Is Battersea the most likeliest destination for our new stadium ed02 now that we have asked a advisor to look at the place? {Ed002's Note - Probably not. At the moment I think the club are putting as much pressure as possible on the local council. Chelsea's preferred option is to extend Stamford Bridge. Battersea is probably third choise after Stamford Bridge and Earls Court.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

ED, by expanding Stamford Bridge would that mean, expanding The Shed and the matthew harding, or one of them. Is that what they are proposing?

PR! {Ed002's Note - Expanding Stamford Bridge would ideally mean adding a third tier to each of the stands.}

Season ticket holders in the west stand should have their tickets sold to fans who actually know a song or 2.

How are they going to fill all these extra seats?

I write this in the somewhat hopeful thought AVB may actually browse this site to guage the feeling from the fans. Dont worry i'm not going to demand you quit or even change your football philosophy, but what i do want is if we are going to embrace change then lets do it with both feet, not a toe at a time. We have some good youngsters bubbling under the surface, Romeu,Lukaku,Sturridge,Bertrand,Mceacheran and Courtois to name but a few.I for one would take the hit for a couple of seasons while these guys establish themselves and eventually emerge as a top team to challenge on all fronts. For the sake of our club be strong you have the talent and the will and most true fans are 100% behind you. Give Wolves a spanking on Saturday.

Sorry mate. AVB hasn't got a clue how to fix this. Never once during the aftermatch interview looked up. He got lucky at Porto that's all. I mean who in the name of football (apart from our hopeless board) would hire a Chelsea manager judging form one season? Come on.

Agree2 Disagree5

I' m sorry how was he lucky with Porto? He went the entire season unbeaten and won the Europa League, and look at the team we have, yeah were not playing good atm but he's only been manager for 5 months like the him a break. Wait till after the January signings selt in then you can judge him all you want!

Dealings In January I Would Like To See -

Out -

Drogba - £2m
Kalou - £5m
Malouda - £7m
Alex - £5m
Feriera - FREE

In -

Cahill - £7.5m
De Bruyne - £10m
Jordi Alba - £22m
Junior Hoilett -£10m

We need to take the January transfer window to refresh the squad and allow us to get rid of some deadwood and recop some transfer fee's for players that would leave on a free at the end of the season.

Drogba, Kalou and Malouda arent what they used to be period. Selling in January allows us to free up some wage space and some EU quota player space. Both Alex and Feriera arent getting any playing time this year and it would be good for all parties if they moved on.

Concerning in coming players, Cahill would be a direct replacement for Alex and would be direct cover for Luiz, Terry and Ivanovic.

Kevin de Bruyne is someone we have been watching for a while now and is a very technically gifted player, he has a killer long ball and a great shot on him. He would add some creativity and youth to our midfield.

Junior Hoilett has a expiring contract at Blackburn and a club like Chelsea coming in for the player would force Blackburn into a sale. He has pace, dribbling ability and a attacking style (literally everything we lack) and for the price and him being a UK born player along with him being available to play in europe, this could be a very shrewed buy.

lastly on this list Jordi Alba a very versatile LB/LM player. Lovely feet and blistering pace, he could be a direct replacement for Malouda and also offer a world class replacement for Ashley Cole in the following years. A truely gifted player and in my opinion a better option than Alvaro Perriera.

Don't hold too much hope. This is what we thought would happen in the summer when we lost some top class players because we didn't want to upset the top payed players. I mean this is turning into a very bad joke.

Agree3 Disagree0

And how is this gunna improve our team.?

Agree3 Disagree0

How will Jordi Alba and Junior improve our slow tempo build up play and lack of pace? Both are blistering quick and attack minded players who can beat a player, we oviously have so many of those who play for Chelsea.

I dont want to have a pop at you boys or kick you when your down,but i have a question that i believe will cost Roman close to £500m to put right.

How many players from your current squad will still be playing for you in 3 years?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Torres, Luiz, Mata, Sturridge, Ramires and that's it

Torres ha

Romeu, Lukaku?

We need zola, petrescu, wise, desailly, flo, vialli and di matteo to come out of retirement

....and Clive Walker, Kerry Dixon. With Chopper Harris as manager.

Torres, Sturride, Mata, Luiz, Ramires, romeu, mceachran, lukaku, bertrand, ivanovic, meireles (if keeps fitness), kakuta. now within those 3 years id say we will buy another 5 world class youngsters (21-24) and another atleast 5 good squad players.

May i ask the original poster who he supports. if liverpool all you do is waste cash. man utd, squad is very very poor atm, citeh dont care what you think, arsenal haha. put the boot in? we will atleast get third this season. we know we will. this summer we will get rid of alot of older players, clear salary cap room and buy some class players. if you dont support united then i have a question for you. how many league titles you won in the last 8 years? how many will you win in the next 8. liverpool 0, arsenal 0, tottenham 0. its gonna be a three horse race for a long time now.

