As I predicted Torres to Milan is on!

Got any inside knowledge?

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks to me a bit of a poacher type striker. Could be useful as the back up for Costa and have a kind if role as impact sub when we're chasing games

Agree0 Disagree0

Crap, reply fail. It was meant for the post above.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be surprised if we sign Rodrigo

Agree0 Disagree0

I really like him and think he'd be a great addition in terms of style for our team. Looks like its Destro though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - Rodrigo is on loan at Valencia so he's not an option}

Cheers for the update Ed didn't no. Is there an option to make it permanent at the end of the loan. Great prospect but seems to have plateau'd for some reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I'm not sure}

Anyone seen Torres do the ice bucket challenge? I think he did it today, and in the video he's seen doing the challenge in a place where the weather is beautiful (looks like a place where one would spend his holidays). It hardly resembles England. First he's not in the squad and now it looks like he's abroad and not with the team.
I'm very intrigued by this situation.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Normally I would say you were overthinking it, but after seeing the video it does seem like he is in a southern country. Maybe Italy?

You're right! He is definitely not in England, that's for sure.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard he's in Ibiza when it's done. Not sure why he's there or if it was even filmed when it was released, might've been done a while ago. Does seem suspicious though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha maybe I am reading too much into this. But I just don't know why else he could be abroad right now, other than perhaps him being on his way out.

Hi eds any updates regarding transfers? I hope we manage to move on Torres and get another striker in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did you watch Mourinho?

Agree0 Disagree0

I did but also watched him when he said mata and Luis would not be sold!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - they want to move Torres on and bring in another forward, we all know better than to listen to Mourinho when it comes to this stuff}

Still hoping that a midfielder will be brought in as well. Mr Emenalo, if you're reading this, please bring us Pogba. I'd be forever in your debt :-)

I think we'll see two, maybe three, players leave and one, maybe two, coming in this week.

In a summer when we lost the experience of Lampard, Cole and potentially Cech bringing Drogba back to Chelsea was an inspired decision; but to expect more than 10 goals from him is unrealistic. His impact on the team will come in the changing room; and it will be a significant impact.

There must be much more to the fact that Torres wasn't in the squad at the weekend than it being a tactical decision. I think he will, finally, leave and a striker will come in. I'd be very happy with either Destro or Augbemyang; although the later may well be wishful thinking this late in the window.

Marco Van Ginkel seems to be heading out on loan - a loan that I think he needs. After a season out injured he needs regular football this season and a loan would offer him that - Milan would be a great fit for him. Matic and Fabregas have been excellent so far but having only Mikel and Ramires backing them up in the squad screams danger to me! A further, better, 'pivot' option is needed and if this means Mikel leaves then - well excellent to be honest! Carvalho would be a good, realistic, option; Pogba would be an amazing, but slightly unrealistic, option.

Torres, Van Ginkel (loan) & maybe Mikel out.

Destro/Augbemyang & Carvalho in.

That'd be a great week - I'm my humble opinion!

Hope so. i'm dying for jealous right now. Opposite to the others, I think Di Maria is a very good player. Just look at what happened to Real Madrid in the C1 final, they just really broke Aletico defense line when he came in from subtitution. that's also the reason for their loss in Spain Super Cup recently when Ancelotti didnot let him in. Wish he can't adopt with physical style of EPL, which he is weak at.

Di Maria is a great player (not £65m though) but a bad signing in my opinion. I can't see where he will fit in. Utd are signing good individuals but ignoring the team and it's balance. Their CM and defence is very, very poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea wasn't ready to pay 60£+12m£ for DiMaria or any other player. FFP is obviously very important to the club.

Utd are run for financial success as much as, if not more than, success on the pitch. This has put them in a very good FFP position - they're not doing a good job at spending that money though.

Not Chelsea related but just wondered what fellow Chelsea fans thought of utd buying di Maria. Personally I think he's a great player but sky are reporting the bid to be close to £70m. Whoever sorts their transfers needs sacking because he's worth about half that amount. Lastly a question for any eds, with Torres possibly looking like leaving, have we shown any interest in different strikers other than the usual (aubameyang, cavani, destro).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - DiMaria is the most overrated player to go for that amount of money since Torres}.

It's 60m£ or 75m€+15m€ adds according to results. That's what you can call good business Real spent 25m€ for him and sold him for 90m€. DiMaria is fantastic player but he doesn't worth 90m€.

Agree0 Disagree0

In today's market, which player is really worth his pricetag. Everyone overpays for players.
I think Di Maria is a crackin player. Fast, skillful, hardworking and has good end product. He'll be a real asset for United. Him and Mata are 2 of the best creative players around and they'll have no problem breaking down defensive teams.
Good deal for United in my opinion. They have bucket loads to spend anyway, so the price is not an issue for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

But if Manchester United spirit going to be lifted by this signing? They desperately need some new blood in order to even get to top 4. And if di maria plays nicely and guides them to top 4 place who will question how much they spent?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas £28mill - Costa £32mill - Matic £20mill - Luis £50mill - Di Maria £69mill . LOL LOL LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed018 I have to disagree with you that DiMaria is the most overrated player, there players which are even more overrated than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - for that price. He's a good player but not worth that much. Just my opinion}

25 Aug 2014 14:53:31
I think Di maria is a little expensive but then again you spent £50 million on a striker who hardly scores.

Zz top which team do you support? As I believe that every team had their flops

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed018 he is absolutely overrated but not the most overrated the are players which are more overrated than DiMaria.
