pardew and tv pundits give thursdays europa match as reason for newcastles defeat. We had a midweek match and have now played one more than everyone else, and most of newcastles first team did not play Thursday..it all seems anti chelsea. Sid

Pardew always wines. Only person who does it more is old whiskey nose.

We need a backup striker to support Nando as he cannot play 90 minutes of every game. Defoe would do. Experienced and cheap.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Tottenham are a ridiculous club to deal with, better go for Hernandez.
roan {Ed018's Note - Tottenham themselves are short on strikers, i can't imagine they will be selling Defoe}

I know this may come as a shock to many fans but I don't think we should sign another striker this transfer window. Signing a striker will probably mean the end for DS, who I would be very sad to see go, because he has an immense talent, is versatile and homegrown. If his decision making, (when to pass) improves he will become one of the worlds best. Signing a big name striker like Cavani would unfortunately also unnerve Torres as he has been told he will be the main man this season, plus set us back a mere £35m If Torres were to get injured I think Sturridge and Moses are more than capable of playing there. Due to our new style of play this season I think the striker position is less important as they will all get an abundance of chances, and whatever a Moses may lack in finishing compared to Torres would make up in link up play and technique! I would much prefer a new holding mid to come instead.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Im behind torres all the way as everyone knows but if signing a new striker 'unerves' him as you put it then surely he shouldnt be at such a big club

sturridge has got years ahead of him think in 4 years time our strikers will be lukaku, sturridge and cavani(if signed) so i dont see the problem of buying a striker

curt

Agree4 Disagree7

Totally agree

cali

Agree4 Disagree1

Do not worry mate,Torres would not be affected and signing Cavani will give us another option, plus we have so many games to play Torres is bound to get tired at some point.Moses and Sturridge are better second strikers and are not that good while leading the attack. With the amount of game we are aiming to play another striker is a must.
roan

Agree0 Disagree5

I'm just saying that I don't see the point in splashing £30m+ on a striker that is probably going to be sitting on the bench.

1. The arrival of a big money striker will almost certainly mean the end for DS
2. There is uncertainty whether Torres will lose his form.
3. With the way the team is playing the striker only needs decent pace, touch and link up play to succeed.
4. Would like to see Bamford given a chance; we bought him for £1m after all.

Agree4 Disagree1

I am really against buy another to name striker as well because its going to upset our current centre forwards and limit sturridges potential and also lukaku when he returns from loan. maybe buy a player like defoe who is content with being used as a sub.

cali

Agree2 Disagree1

That's why I believe hulk makes more sense than cavani.

Tk

Agree1 Disagree2

Hulk isn't even as good as Sturridge! Totally over priced and over rated!

city look weak what has happened to them over the summer

ill be happy with a draw or pool win

a pool win you ask well my theory is liverpool arent a threat to us bringing the league back to the bridge so would rather them take 1 or 3 points of city than city take 3 points off of them

curt

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Yeah, they were a bit ragged and complacent in the middle of the park. They missed Silva ,he should have started.I would have just loved if they could have thrashed the persons 5-0 or 6-1.It would have shut the Pool fans for good.
But a draw is probably the best result for us.

Not a rumour or anything just wondering what people think... would people take David Silva if he was to become available? Don't get me wrong this time last year that would have been a no-brainer but I think with the players we've signed and the way we've started the season he'd struggle to get into our team. And anyway I don't think he offers as much as Mata (I couldn't believe Mata hardly got a look in at the Euro's, I thought that was a joke!) Just wondering if anyone agrees with that or whether it's just me!

SW

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We have the team now but i still wouldnt complain if he joined

curt

Agree2 Disagree2

Signing Silva will be epic. The team will have so much fluidity it would be unreal. He is just the players(probably the only player at the moment among the other teams ) that could take over from Lamps in this new style we are playing.
roan

I've got to admit not long after posting it I realised how stupid it was! I'd happily have him in the side!

Sorry, but we should be pleased we did not get Mata, huge fee, huge wages and we already have better. Why do you think Chelski are buying more wingers?

It's blatantly obvious that all arsenal fans lost any type of brain activity years ago.. There's something about them I'll never understand. I think Wenger has some freaky mind control business going on. Simply they're just bitter, twisted and us winning the champions league wound them up even more.. Rant over!!
Marley

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely the only attacking player they have that could be near Mata is Santi Cazorla and hes only just come. They are becoming like Liverpool fans, just talk nonsense all the time.

This really is the best time to be a Chelsea fan. Whenever we think all is grim ,i.e not signing cavani or drawing away to stoke for example, just think where we ARE, and then where we WERE. Not only am I talking about where we were 20 years ago, but the previous couple of years which have been apparently less fruitful. Without roman, there'd be no fruit at all, so to speak

"When BR gets us playing like Swansea have last two games, with our quality, we'll be unstoppable. We'll be up there with the best teams in the world. I really hope the supporters and owners give him time, it will be worth the wait."
THIS WAS A POSTER POSTED ON THE POOL PAGE.

I go there sometimes to have a laugh and just to see how delusional people can be.

Apparently the Pool fans have forgotten that Micheal Laudrup is Swansea's manager now and are under the impression that BR is still Swansea's manager. They have also forgotten the fact that Swansea have signed quality players such as Michu ,who is in my opinion better than any POOL player at the moment. They have also forgotten that it was Martinez who first made Swansea play the way they do.
I mean their arrogance towards other club s is astounding.
Also they are planning to compel Sahin to stay with them after the season by chanting his name rather than by winning games.
Go to their page ,mates,I assure you that you will not be disappointing.
roan

Iv gone there a few times it is painful to read sometimes

man city will slaughter them today then they will be crying

True that Roan, there is like a post every second at the scousers page and the next one even more delusional than the last, I mean they make me laugh so hard at times I start crying and ask my self how people could be so delusional, I meam "Tika-taka", the next Barca, Allen the next Xavi.....

