at all in the whole 90 or 120 mins played
penalty given or not, score or miss
own goals, brilliant goals, team goals, indiviadual goals, offside goals ( missed or given )

i don't wanna waste anyones time

but think of it this way

player transfer? there is the issue of demands and other things including transfer fee that needs to be "met" "agreed" and a lot can change just like it happens in 90mins football

if jose can come back to chelsea with romans bless

anything can happen at chelsea fc .

even "messi" if he has the blood to wear the blue shirt .

every player knows its not easy to play for chelsea .

have 2 cousins in the academy, even @ 14 and 11, they know you have to be exceptional to play @ chelsea .

An awful lot of regular posters said on here they didn't want Pedro, just wondering what your feelings are now?

We were wrong and put our hands up for it

Agree0 Disagree1

26 aug 2015 21:43:14
i don't , i had doubt about pedro too , but he has been brought into a team . jm said he is not here on holiday . dave said they trained with him so they make sure they understood the service he needs , and he also understands the service we need that is why he is here and not in spain or anywhere near manchester

chelsa is not barca
and the pedro @ chelsea you haven't seen not to like

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Aug 2015 23:03:17
I wasn't a fan of the Pedro move. He had a very good first game, but that's what it is. Only 1 game. I really do hope he can continue to influence our games like he did on Sunday, but I'll wait to pass real judgment until I see him play some more.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 23:30:28
He has played once, against one of the poorer teams in the league. My opinion of him over the past 5-6 years, won't be changing after one game.

He played well, but wasnt excellent. Yes he scored a deflected goal, scuffed another shot that turned into an assist and made some decent runs, but if you expect that to happen every game, you're kidding yourself.

In my eyes he is a more effective Willian, without the workrate. Not a great passer, not extremely intellegent in his movement, but will add goals.

If you rewatch the game, he did a lot of things wrong, but for a debut he was effective and played well. I'd give it 6-12 months before you can really judge him in the league. Di Maria started on fire, how would you judge his time in England?

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 23:51:27
What the others said. If he continues Sunday's performance for the year then I'll gladly eat crow but until then I'll hold my council.

Pedro was by far our best player and to have someone with such amazing experience and has won every trophy in the book should think before you write! We haven't had a person opposite Hazard since he had been at Chelsea and his experience and dedication to his craft is going to bring us a winning season! For me it's better we started slow as we can now show what we are made of and its kind of fun to see what kind of reserve we have as a team! Don't count Chelsea out of anything and we will see tomorrow when they announce our Champions League group what we have in store the next couple months, but mark my words Pedro will be a huge difference maker in our teams results as will Kennedy and and Rahman! Lots to look forward to!
Lastly Martinez has gone too far with his shannanigans and even if we don't get Stones now in January we will come back again and by that time he will have either forced the hand that holds him back or he will play like he did today as he showed he is not into Everton

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2015 09:02:12
Jet: I cannot help feeling you are looking at Pedro through rose tinted glasses. He has been fortunate in some respects to win what he has when never really being a key player for Barcelona. To be Chelsea's best player on Saturday says more about the team than him; he was competent and showed glimpses of what we miss but like some I was against the buy because I feel he is too fragile for the Premiership and I am reserving judgement until he encounters some of our more robust defenders. He could end up being another Jesus Navas, an impact player only.

27 Aug 2015 10:19:50
When you think of the 58m being asked for De Bruyne and the 85m in Griezmann's contract, by anyone's measure Pedro is a snip at 25m euros.

i have been paying a lot of attention

1.the eds are doing their very best, info on transfers have been spot on!
i remember the mention of chelsea having agreed deals with 6 players, and jm saying transfers this window will be for first choice or back up for players we no longer needs or have to sell or players that want to leave for no having the blood to play for chelsea (blue blood). so in fairness

Falcao , kennedy, baba, pedro, begovic, pantic and nathan (loaned out )

everyone do the maths .

if you are truely a chelsea fan, you wont even bother to know if stones or pogba will come to chelsea this window will happen

if chelsea wants a player, and the player is available . we will get the player .

not a lot can refuse chelsea fc .

the eds should take a holiday till transfer deadline day . so we all meet here again for a good banter .

we should all stop asking questions and just enjoy

Everton fans on their page have great humour, some still desperately arguing Stones doesn't want to leave and some suggesting stupid offers like £30m and Zouma/Oscar as if they believe would actually happen!

I am a bit concerned that Man U may do a 'Pedro' on us over John Stones.

I think if anyone thinks we will get pogba you are delusional

Believable0 Unbelievable5

26 Aug 2015 19:22:20
We? I don't fet what you mean by "we" because no one that knows what it means to be a Chelsea fan would ever think it impossible to get any player not cause of what we can offer financially but how we've become obe of the best clubs in europe and easily an attractive option for any player.

Obviously, it seems harder to believe for various reasons and might seem like clutching on straws but in all honesty if it did happen I wouldn't be surprised we do have Jose afterall , for me I never underestimate what my club can do.

