Napoli radio report deal for perminant transfers for cavani a done deal €58m

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No. the rumoured deal has already been confirmed as false

Agree0 Disagree0

Just seen this on Eurosport, seems to be confirmed by Napoli, Football Italia and Radio Marte which is the local Naples radio station. Scott M.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could Napoli signing Dries Mertens be a factor in this? Scott M.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Telegraph are reporting this story and that is a pretty reliable paper.

Agree0 Disagree0

How has it been confirmed as false?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is dries martins an out and out striker I thought he predominately played on the left

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave - you're right, he plays in a similar position to Eden Hazard. As for the comment above about how has the rumour been proved false, Cavani's agent refuted the rumour within moments of it appearing.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we all started believing agents then where would that get us?

All in All I am pretty happy with the activity so far. I'm a bit 50/50 with Schurrle but I think ultimately he will offer something a bit different that the rest of the players we have. I think De Bruyne could be one of the most interesting ones for the coming season. It's my understanding that he is a more of an attacking playmaker or winger but I wonder if he will ultimately line up deeper. Could anyone comment on this?

I will be happy if we get Cavani, don't get me wrong - but I can't help but feel we are going about it the wrong way. Cavani is world class around the box, as well as strong fast and powerful. I feel we potentially have that already in Lukaku. Maybe a more sensible option would be to get Jovetic (for a fraction of the cost) as he would offer something completely different than Lukaku or Torres and woudl make us a bit more unpredictable, but that's just my opinion.

Aside from that I think a CM (pivot as everyone is calling them) is a necessity which is why I'm glad to see us linked with Van Ginkel and possibly a CD. What does everyone think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think cech, delac, Blackman goalkeepers. Azpillicueta, kalas right back Ivan back up. Cahill, terry, Ivan centre backs. New signing mangala, Luik back up. Left back cole van aanholt. Def mid romeu, luiz, essien. Mid van ginkel, ramires, mceachran, lamps, Andre gomes. Get rid of mikel. Should of let lamps move on aswell. Wingers attackers hazard, schurrle, de briyne, marin, Oscar mata. Send kaluta and Moses out of chelsea. Cavani, Torres and lukaku. And by that we are sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see De Bruyne very much in the Beckham mold- good at passing, crossing & dead-ball situations but lacking the pace of an out-and-out winger. He played most of last season in the No. 10 role but he will struggle to get time there with Mata & Oscar ahead of him (that is even if Mourinho plays with a No. 10 as the 4-3-3 tends to be played with quicker players in the left/right forward positions). I imagine his primary role next season will be to provide cover/rest for MAZACAR but would like to see him given a shot at the deeper role to see how he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jose won't play with 433 IMO. Maybe vs the man u's city etc if we're 1 up with 10/15 to go he may switch to the more defensive 433, but roman wants entertaining football played on the deck, not launch it up to the big man with midfield runners feeding off the flicks. Which IMO Chelsea did play a lot of under mouriniho. Cfc played to there strengths under mouriniho first time round, and will do again and the players we have don't suit 433 as much as it did before.
He'll stick with 4231.
Cfcmatt.

This is for Marculess wallace who post nonsence on the Utd page:

# Nett Spend 92/03 - 12/13 Purchased Gross Sold Nett Per Season

1 Chelsea £841, 440,000 £248, 475,000 £592, 965,000 £28, 236, 429
2 Manchester City £703, 180,000 £221, 553,000 £481, 627,000 £22, 934, 619
3 Liverpool £601, 005,000 £333, 970,000 £267, 035,000 £12, 715, 952
4 Manchester United £531, 150,000 £317, 740,000 £213, 410,000 £10, 162, 381
5 Tottenham £473, 550,000 £306, 017, 500 £167, 532, 500 £7, 977, 738

Chelsea are still nowhere close to ever been on Manchester United Liverpool Arsenal success levels

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And this proves what?