Good performance from the team yesterday against, what is, a decent Newcastle side.

Once again there can be no question as to who the star of the show was, Hazard was simply outstanding; constantly looks a threat when he's in possession of the ball! The movement between him and Mata has caused teams problems that they just don't have the answers too, add the passing abilities of Oscar to that on a regular basis and we're going to be scary going forward!

Torres is also starting to look good, maybe not the player he used to be, but still a player who will get 20 goals this season; even his most resolute of haters can't complain about yesterday's performance!

Another mention has to go to the central midfield players, I'd still like to see someone else come in, but Mikel had a good game and that was as good as i've seen Meireles play for us!

I think us Chelsea fans should expect dark days ahead, we can never attract top talent and if we do we can never bring them on in their career! Think Roman will walk away soon but wot I Dnt understand is that its well documented he wants to win the champions league and he can't see with this bunch of players he won't get it! So that leaves Avb fighting a losing battle. Avb has got to go the football we play is a disgrace and a lot of the old guard have got to go! Whole of Chelsea needs to be built up from the tea lady to the the manager again! I can handle winning nufin for a few years as long as there are signs of us revamping this team bringing in youngsters! But until then its always gonna be the same old Chelsea in house fighting and acting like little kids!

Pinky

*************
Do you remember this post Pinky? What was the point in it? Or did you just fancy a good whine because we weren't top of the league. For anyone who wants to question the legitimacy of the post, it's in Dodgy Rumours section.
Support Chelsea, when we win, lose or draw. It's in our blood. I remember much darker days for this football club and it really does p*ss me off when I see posts like this from last season, half way through the season and fans giving up.
Look what happened at the end.
Love to hear what the likes of SHED END, Melbourne, Curt and Jm10 think of posts like this.
CFCFOREVER!
P.S. please let this post through eds, I want to name and shame pinky purely cause it is a great example of pointless negativity last season which was foolishly written and posted before the CL crusade.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

I remember seeing that the dude is clueless yet sits on here on a regular basis calling all of us clueless

yes a disappointing first half to our season but theres no need for bull like this to be written no doubt he will be back with a load of rubbish if we finished top 4 this season

personally i think we are too good for settleing at top 4 we can easily win the league this season and put up a real challenge in every cup we participate

its going to be a good year lads

I live in india and i am the only one amongst my friends that has chelsea in his blood...i must admit it was scary facing the countless ridicule given how we were performing half-way last season...we all remained loyal and it was in their face on 19th may.....just saying that fans closer home to stamford bridge should not be like pinky....our players should always know the fans are behind them...even when things are bad....jumping the ship when we are bad shouldn't even be an option...times are great...let us fans be the loudest...

i trust roman, ron and roberto

taby

Agree7 Disagree2

Nice post taby good too see we have fans all around the world too

your absolutely right though iv supported chelsea since when we even struggled to make top 6 and iv never jumped ship because we had a poor run of form

ill admit against barca last season i thought we might take a battering but i still watched the games and supported my heart out for the lads and when we got to the final i had such belief in us winning it and i was right to have that belief

kevin/ pinky you should stop posting

curt

All Kevin posts is his worries about the club and how we're not buying the players he wants so I won't miss him.. Nothing wrong with bringing up the past if pinky sed something rather silly.. It is a banter page.
Marley

Agree5 Disagree2

I genuinely think that as a club we are starting to progress in direction that we set us up perfectly for thr future. We have won Tue chsmpions league, so its its still a priority but is not make or break In my opinion. I believe Robbie will be our longest serving manger for a while. Also our Youth System is pumping out the finest young talent in Britain.

Good times ahead.

PR!

Agree5 Disagree1

I've supported Chelsea for 30+ years. How of many of you followed us to tinpot sheds when we were in the second and third divisions of football? When our club was sold for a pound? The fact we have reached so highly in the last nine years is a credit to how the club has adapted and no offences Kevin, some of your logic has been even more deluded than Pinky in that original post. Find something of CFC or Curt who posted something like the above negative drivel which Pinky (and you) spout out.
To Curt, anyone on the page and CFCFOREVER! Ignore this clown Kevin,
failed to ever post anything useful.

P.S: Can you (CFCFOREVER!) post another match report like you did for Reading on the Newcastle match? Cheers mate.

Very impressed with Di Matteo's tactics against Newcastle, Bertrand nullified most of Ben Arfa and Santon's forward runs as well as swapping wings to join the front 3 of Hazard, Mata and Torres. Mereiles and Mikel did give me a pleasant surprise, the way they stopped Cabaye and Anita passing the ball forward and around the centre spot and stopping it going wide was very impressive. Mereilles also tried to get as much as possible into Torres feet to get him running, that 60 yard pass was sublime. I'd prefer to see Oscar playing but if Mereilles performs like that, I have no qualms seeing him play there.
Only one Di Matteo

P.S. Imagine Lukaku in a few years if he keeps playing like yesterday!

Guys watched Lukaku come on today and although its only been a couple games he is a beast. With a year of seasoning will be a monster for us next year. He will be scoring goals for us like crazy. Has the size and strength of a Drogba but can make amazing 30 yard runs too. Great with both feet and in air. Can't wait to get him back. The kinda player who could play off of Torres as I feel they would compliment each other as well. Really can see Lukaku being a full time starter for them soon. Good times for Chelsea.
