Ed is the any update on a proposal for a new stadium yet? Seem to be stuck in limbo now. We really need to be upgrading our capacity and The Bridge has been proven to be unrealistic.

Gutted seeing Mata in red, what an absolute world class player, game v spurs when he set up 2 and scored to and ruined Kyle walker, goals skills and assists, can't help but wish him luck just hope utd miss out on top 4, can't believe he wouldn't fight bit harder for his place, like luiz Willian Torres, good luck special jaun

Im sorry but if united get shaw then what are we playing at? Surely we could have negotiated with united not to bid for shaw when we sold mata.

It is known that shaw is a chelsea fan so given the choice he would join us, and it's not as if we can't compete financially with utd. We could even offer them Bertrand in the summer and let them keep shaw until then.

The only way united will get shaw is if we let them, so please buy this kid!

Selling Mata to United may well kick-started their ability to attract other top players at moment when some would have hesitated at joining seemingly sinking ship. Unless we have some really stellar replacement/s lined up (and who around is as good as Mata?), then still think we've made a loony decision. Mata could and should have had a place in our 'system'. Mata transfer = Kiss-of-life to United, shooting ourselves in foot. Ugh! So it will remain a while before I get over this (wonder what CFC fans in 1860s thought when we sold Jimmy Greaves to Spurs?!).

I have the same view, any players from abroad who had their doubts about united after fergie left, will not be so concerned after seeing mata sign. Buts it's over and done with now, Jose knows what he is doing, he is building his team with young players who fit into his system, and whether we like it or not, mata was not a player who would be able to fit or adapt to that system.

OK, yes Sis, there are two issues and perhaps they need to be separated: 1)debate over whether Mata could fit in or not; will we build stronger team without him: to be determined.
2)question of whether if Mata couldn't be fitted in at JM's CFC who would be acceptable team to sell him to: ie a major PL rival or overseas club, even if somewhat less money from latter. Unfortunately selling to Utd has made losing Mata that much harder (than it would have been if he'd gone eg to Atletico Madrid).

Ed01 has posted a bit about Jose on another site. Basically it is what we all know, that what you see on tele is very different to the actual man. He is respected and admired by most players, not only Chelsea's but every other teams. Unlike other teams who won't sell to another premiership team, most times going against the wishes of the player, maybe he has talked and listened to mata (who we know is a decent human being himself) and taken into account what the player himself actually wanted. That's what a thoroughly decent person would do, and that's probably what sets Jose aside from most other managers, and why most players he has met love the man.
