6 in, won 5, drawn 1 against what is becoming a bogey team away from home for us. I shall take that all Day long. Very sad comments on here from a few posters using very emotional, child like words like "disgusted".! Get a grip and grow up. We are a work in progress and Sarri knows that. Pep and Klopp have a head start on us. 3 or maybe 4 signings needed to be at the very top level but for me, 1 will suffice in the January window. A top level striker. I read ED02's comments on here a few Day's ago and agree with all he wrote.

Why don’t you get a grip? Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

Opinions are fine and they are what makes the site fun and interesting but let’s try to make them constructive!

I remember a poster on this site once said that football draws from all emotions, that's the beauty of the game in my opinion but for the sake of respect and good communication, it's good to keep it constructive like the above poster said (but i must confess that it's difficult at times) .

Yep Obnina, football can drag out some strange emotions.

If we get beat I have the hump for days but we are lucky we win more matches than we lose and we also win lots and lots of silverware!

Happy days!

G8 I'm not going to bother reading the negative comments you refer to. Let's stick to 5 wins and 1 draw. Fantastic start by the team. We should and could have won but it's not the end of the world.

Sarri will soon understand the workload put on players players both league and europa league and maybe changes it around a little. Hopefully we stay in contention for the league come January, if so then we need a striker that can score. Unfortunately we have 2 donkeys who can't score, their stats in 2018 are scary. I had faith in Morata but he seems like his confidence is shot and beyond recovery now. Giroud is a good impact sub only.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Morata at his best never played up top on his own, he always played off a target man, so why not play him off Giroud?}

24 Sep 2018 14:19:59
Ed001, that would have been my change yesterday.

Gone 4 in the middle, switching Kante for Morata and giving the defence more to think about. Hazard and Willian out wide sending in decent crossed to two guys who are excellent in the air too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would have personally dropped Jorginho to do the change.}

24 Sep 2018 14:22:37
Ed001: Good comment and that is what he needs. Being on his own and the attention he gets brings out the petulant and 'falling over' side. Giroud could do a very good job for both Morata and Hazard.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - exactly. Morata looked good as a player cutting in from the right.}

24 Sep 2018 17:41:18
Ed001: what you said about substituting a midfielder for Morata is precisely what I meant when I said said that, 'must all Sarri's substitution be a direct swap? ' Good post you seem to know more about our players than a lot of us that are Chelsea fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I was just having a look at some old footage of Morata as I was thinking he is not playing the way I remember him playing. I noticed on the footage that the games I remember him excelling he played off a striker and the games I remember him looking out of sorts he was the main striker. I thought I had just mixed him up with Dybala in my memory but he actually did play a fair bit in a similar type of way to Dybala. I think that's what is needed once more to get the most out of him. He should be running onto knockdowns, rather than being the one trying to knock it down. The lad has excellent technique and skill, not quite at Hazard or Dybala level, but he was a better finisher in and around the box. Get him back where he is comfortable and rebuild his confidence and I think you will all be glad you have him. Leave him as he is and he will end up being sold for a loss.}

Rudiger injured, Pedro out Willian tired, . Thursday nights proving difficult already.

Perhaps but Hazard has cost us the game. He should have tried himself.

That’s what happens when you don’t freshen it up
Kante has looked lost today
Why Christensen and Hudson-Odoi not on the bench I don’t know.

23 Sep 2018 15:36:58
*The decision not to rest certain players for Europa league was a very unwise decision for me.

*Obviously Pedro is more of a key player to Willian.

*Must every substitution that Sarri make be a direct swap?

23 Sep 2018 15:37:28
At least we had 5 million passes ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 15:53:38
Unlike some of my fellow posters, I’m not unhappy with a point away from home in a London derby.

The RLC, CHO, Christiansen or any other player argument is interesting but I do understand the managers choices both as a starting eleven and the subs bench.

Shame about the Rudi injury but that’s why we’ve got a squad.

Our next two games will be interesting!

23 Sep 2018 16:04:23
Sarri prefers Pedro because his movement and he runs behind. Willian offers so little, he go in behind once at the end and shot went out for a throw in I think. we need s younger version of Pedro, movement vision and also I’d of played Giroud and morata so it’s the threat of link up and someone who’s on last man, unbeaten and still early, bit frustrating but Sarri will get what he wants in time, Barkley impressed of bench,

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 16:30:57
I thought Barkley was unlucky not to start but then again he played on Thursday, so you can understand the starting selection.!

23 Sep 2018 21:35:49
At least Sarri talks sense in the fact that we are at least a year behind Liverpool and city. Hopefully supporters will not be expecting us to challenge for the title this year .

