O well after a awful performance yesterday we have some positives today.We moved 1 point away from Liverpool and arsenal and 1 closer to spurs.

Believable17 Unbelievable1

Well happy with how its turned out to be fair, If we add one more player and Torres starts firing sooner rather than later i can see us finishing 3rd, at worst a comfortable 4th, which id be more than happy with considering

As much as I Love Torres, we need to sell him now before he's an old bloke and we need to sign a reliable goalscorer, a goal's a goal at the end of the day.

Like Andy Caroll?

Just want to put things into perspective a bit. Last season after 22 games we had 3 points less but had a 4 goal plus better goal difference. So we are roundabouts in the same position as last season but marginally better. Its not the catastrophe people make it out to be.

We're in a massive transition period, with a new manager who isn't just taking on old old players and carrying on with the same football, he is changing everything around and changing the way we play. And we're doing all this with Drogba and Torres having 10 goals between them in all competitions this season. We've created the most chances out of any team in the league, once Nando or Didier start finding the net regularly or we get a striker who does then we'll be challenging for the league again. Clearly we're looking to strengthen which is a good sign, i'd be more scared if we seemed content with where we are and what we've got. But we're not, we are looking to improve.

Few more signings and a striker who starts banging them and we'll be challenging on all fronts again.

Head up guys

Problem is it seems like an absolute age that we've been saying that didier and Nando will hopefully find scoring form soon. This team isn't capable of going on a run like we did in the new year last year. It's going to go to the wire for champions league places this year and we've got arsenal and liverpool away in out run in. I would just love to know what goes on behind closed doors. How much change does avb feel is necessary, how much change are the board prepared to make. For me the summer is a long way off and the champions league qualification is paramount. If we fail I can't see the club keeping the manager and we will be back to square one. The club should have been prepared for this window since October. It's no good saying wait to the summer cause were not going to compete with real, barca or man city for players and the list of clubs will be endless if we are not in the champions league. Dreading trying to pick off Sunderlands and west broms best players in hope of trying to get back in the champions league. {Ed002's Note - It is not as easy to complete transfers as perhaps you think it is. AVB is only one of the players in the process and there are always ongoing discussions about players.}

Agree0 Disagree1

It's obvious that this team isn't going to be able to play the way the manager wants so what's the way round this. If we continue to play the way we are we are not going to be in the champions league. If the manager hasn't accepted this then he is deluded. He said he wanted the summer to asses the players. He is an intelligent bloke who had worked with many of the players so should have known there capabilities and limitations. So by now he should have a rough idea where to improve. what is the process he goes back to the board and 30 old farts that know f*** all about football undermine him by saying yes or no to his requests. Our previous managerial appointments have all failed cause they have all been sacked one by one. With procedures like that in place we clearly undermine the manger. But theres plenty more where they came from.

Agree0 Disagree1

Procedures that you just invented? yes it is likely the manager wants more players than the board will pay for but there are peoples lives and jobs at stake if chelsea spend too much and are left in a mucky situation with a high wage bill, debts on transfers etc we could end up in administration. the way the football industry is run is already unsustainable, no one thought a huge bank like lehman brothers would fail...

Agree0 Disagree0

Avb is only one of the players in the process. This is what I'm referring too. So what procedure do you think is in place and do you think it works. How can a manager be accountable if he doesn't have the ultimate say on who is coming into the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much money did we pay Porto for avb, how much have we paid every manager we have sacked. Hardly thinking about people lives and jobs. If we are not going to back a manager and I mean by getting the players HE WANTS then he is simply a scape goat for other people's decisions. {Ed002's Note - That is not how it works, so bleat all you want, it won't change.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Chasing a goal and taking off your centre forward is just a joke in my opinion. Attacking football? pfft

It seems to me we want hazard and he seems open to a move to chelsea(guessing).i dont get our stance yet again ,i know we cant go blabbing about the deal,but if we want him then get him why quarrel about money , chelsea may pay 10 or so million more than worth now but if it gets us a champions league spot then you will basically get yourmoney back.aguero pastore moura and others didnt come because we deemed them to expensive . But we pay torres and luiz good players but 75million please so what ever lille want give it to them we need him more than they need the money.i know we all talk on here as if it is coming out of our savings accounts but if i had it i wouldnt worry about a few extra million at this stage of our worse season for years.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I agree. Speculation of course but based on previous transfer windows, I expect a bid short of Lille's
asking price close to deadline day, followed by refusal to sell and Man City, Real etc snapping him up this summer. Being a cynic of course but happy to be proved wrong! (Won't be staying up on deadline day though).

Agree5 Disagree3

Well said mate of the original post. We should stop being pathetic and dithering about wages and go for what we need

Agree5 Disagree2

Stupid post, you can't just pay what the club & player are demanding, you would be finished as a club in no time.
This kid isn't even proven at the very top level yet, stop getting carried away with hype. If he wants to come, he will come. If he wants to be greedy like tevez, we don't want him. His attitude as already been brought into question, on numerous occaision's & yet he as not achheived anything.

Agree4 Disagree6

Ok we will cdrry on with malouda then i wasnt going on about wages and hazards attitude it was an example ,not to lose further signings for the sake of a few mill

Agree4 Disagree1

It's not fifa, it's real money numpty.

I wrote last time;

Chelsea Squad in a couple of years:

Goalkeepers- Thibaut Courtois, Sam Walker, Jamal Blackman

Defenders- Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, Vincent Kompany, Ryan Bertrand, Jeffrey Bruma, Sam Hutchinson, Tomas Kalas, Patrick Van Aanholt

Midfielders- Oriol Romeu, Kevin De Bruyne, Mario Gotze, Willian, Alan Dzagoev, Ramires, Raul Meireles, Josh McEachran

Forwards- Romelu Lukaku, Milan Lalkovic, Demba Ba, Radamel Falcao

Captain- Gary Cahill
Vice Captain- Ramires

But I forgot to write the starting line up so hear it is:

Courtois

Azipilicueta Cahill Kompany Van Aanholt

Ramires Willian Gotze

Ba Falcao Lukaku

Believable0 Unbelievable18

Haha- cahill captain?
no sturridge mata piazon?
big fail.

Agree15 Disagree0

Loool how can you have three central strikers in the starting line-up. This aint fifa mate !

Agree3 Disagree0

Lukaku left wing?

Agree2 Disagree0

That is Highly unlickely because why would kompany want to come to chelsea (aimining now at 2nd/3rd) when he can win everything with a bright future at city. And Van annholt has got talent but him and courtious arnt proven and could be a flop,but could also be the the new ashley cole/ petr chec
