Andre Villas-Boas' has said there will be no 'radical' changes!
I think there needs to be.
Bring in Falcao Neymar Lukaku VDW and Modric {Ed018's Note - there will be changes but its not like we will have a new starting 11 next season.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Shame that it isn't possible to overhaul *most* of the starting XI. There are still a few I'd keep starting, and a few subs that I've give more time to. But for the most part, this club needs a giant makeover. 2nd place or not, we rarely looked better than average, and when we played bad it was horrendous.

I understand that some players (Drogba, Malouda... *cough cough*) had some legitimate concerns with a certain former manager and indirectly caused him to get sacked. It was obvious that they weren't giving 100% when they played for him and the team suffered for it. But last season they had no reason to show up Carlo. I understand that he got on well with players and went out of his way to appease some undeserving veterans, who in return played poorly. That just proves to me that they've lost it and need to be replaced with younger and more hungry players.

Again, some returning players deserve to start, but quite a few don't. Maybe not a new starting XI, but maybe up to half!

Ed, would you happen to know the reaction of the current chelsea players after the arrival of avb? {Ed018's Note - I would hope they are happy, they have a good manager coming in.}

i agree what is all the hype over modric he good for spurs but average in the list of great midfielders there are at the mo.
villas boas is a great signing but i think if we let sneijder go to city or utd that will be the biggest mistake we can make he is awesome and with Aguero we should just give the boy the money he wants he fits in so perfect bk with torres and he is a tevez like player with van der wiel sorting the rb position and like to see josh mc out on loan in prem with sturridge

Hey ed... with the new coach in place, do you think he will influence the choice of the other supporting staff who would replace those who left at the same time as carlo ancelotti? {Ed018's Note - im sure he will bring in some of his staff}

Chelsea team i would like to see next season mind this managers favourite formation is 4 3 3

P Cech

G Van Der Wiel D Luiz J Terry A Cole

L Modric J Moutinho F Lampard

Hulk F Torres Falcao

players i would get rid of

drogba
kalou
Ferreira
bosingwa
anelka
and few others

Believable2 Unbelievable3

"and few others"

I'd have Malouda on the top of that list!

Agree7 Disagree2

I doubt Moutinho can defend so why put him in holding midfield position? and why leave out Josh, Josh is better than Lampard. And I doubt Falcao can play as a winger.

Agree3 Disagree0

Josh better than Lampard....No way !! Maybe in 3 years but now.. no chance. If he is better than Lampard then 20+ goals from him next season will be something to look forward to

Why do some of our fans & the eds keep going on about modric.
He doesn't score,
He doesn't assist,
His general play is better than average, but thats it.
He goes missing for weeks at a time in the season.
We already have better than him, here at the club & we have potential players (j, Mac), who are going to be 10 times the player he is.
We don't need this average numpty, we are far to good a side for him.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

The interest of every chelsea fan is to have the best creative midfielder and a versatile playmaker. The likes of modric, sneidjer, pastore n juan mata are far much better than j. mac in terms of physical dominance, experience and creativity as well as style adaptability.

Agree4 Disagree2

One reason i think modric goes missing for weeks at a time is that spurs rely on him so much, he's knackered. Everything goes through him, playing with inferior players probably feels it's up to him to make things happen. Wouldn't have that prob at chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree1

Modric is not good enough.
The team would be going backwards, if they signed him.

Just a quick note to say that this is now my first stop for all news regarding Chelsea F.C, and to thank the ed, s for their time in giving us, what seems to me at least, to be the most reliable source of information in respect of all the hype and speculation regarding possible transfers. Ed, 2 can I ask if you have any connection with either the board or agent side of Chelsea F.C for your information is the most informative I have ever read outside of an official source?
So again thanks for all the work I, and I am sure many other true blues appreciate it. {Ed001's Note - he does have excellent connections, I think that is about all that needs to be said. I would kill for the connections he has!}

Chelsea confirmed Andre Villas Boas as their new manager.
The hunt for a manager has ended superbly with a new talented young lad.
Now, we hope for the same for the players. {Ed002's Note - He is an ex-employee of Chelsea, so hardly new.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

He's a new manager. Stop being picky! :)

Forgive me Ed if I don't get too optimistic following your comment about not worrying about Luiz leaving Chelsea, particularly after this site got its take on the Chelsea new coach appointment so badly wrong. {Ed002's Note - Obviously you are not satisfied - so please go elsewhere.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

They did not get the manager situation completley wrong Hiddink looked set to become manager untill AVB made himself available it only happened over the weekend so lay off the Eds if you dont like their info look elswere :D

Realistic Chelsea team for next season...