PS. I am not for a second saying we will get him , all that shocks me is the way most look fown on how big a club we are and how much it would be an honour for most players to wear our blue, everyone is entitled to an opinion but during the transfer season, some opinions do my head in, major reason I stay off till it shuts. Yes I do want Pogba. :)

Agree3 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 21:13:18
Couple things:
1. Stones is showing here in Barnsley game he is ready to leave and if they lose we have a hit cause would mean its interrupting the team if they win still up in the air and only way Man U wins this fight is if they hand over a defensive player which may or could happen but no one wants to play for Van Gahl with his demeanor and Decor the way he has shown his players!
Lastly Pogba I know is everyone's dream mine also but unless we give up Oscar or Willian it's not happening! Every post I read it discusses us giving up one of them which we continually say no too so I know Jose wants his cake and eat it also and my opinion i'd give one for sure and Ramires and pay very little bit Joae is too stubborn or one and cash but if we offer no one never happening so best to stop discussing

Agree0 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 21:53:20
I agree I think stones will happen but it's not about how big Chelsea are but he wants the barca move and juventus are the Italian champions so he will wait there barca will get him next year we have been here before with Neymar showed great interest in him made offers but in the end he got the move he wanted

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Aug 2015 23:36:13
Fairly sure we never made an offer for Neymar. We had interest, but unless you believe the drivel on WAGNH, we didn't actually make an offer. It became evident early on that he wanted a move to Spain, and that they could offer the shady deal him and his agent (his father) were after.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2015 12:50:23
Anyone else get the feeling that if Pogba wanted a move, it may of happened earlier in the summer.

He's on record as saying that Barca are his dream club. I just sense he might hold out for them, come January or even next summer.

Anyway, fingers and toes crossed we can pull it off!! KTBFFH

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed008's Note - I think you will see Pogba leaving Juventus next summer.

26 Aug 2015 17:22:25
I agree with ed008 and Dan and am gutted about it. I think he will go to barca next year and make them even better. I do think we should try to get someone in however. I still cannot believe with all the changes since mourinho came mikel is still hanging around!

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 20:14:57
I think we are getting a great deal of negative comments in the 'hope' the opposite occurs. Will we sign Paul Pogba? There is a chance no more, no less. However and the plus side is in July 2014 he was seen signing autographs just along from Stamford Bridge and it was reported in the papers that he had met with Chelsea representatives. What does that mean - nothing, but! A transfer of this magnitude will be handled by Marina Granovskaia and as we know she can make on the spot decisions and is an excellent 'wheeler dealer'. Can she swing it - maybe, maybe not. I would think there has been some dialogue with Juventus/Player certainly in the close season and by now we must have some idea 'if' he would entertain a transfer to Chelsea so that is a positive. Juventus need to rebuild having lost three key players and that requires finance and Chelsea's reported offer must be attractive but as I said, if he declines the move then unlikely he can be forced to move. Which overall means we do have a decent chance of securing his services. The big unknown is how determined might he be to get to Barcelona if at all?

Hi ed is there any interest in silva or isco from real Madrid if Chelsea fail in the pursuit of pogba? Good to see Chelsea trying to do something in this window, maybe the man city result could be the best thing to happen to us this season!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - I would doubt any interest in Isco right now, Chelsea have previously been interested in Silva and it looks like he could be on the move so maybe he'd be an alternative but I would doubt it}

26 Aug 2015 12:20:34
Silva?? The city player? Or Another one

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed008's Note - I think he means the Brazilian midfielder at Real Madrid Lucas Silva.

26 Aug 2015 15:31:17
I agree ed. I think it was just a pipe dream! Is there any other players in that position being looked at other than Witsel

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - not that I'm aware of right now}

26 Aug 2015 02:39:25
Pogba and stones would be a great way to finish the transfer window off

Believable2 Unbelievable1

26 Aug 2015 08:44:35
I don't think Pogba will be possible, its going to be interesting to see if we have an alternative to him up our sleeves.Stones I think will we get.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Aug 2015 10:38:22
Pogba is possible. Ed has repeatedly stated that Chelsea are in a position financially to make a deal happen. Whether they think he's worth it is another matter entirely. But it is possible.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2015 13:11:07
I'm slightly worried that we may be putting all our eggs in one basket with pogba witch is going to be hard to conclude to say the least. I'm sure Chelsea are working behind closed doors or several targets just worries me that we haven't herd about any really. Excuse the pessimism the next week has the potential to be so good yet so disappointing

25 Aug 2015 23:26:30
Any news on Pogba at all Eds? So much rumours and speculation swirling around right now, and the only source I trust is anything you come out with cause it tends to be accurate!
And for some fans that don't believe the Eds: they have successfully predicted to this date as of my knowledge: Pedro, Baba Rahman, Schürrle leaving, Cuadrado joining, Mata joining us over Liverpool/Arsenal and Mata leaving to Utd., Azpilicueta before anyone else, Eden Hazard and all his choices, Oscar picking Chelsea over Spurs, Diego Costa before anyone else, Filipe Luis joining and leaving and interest in Griezemann and Koke and Willian joining us to name the immediate ones. The only one I remember being very left field was Fabregas and let's face it, no one expected that! So if you want to waste your time sending the editing team an abusive message or two, crawl back under your rocks and let the people who use this site for information and enjoyment have exactly that. If you want to just spout nonsense or dribble, plenty of social media options are available, Twatter appears to be the new popular one.
To the all the Eds, a massive thanks for giving up any of your time to run this site. Have been here now for 4 years as a reader and still the best source for transfer rumours and information.
