Sorry guys I have to disagree with you about Modric, he was weakest link in Reals midfield. He is player good enough for spurs but not good enough to be Real Madrid player. Far away from quality of Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Hamsik or Fabregas.Not to mentionXavi, Iniesta, Lampard, Gerard. Even Rakitic is better player. You should watch Serbia vs Croatia game Modric was air in opposition to Matic.

Costa is 2 years younger, possibly £20m cheaper and would command less wages.

With Barcelona ban now on hold think there could be some big changes there this year. Would love us to try and sign fabregas, think he would be perfect alongside Matic. Perhaps a straight swap with Luiz would be good for both parties?

Fabregas would be exactly what Chelsea needs, but I doubt it will happen.
Chelsea doesn't have striker issue, Chelsea has tactical problem with 3 amigos idea where striker is just assistant and back up for 3.ams instead of things being opposite. No striker no matter how good he is can change that. Every single one will look like flop.

I agree. We need to work out how to best utilise the three behind the main striker during pre season or we will have exactly the same problems next season as this regardless of who is upfront. Whatever happened to old fashioned winger taking their defender on and delivering a cross?

Thanks Woody. Somebody finally understood the main Chelsea problem. That's why Suarez&Sturridge scored 50+ this season.
One more thing there's general opinion that JM is forcing defensive football-than people should explain his goal scoring record of more than 120 goals in primera with Real Madrid only 18months a go.
