granted, this is not the most scientific way of looking at our squad, but I just started a new FIFA game and only brought players chelsea were linked with (apart from subotic, although I remember ed telling us we were interested in him a few years back before we signed luiz) and my team is:
courtois
azpilicueta luiz subotic cole
benat oscar
hazard mata isoc
falcao
and for your information, it works a treat. Roman sign them up !!

Mate I'm with u, but I'll rather have Hummels and Shaw instead of Subotic and Cole.

ED02 Has David Moyes ever been considered for the chelsea job in the past? {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

He was seriously considered if we didn't make Champions League for this season. However, we did and RDM prevailed.

Since we are good in scoring a lot of goals away, then I will cheer hard so that we can kick the hell out of them ...... we will be in the finally for sure, those who are scared can go home and sleep.

The last time we faced this situation (Napoli 2012) I didn't think there was a chance but look how that turned out.

All posters who post any negative comments about my beloved chelsea fc or any part of the club are hereby requested to please leave their names so that a proper banter can be had (like that guy dave). dealing with random negativity from nonamers is quite frustrating. all nonamers posting negative comments would be otherwise considered as liverpool supporters and would be dealt with such.
hey ed, anything new on stephen de vrij of feyenoord or lucas digne with respect to chelsea? have we moved on or is there interest still?

Having watched Mikel play at AfCoN last night, I think he's best suited to a 4-3-3. In our case, say Oscar and Remires/Luiz beside him with Mata, Hazard and Ba up front. That way he wouldn't have to cover much space alone, and can spread the simple passes as well as covering the back four and regaining possession. That was the way Mourinho converted him to play. And I think our coaches dnt give him a little bit of freedom on the pitch. His passes last night were very incisive and forward. He spreaded the ball quite well.
Just an observation.

Why would we change formation for Mikel? Mata is more effective centrally as we all know. Why have Mikel when we have luiz? He can pass, head, attack, score goals, tackle intercept, bit of pace and movement about him. If we played 433 would rather see ramires Oscar and luiz their. BLUEBOY1

ed..just let me know..why do we need jose so badly?..he too would need enormous money wnad would sell half of the players in the aquad..
Y not try to get Klop, or a younger coach with a long term project..
Chelsea don't need quickfix...we need stability..
Jose will come win someting in 2 season...and will eventually cause trouble again with managment and go...and we will be same again..
Agree3
Disagree2
I am not being funny but wasnt avb younger and didn't he have a project. RA wants results and he wants them now so he will probably go for a proven winner and jose is definitely that

Also a lot of what Jose does in the media is done to draw attention off his team if they are going through a bad patch etc. Even now at Madrid, he was being slated for the way he was handling players but they've seemingly put their problems aside and are fighting for each other. And I doubt Mourinho's next job will be for 2/3 years. He's done his merry-go-round of all the top clubs in the top leagues, he's older now and i'm sure he'll want a more permanent job. I doubt his wife and family will want to continue jumping countries every 2 years forever.

with real madrid...what is jose winning this season??
wityh ronaldo, kaka, higuain, benzema, ozil, demaria...what on earth is he winning..
he only want CL..to make him the best coach..
never was a club legend...
changed club in every 2 years...

So Jose needs to win every competition every season in order to be a good manager? He's won 7 league titles in 4 countries and Champions league in 2. He's also won 18 competitions in total. Had an unbeaten home record of 150 games stretching from 2002 to 2011. A win percentage of 69% which is far greater than Alex Ferguson's which is 58%. What more could you want?

I had two wishes: No Guardiola, no Falcao. One's been answered. Get a decent striker for decent money. Dnt want another flop for ridiculous money.

And which goal machine would you prefer to falcao
dave

Wow. falcao is a flop? that's funny because i'm pretty sure most of the world consider him the greatest striker in the world

So was torres 3 years ago....... Wishful thinking but Neymar gets my vote! If not Cavaini! Both younger with more to prove! Both would be nice! DJ
Agree4

Torres was nowhere near the best striker in the world. We bought him horribly out of form, hoping he would get back to his best. That never happened.
Falcao is the form of his career and would not just stop playing well when we signed him. Everyone is paranoid after Torres!
That being said, I wouldn't be too disappointed if we didn't sign falcao. Lukaku is looking like a top player at 19, so he will only improve. Him, Ba and another striker should do next season. This striker may not necesseraly be a world beater like falcao, but a decent squad player.
Wouldn't say no to him though!

I'm not sure how these fancy names of attacking players go by, but i'm rather talking of a number nine, if you know what I mean.
And Messi is somewhat different. He's actually different to all of them.
That's one. Then you've got to consider the possible availability. This takes Messi and CR off the board. RVP, Ronney, Benzema, Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Suarez also.
The rest is the pond where one may look for a possible target. So the list is smth like: Falcao, Cavani, Higuain, Lewandowski, Soldado, Llorente, Jackson Martinez, Hulk, Neymar, Damiao, Gomis, Villa, Doumbia. Some can be added or substracted on personal preference, but this is more or less a list if you are looking for a good striker in world football.