I find it hard to believe we spent more between 1992 and 2003 than any of those other clubs, as I assume the first number is meant to show, in the 92/03 column? Seems just like a wall of numbers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh wait, the first is a total.

Now I feel like an person. Still, our spending came at a time when there were already many established clubs ahead of us. And don't bring Liverpool or Arsenal into this, so what if they won more stuff than us over the years? What's happened in the last 10 years? That's what matters.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll catch up a fair bit while you lot realise Moyes isn't a winner. Relax :)

I am loving every minute of the Cavani saga. De Laurentis has shot himself on the foot and now he is not going to get anywhere near the personic release clause. I bet we can buy him for around £35m. Proitos

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't mean to be a downer, but if Cavani has another 4 years left on his deal and the release clause expires, then why would they sell him for 35m?

Did u guys see Mikel play for nigeria vs spain. what is you take on his game?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was surprised, he was very forward thinking, looked for his shot and dribbled more in one game than virtually all of his appearances for CFC.
I have seen him play in blue an awful lot but I did not recognise the player Vs Spain.
I think he needs to move to a club that will give him a bit more freedom, both for his sake and for CFCs

Would love see in next season cavani, zouma. kondogbia, or mangala, alonso, goalkeeper bagivic. bernard.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would love to see either Zouma or Mangala, Kondogbia, Cavani, Van Ginkel, and a GK, as well as maybe Bernard if Moses and/or Marin leave.
I think that would amount to a fantastic transfer window, although with players returning from loan I cannot see that many coming in unless a few leave namely the likes of Essien, Mikel, Ba, Moses/Marin, Bertrand possibly amoungst others.

Alright guys, with Lampard, Terry and Cole presumably not having more than a few years left in them, who would you guys like to see as the English core of the team in future?
I know it's slim pickings but I'd hate to see us as an all foreign team one day.

I'd say Cahill (vice captain to Luiz) I really hope mourinho can mould him into a JT quality centre back, he can score like JT just needs to tighten up defensively, Chalobah in a Luiz sort of role and Luke Shaw if he can be prised out of Southhamptons hands one day.

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cahill, Shaw, Chalobah, Loftus-cheek, Rooney?

Be curious to see whether Swift and Bamford turn out to be any good.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hoping that Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek and Baker will have roles to play for us in the future. I'd also like Swift to make it but have my doubts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Team in 5 years time.

Cortious
Azpili, Chalobah, Ake, Shaw
Loftus-cheek, Baker
Boga, Oscar, Hazard
Lukaku.

English core, Chalobah, Shaw, Loftus-cheek and Baker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swift will make it, he's like a mini lampard

Agree0 Disagree0

We do we need an English core? Aslong as a international player is with us or stays in England between 18 to 21 he counts as homegrown.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need one per say but it's nice to have English players in the team I wouldn't like to see chelsea as a team of foreigners

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea were the first ever team to field a team full of foreigners in the prem.
should never be allowed.
Cfcmatt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I just want Chelsea to be a team of winners. Who's fault is it that England is by far the worst of the major soccer league nations at producing world class talent. There are 18 prem league clubs so Chelsea shouldn't feel pressure to force players into the squad who are not good enough, that's what Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and teams like that are for. Through winning European cups were trying to demonstrate the Epl's status as a top league to the rest of Europe and the world. England needs a better youth development system then Chelsea will be fighting other top european clubs for the signature of young English players and be happy to play them because they are genuinely as good as or better than foreign born options.

Chelsea youth products Jeffrey Bruma and Patrick Bamford are to be sent out to Championship clubs on season loans. Defender Bruma is thought to be a Charlton target and Striker Bamford is interesting Huddersfield Town - who are known to be also looking at recently released former Chelsea left midfield and Sweden U19 player Amin Affane.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bruma will be sold this transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last I heard, Eindhoven agreed a 3.5m fee for Bruma. Also, Affane has already signed with a German 2nd division club. Bamford looks ready for a championship loan.