Cech

Van Der Wiel (Ajax)
David Luiz
Terry
A.Cole

Ramires
Essien
Lampard

Hulk (Porto)
Neymar (Santos)

Torres

Main subs from...
Hialrio, Ivanovic, Alex, Van Aanholt, McEachren, Obi Mikel, Moutinho (Porto), Sturridge, Falcao, Drogba...

* I expect another wide player and another creative midfielder added too.

* Despite his age, if fit, Lampard will start.

* Despite being willing to 'splash the cash' this summer Abramovich WILL NOT be held to ransom for Modric or Pastore.

* Drogba will stay for one more year before going back to Marseille or another European Club.

* Lukaku is possible but will be loaned back for a year replacing Drogba when he leaves.

* Anelka, Malouda, Kalou will all move on.

* Sturridge will play a larger part playing off the right of a front three.

* New centre back (Terry's long term successor) will be signed in a years time.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Could be spot on here with everything you have said. Maybe a more creative player in the midfield though since we have been talking about it for months and everyone from Directors to Fans agrees. But maybe you could be right there too in fairness, we do struggle when it comes to changing things around drastically, the two changes upfront might be our limit in creative changes. Hopefully not though.

Agree5 Disagree0

Team for nxt year

Cech

GVW LUIZ TERRY COLE

MODRIC RAMIREZ PASTORE

ELLIA TORRES NEYMAR

This will bring the kind of football to bring CL to the bridge

Agree1 Disagree4

Finally someone knows what there on about spot on there mate though one thing I dont agree with have hulk on the bench and have Falcao on up front with neymar and Torres I hope Torres starts improving this season. CHELSEA FOR LIFE

I have to make a comment on the way Chelsea FC are being run at the moment, I feel it is absolutely shambolic and the way Mr Abramovich runs your beloved club just makes a mockery of modern day football!! I would be embarassed to associate myself with him 7 managers in as many years and he wonders why you haven't won the Holy grail of European cups in the Champions League. Now i feel the most promising manager in years has made a mistake in taking the job probably a few years too soon because i can guarantee if he hasnt won the CL in 2 years he too will be gone!! Why oh why do you fans put up with this owner.......probably be the money he throws at your club???? Would you not like to win in a more respectable way??? i am sure the new Financial Fair Play Regulations will affect you massively!!
Good luck Anre Villas Boas, you are gonna need it!

Coolhand Luke

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Who do you support? Whoever it is would your time not be best spent writing on their page???

Agree3 Disagree0

Numpty luke:
you sound like a jealous gooner to me.
A billionaire can do what he likes with his money.
The C/L is not more inportant than the title. We have won that 3 times in 7 years.
So, stop chucking your dummy out of your pram & grow up weasel.

Agree4 Disagree0

Well it gets trophies if you look at our record in the past 8 years, look at clubs like arsenal/tottenham etc. what have they done by sticking to their manager and hardly spending a thing, this modern day football, its happening all over the world.. look at city throwing money about go b**ch on their wall, and have a look at russia how they spend their, money.. bore off

Agree3 Disagree0

How many pl titles did we win b4 RA? Most teams would die to have a owner like him, and not just his money but his obvious enthusiasm. Be thankful

Chelsea FC: Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that Andre Villas-Boas will be the club's new manager. He signs 3-year contract & starts immediately.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Also from their website:

"Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time. His ambition, drive and determination matches that of Chelsea and we are confident Andre's leadership of the team will result in greater successes in major domestic and European competitions.

Andre will bring his coaching experience back to a club he is already very familiar with, having previously worked here for three years. He has always been highly regarded at Chelsea and everyone here looks forward to welcoming him back and working with him."

Signing of the season , Illa Boaz will be a sensation to the Premiership. He was my 1st choice for LFC manager and he will inject new life into Torres etc. Have to admit this will put you in the favourites positon for major trophys next season. A lot depends on his signings though, but I do believe he knows exactly who he wants and will bring in some real quality to Stamford Bridge and replace your 30 + brigade. Chelsea may well win the premiership this year with the Mighty Reds a very close second. Good luck to the lad and welcome to the premiership.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Illa Boaz??? Get his name right mate. It's Villas-Boas.

Marca says that Neymar has signed finally for Real Madrid. Well, this gives us the chance of getting Ag ero. He is dozens times better, so lets go for him! I dont think Juve is a real option, and they are only offering 35 millions, but he cost 45!!

Believable0 Unbelievable6

How reliable is Marca? They seem to spout off a lot of nonsense and only get a few things right.

Agree5 Disagree0

I prefer Aguero to Neymar but also I think that Chelsea needs RW or RM.