Avb looked rather dejected in the post match interview yesterday.what is he doing.we were not mobile enough in midfield and attack.lampard can no longer carry the team. terry is becoming unreliable. and drogba is not the future,ramires is too mechanical. lets start playing our younger players. torres should come back to the team, josh,lukaku,romeu.and we need a flying winger badly like walcott,lennon etc remember what robben use to do.and mata should play central midfield. what do you think ed. {Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts on the matter.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Avb has got the defence playing too far up,he doesnt seem able to change tactics when things are going wrong,yet hes no fool,just look at his record,and Drogba had a good game,give him and the team time,its an ageing team,cant just bring 6 0r 7 players in like some are suggesting,couple of wins on the bounce and all will be well,stick with em.

ED02 do you think AVB is under pressure? Do you think Hiddink will return as DOF? {Ed002's Note - All managers are under pressure and AVB is no different. I have said all along don't be surprised to see someone come in to work with him - we will see what happens.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Thats hopeful Ed. I think he does need help.

Today was frightening. I will start again with the selection, how on earth do you expect anything from Torres when he's constantly getting benched for Drogba? I honestly don't know. It's not like Drogba tore it up against pool. He had a nice goal but missed some chances and most concerningly didn't hold the ball up which was his trademark. Other than that no real questions. Cech was again poor today. More so I believe now the play alex fan club should be silenced. Alex was on when both goals were conceded. My thing with Luiz is when he plays for brazil you don't see him making the marauding runs almost at all so obviously it's a matter of system. Avb doesn't stop him from doing that while brazil has a firm grip restricting him from doing it. I don't believe Ramires has looked as good as he did before the injury. Sturridge's assist today was the best pass I've ever seen him make (I'll be the first to admit I think he's greedy). Cech was up and down today. Both goals he conceded were soft with the first being down to him getting caught in between. However the game could've very easily been much worse but cech made some classy saves. I think in all honesty though that lampards time is pretty much done. I believe Lampard contributes from the penalty strike and he makes some nice time runs but just doing that as a midfielder isn't enough for me. I'm not saying he should be full of energy like Ramires but hes just not doing enough. My biggest gripe with avb is the fact that mceachren hasn't seen any time. He can't tell me he didnt anticipate this so I am clueless as to why he's not on loan. It makes no sense he doesn't get any better by riding the bench and playing a reserve fixture periodically. If he's not on loan in January I'll be pissed.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Exactly dude..iam a liverpool fan..i still put torres top of teh list for the striker...the probs torres is now is teh sysytem..and teh midfield..alonso, gerrard bennayoon, kuyt, riera and babel..all feeded wit hhim teh oppeortunity and he scored...just watch his games for liverpool...he just need a half chance to score...most important..he had a beautiful relationship with all teh team members and fans...but till now..he hasnt had that with lampard of otehr cheslea teammates...being a fan of torres..i love him to score goals...once was the highest shirt sellers in EPL now struggling for a match...

Agree1 Disagree3

You need to keep it real,he cant get in the side for the same reason he cant get in the spanish side,hes just not performing,and its nothing to do with the service hes getting,hes was missing easy chances game after game,since he left Pool his form has been crap,our strikers are way behind the front runners in the league,a coupl of quality signings in the January window will make a world of differece.

I normally read this site and don't feel the urge to respond. However, earlier I was in south London watching the game and now, after coming home and reading some of the posts, I do feel the urge to respond. Can everyone please just wait one second. Villas Boas brought on Malouda and Mikel tonight to try and keep things tight. Fine, it didn't work, but getting Hiddink in means we save our season? You should see how Turkey played under him lately.

Kicking Villas Boas out means we're back to the drawing board again and, to be honest, it's just too much. Give him continuity please. Allow a Chelsea manager the ability of saving his job from having a bad month. The only way we go forward is by change, not of management, but by the players playing. The change is going to be hard and tough but it is going to happen.

Yes, there are players who are not good enough at the moment but, please, don't go back to the whole 'sack the manager' thing again. No, keep the manager for once and let him build a team.

I, for one, did not go and sit in the stand at Watford in 1999 and watch us go down 1-0 to read some of the nonsense put up here.

We'll be back. Keep the faith.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

We have sacked managers far to quickly in recent years and should at least give AVB a fair chance, I hope the board are making funds available and already sorting deals for January, the board have failed in keeping the squad fresh and in my opinion have been very short sighted in letting some decent players go Diarra, Parker, Sidwell and Borini all of whom could be doing a job for us at present.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ur stupid owner shud not have sacked ancelloti in the first place. The guy was a class manager, everyone except stupid roman knows it.

Hi Ed, i no its oviously just a way to build up the hype but Lille predident has come out and said the price is 50m euros for Eden Hazard which is roughly £43m pounds. Do you see Chelsea or any club for that fact making a move for the player at that price? Also it is reported that a few MLS sides are interested in Frank Lampard, do you think AVB would listen to offers for the player?

PB

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Ed?

PB {Ed002's Note - Unless an extraordinary bid is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Real Madrid or Barcelona is his preferred destination. PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem. Lampard would like an extension to his contract and any proposals to buy him would not be dealt with by AVB. Chelsea are obviously aware they need a replacement and have been trying to find one for the past year.}

hi ed,

Is there an understanding from the powers that be that the players seem to be the problem and not necessarily the coach?
