{Editor's Note: Chu-Young has been at Monaco and they did nothing to exploit him. Chelsea as a club do not look at players in the manner you suggest. As for Kalou, he was taken in by Mourinho as work in progress and thrown in to the first team right away due to injuries. He has little or no understanding of when to release the ball or integrate himself in to the team. I rather hoped Arsenal would take him. If Park Chu-Young moves to Chelsea he will be a great sucess. I am very surprised Liverpool are not all over him.}

Monaco isn't a club with ambition to be a big global player like Chelsea is. I doubt that Monacos pre season every second year is in Asia like Chelseas. Since CL final lost to Mournhos Porto they are not big players even in France. On the other hand, when Chelsea go to Asia next pre season, I bet they would love to have some Asian player on their plane. I am not saying anything about Parks quality, i said that Chelsea player cannont be some muppet, that guy must have some quality in his football.
But the fact that he is Korean and Asian will have a big influence in Chelsea decision on him.

Kalou is sloppy, not the most skilfull, not the fastest. . he is average. But he plays his part in Chelsea games, was ahead of Joe Cole in Ancelottis plans at the end of last season. Kalou tactically fits well in Ancelottis systems, i doubt that me or you or whoever knows Kalous job in Ancelottis systems better then Ancelotti. Yuri Zhirkov, labeld as Russian Ronaldinho, cannot fit into Ancelottis tactics. Is he worse than Kalou? Probably no. But Kalou plays more than him. Simply Salomon fits very well in Ancelottis tactics. Came from bench on Saturday, scored twice. Terrible opposite defence, but he still scored twice in Premier League game, as a sub. I don't know how he does that too, but he is doing it.

I don't if Park Chu-Young will be a big success in Chelsea, that's your opinion. But his fight will be with Kalou and Sturridge first, then, maybe, maybe he will break into Chelsea first team.

To the guy who said this

If we include the sales of Carvalho, Sinclair and Stoch. We then have £60.5 million to spend

I'm not including the sales but good point

{Editor's Note: Chelsea would not buy a player just to promote themselves in Asia. Park Chu-Young is an excellent player that would fit well in the Premier League - be it with Chelsea or any other club that may be interested. I know that Liverpool did enquire about the player a few weeks ago but I heard nothing more of it.}
Thats why i said "mostly". It is clear that you don't buy a player just for marketing, when you buy someone, you look at the whole product, lets say that way. At least if you are a serious club, and i think that Chelsea is a serious club.
In this case, first thing about Korean guy is that he can help Chelsea to promote themself in Asia, or more specific, in Korea, where ManU with Park are, lets say, untouched. And Samsung is there too, i think?
Then we can talk about his influence on the pitch. And i don't think he can do more than Kalou. Just a decent backup.

{Editor's Note: Korea is a tiny part of Asia and are you now suggesting that the player is bought because the sponsor is Korean based? I would take Park Chu-Young over Kalou any day of the week.}

Well ed, first of all, the player isn't bought, it is just the suns rumour article. Korea is a tiny part of Asia but Korea is an interesting market and Asia itself is realy big actualy.
I don't know how to explain this to you. Player cannot be bought just because od sponsor, just because of his talent, just because of his strength. . . when you are buying someone you are exploring every single possible influence the player can bring to the club. For example, english players are way overrated because of that ridiculous "homegrown" rule, and being english is a one quality plus these days!
Park Chu-Youngs biggest quality in Chelseas mind is his potential marketing influence for the club in Asia and Korea. Of course that he has some football quality to play for club like Chelsea, otherwise Chelsea would take one chinese, one japanese and one korean guy to play for the club if promotion in Asia issue is the only one that maters!
You would take him over Kalou any day, I, for ex, would not. People were saying that Chelsea are mad to swap joe cole for benayoun with Liverpool, but Chelsea didn't think the same. Just because when you choose a player, there are many, many things that are making the choise. Kalou is Chelsea player for some 5 years, isn't some pele or maradona, but is a decent back up choise who doesn't complain about sitting on the bench. Yossi the same. Joe Cole wanted first team player status which he didn't deserve. And Park has to settle with the same status as Kalou and Yossi. If he is to become a Chelsea player of course.

But this apartment was bought when for buiness use, or short term player accomadation, but Deco liked it so much he stayed, now it gets used by whoever comes in and wants to live in london, its a 30 minute drive to cobham, when the player drives in to cobham, most of the traffick is going the other way, in to london, Deco did not want to buy or rent in surrey, this apartment is owned by Chelsea fc, and is in the perfect location to help settle new players, its easier to get a translater to work with a player, in there own living enviroument, and easier to find translators in the capital.

I said on monday the blues had been working to get a big name player, Joe Coles house is not needed, Chelsea have a penthouse in centrel london, was Decos old apartment, if Chu-Young Park, agrees terms he gets the penthouse to live in as part of deal.

{Editor's Note: Chelsea require the Chelsea players to be based close to the training ground at Cobham - this started in Mourinho's time and still continues. Whilst a few also have places in London, they are all based in Surrey.}