Seeing this so far we missed out on a fekir / Mahrez, . so reliant on hazard, bloke needs help,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Sep 2018 15:21:38
That wasn’t great but still undefeated he’s definitely going to need to rotate this season.

23 Sep 2018 15:25:28
We are moving the ball forward and quicker than last year but falling into the same bad habits up front, poor crossing and tippy tap passing in front of packed defences. We desperately need someone to support Hazard unlock a defence.

Suprised he's sticking with Luiz week in week out, he's a mistake waiting to happen every game!

I thought Luiz was excellent yesterday.

24 Sep 2018 08:49:05
I’m not a massive fan of Luiz but I agree I thought he had a good game yesterday.

I’m pretty much alone in this view but I think GC still has a role at our club. ’.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Sep 2018 10:33:40
You're not alone in that Tom. Experience like GC is essential, be it on the pitch or on the training ground. He's won everything, and having players that have been there and done that is invaluable.

24 Sep 2018 11:18:28
Sihanouk, what I wouldn’t do is play him on the left side of a centre half pairing. For me, that’s when he looks very uncomfortable.
Although did play their in a back three, I was always cacking myself everytime he got the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 14:10:11
Shame morata has zero confidence, at moment we are playing everything in front of West Ham to Giroud's feet, nobody running behind except once hazard did and was unlucky, kante is pressing well but struggling with the ball, Kovacic taking man on but usually just looks for jorginho, Willian needs to get involved, passenger so far, could be 1 down if not for Kepa, we don't want to give these something to defend for.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Sep 2018 14:33:16
We need a Plan B because all that possession is getting us nowhere. What is it with Willian, one week he looks a star and the next as if it is all too much. This is where we need Morata to come on and remind us what we thought we bought.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 15:13:28
I said very start of season we have no goal threat from midfield and got jumped on when Jorginho scores a pen and kante scores v huddlesfield, hazard has quiet day and we are nothing,

I haven't posted few months. Well, I have to admit that I was sceptical about Sarri appointment. Now watching Chelsea playing I must admit that it was fantastic decision. Chelsea is now playing amazing football.
Cheers everyone.

Wow Cahill and Moses over Christensen and Hudson-Odoi on the bench. Disgusting.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

23 Sep 2018 12:51:40
That’s a bit strong the “disgusting” comment.

It’s the managers decision and that’s what he is paid to do make choices.

Let’s try and be constructive!

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 13:18:18
It's a strong experienced bench I think experience is what you need on bench in a game like this.

23 Sep 2018 13:24:39
I’m sorry but if you’re looking at Fabregas as a better player than Ruben now there’s something wrong. Cesc is probably the slowest player I’ve seen put a Chelsea shirt on. His athleticism is appauling. Christensen was brilliant the other night, didn’t put a foot wrong and is dropped from the squad.
People criticised Conte for not playing kids. Sarri is worse, however with all our games won this season I can’t complain. It would be nice to see RLC, Christensen, Hudson-Odoi and Ampadu given chances though.
I feel like RLC will be gone for good in January and in 2 years time we’ll be trying to buy him back for £60m or he’ll be going to City or someone like that. He’s head and shoulders ahead of Barkley and Cesc, I can’t work it out!

23 Sep 2018 13:33:04
I'm not comparing any players just think it's a good experienced bench for a tough away game
That's all.

Disappointingly there isn’t CHO on the bench, he’s the spark we’re missing I’m afraid.

I think we missed Pedro rather than CHO but it’s all about opinions.

ED001, do you know if it was the board or Conte last season who wanted Drinkwater, Bakayoko and Morata?

Cheers mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Conte only had a small input into transfers. The board do not decide on transfers. They negotiate deals. You have a recruitment team whose primary job is to find the players and give their recommendations. There are a number of people involved but Conte never had final say, just an input. His input was mainly about explaining what kind of player he wanted, rather than naming names of players.}

23 Sep 2018 08:53:32
Has there been a change of influence since Sarri has arrived, or has the board perhaps become more willing to spend? At least from my point of view, Sarri has.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Sep 2018 12:04:19
That’s what i thought Ed, imagine if Conte had got some good players in the transfer period, would last season have been a success rather than a disaster?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think Conte was a problem as well. But having better players does tend to help obviously. However Morata has shown he is an excellent player. Bakayoko showed he was too. Drinkwater is a different matter and was clearly bought in the hope he would just fit in with Kante well. However if Conte was the coach you were hoping he was, then he would have found a way to get the most out of his players.}

23 Sep 2018 12:54:03
Very informative Ed. Thanks for clarifying the situation.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

23 Sep 2018 14:18:25
Ed001 yeah I agree he should have managed better and got more, but the first season was special it was a shame we couldn’t kick on from that.
