A lot of posters on here are giving a lot of credit to Bayern Munich for the way they played and beat us today.

They are a fantastic, however, are we not giving them far too much credit especially given that we were poor today?

For a game of its scale and magnitude certain players did not deliver at all.

Rudiger was very poor positionally throughout the game and probably was at fault for the 2nd goal alongside Caballero who should not have been beaten.

Azpi lost focus and slipped which resulted in the first goal. Very thin line when it comes to making errors against top teams.

Christensen got drawn into the mis-timed sliding tackle leading to the 3rd goal.

With possession we gave the ball away far too many times to Bayern. Barkley and Jorginho being culpable which led to numerous bayern chances in the first half. The occasion got the best of Mount and his inexperience had shown through massively. Reece James was very tentative and maybe was scared of making a mistake and of course inexperience. Alonso made a silly foul to get a red card.

Maybe Kovacic is the only man that can hold his head up high.

We are definitely better than the performance today. We shown a lot more vs Liverpool and Man City earlier during the season.

Dissappointment and I hope it is a learning curve. We need transfers.

Didn't learn anything we didn't already know after the game, this squad needs a big revamp in the summer. Kovacic was definitely our best player tonight, and has been all season. He's one of the few that should have a starting spot next season. And at least 5 or 6 players that started tonight shouldn't be starting for us next season. It's definitely going to be a huge summer.

The next window will IMO be a test for the club and Lamps but that’s how it should be for a lot of transfer windows.

The Bayern style of play was so simple and effective. While give and go football is hardly original it is good on the eye.

Our coaching staff must have been aware of the Bayern style and it was our inability all over the pitch to combat this style that worries me.

Not that angry if i'm honest, our team is simply nowhere near as good as Bayerns and it showed in the end. Focus should be on getting back into the CL next season now where we'll hopefully be able to compete a lot better with a better team. Quite a few poor performances, hope people on here who rate Ruidger for whatever reason realise he's not good enough.

A low defensive IQ CB who relies on his athleticism. Him and Barkley really shouldn't have started this game, i know Barkley played well against Spurs but that's because he had time and space, without it he doesn't perform. Best not to say anything about Alonso tonight either. Bigger game against Bournemouth on Saturday, hopefully the boys can bounce back. And hopefully Ruben is involved, desperately need his creativity.

Agree on Rudiger, I’ve never been a fan of his, I do like Christensen and think he and Tomori are our best defenders. Azpilicueta has been a good servant but not the same player he once was.

We should concentrate on getting top four but not just for the sake of it, we need to get back to a certain level, of all the teams so far that have played we are the only new that haven’t turned up, and what’s surprising is that everyone expected Bayern to win and easily.

Its disappointing and was a frustrating watch.

We definitely need a CB and a commanding one that can control the back 4.

I know I am always optimistic by I fancy us to play well tonight and still be in game for the return leg.

My mate who has taken my seat for tonight's game says we will get stuffed. Not sure why I gave him my ticket.

COME on MY MIGHTY BLUES.

No exactly j although I thought both goals could’ve been defended better Rudiger needed to step up first goal and save slipped for second but they are a class act.

Yeah, what a prospect that boy is.

I could pick issues with our defending but don't want to take a way from how good Bayern were all over the pitch, but especially Lewandowski, Gnarby and Davies.

You learn more from your losses, and some of our boys would have learnt a lot from that.

Danny, think you win my prize as the first poster who wants us to sign Bayern’s left back but I have to agree he does look a bit special.

Overall it was a disappointing performance.

The team is very young and the inexperience seeped through today. Our young players were nervous, scared and suffered from a'rush of blood'in some situations.

Maybe we needed some experience on show today. The injuries to key players hasn't helped either. The campaign is pretty much done for me.

On a separate note, how good his Alfonso Davies?
