How about the possibility of signing Falcao and Suarez?

I'll rather Suarez over anyone. The guy works so hard and plays like die. He gives his all on the pitch.

We would be the most hated and probably controversial team in the last 15 years if we signed him ha he is a great plyer though, but our PR couldn't take him playing for Chelsea

PB1989

Suarez will not be coming to chelsea lfc will want 60 mil plus

Falcao

Terry is not good enough any longer. Romeu will never be a first team regular at Chelsea.

Agree1 Disagree2

Omeruo is still young and doesn't have a work permit. Once he gets one I see him going on loan to an English club to get experience. Romeu still needs more experience before he becomes first choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Falcao will not be coming to chelsea

Chelsea played 4-3-3 formation against sparta. It didn't work bcos we went behind unexpectedly despite that they still played beautiful football. For d first time in awhile there were no misplaced passed. This was due to mikel involvement. If not for torres wasting chances. Now we must play to defend against city. My line up 4-2-3-1. Cech
acea. iva. Cahil. Cole.

Midfield:mikel David luiz.
Mata. Hazard. Moses/Oscar.
Bemba. Ba

We don't need lampard to start. He can score goals But apart from that he doesn't do much. He often misplaced too many passes.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Hazard Oscar mata all swapping like we did v arsenal. First half v arsenal we were phenomenal. With mikel andy I I think we can be more solid too. Hopefully.

What do you think of 4321

Midfield of

Mikel Luiz Oscar
Mata hazard
Ba

will torres be leaving in the summer? and is there anything new on on a new stadium or expansion of the bridge?.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Torres will more than likley leave in the summer yes. If you read other posts you would see that somebody has said that in April sometihing is going to be announced in relation to that.

Agree1 Disagree1

Who would have him

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2013 14:21:59
Whether it Torres or Ba - the one striker upfront doesn't work for chelsea.
Just look how Ba wasnt in the Brentford game, I think he had one or two touches. With the strikers we have we cannot play one upfront, they will always be marked out of the game.

ED, not asking about who you think we may sign, just asking for 2 players who you would like us to sign even if we have never been linked to them, thanks.

Mine would be Falcao and Lewandowski.

Like to know other readers as well.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Falcao and Sven Bender for me. Both exactly what we need. Would complement the team perfectly. A close third would be Mats Hummels.

Agree2 Disagree1

Why Sven bender though? lars bender is a lot better would prefer lars bender but my choice would be Fernando

CfcBenWxm

Agree2 Disagree0

Because Sven would suit the system better and compliment the players we have. He is terrific at breaking up play and reading the game. Pair him with Oscar or Luiz (distributor) and we would be on a winner IMO.

I think Dortmund would argue that Sven is a slightly better player than his brother, but to be honest Ben, I wouldn't complain with Lars either. Lars is probably the better passer, but not as intelligent at reading the game. Once again just my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree2

Cavani and Capoue

Cavani doesn't need an explanation, I think he has age and pace on his side over Falcao.

Capoue is a beast, available and priced reasonably.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani and Vidal for me.

Hey,
Torres is terrible at the moment, our worst since Sutton.
BUT we are in third place with him as our main striker, next season we will have a far better strike force, whoever it may be, Falcao, Cavani even Homer Simpson. Imagine what we could do with a team like ours with 2 great strikers included and a couple of our loaned players back.
We all hoped for more this season, all of us did, but i'd take 3rd in the League and no trophy and get ourself set up for a great next season.
This was never going to be one of our memorable seasons from the start. Torres was never going to fill Drogba's shoes and Di Matteo was never going to land us the Treble. we all knew that.
I am really looking forward to seeing who we bring in in the summer, I feel its going to be good.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I guess we'll never know what RdM could of done this season

And drogba didn't wear shoes.

Agree0 Disagree0

'What RDM could have done this season', out coached in Charity Shield and Super Cup, out in group stages of of CL and 7 straight winless before being sacked. We did not look the better team in those losses by dominating the possession and chances like we have under Rafa and we are better organized at the back. It always amuses me how some fans on this site suffer from short term memory.

Interesting stat though. it took us 8 games to get to 24 points, it took us 18 games to get our next 24 points.

Getting points against City this weekend is going to be huge, firstly because catching City is really important but secondly, and more importantly, because not getting caught by Tottenham is an absolute must.

The summer is huge, 4th place and an early Champions League qualification game is most definitely not needed.

I think the following back four should be used.

Ivanovic----Cahill--Terry----Cole

I like Azpiliqueta, for his first season in England he had performed very well but in this game I think Ivanovic is the more solid defender. His physicality could pay dividends during set pieces too.

Midfield.

Ramires--David Luiz--Lampard

Ideally I'd like to see Oscar play but Lampard & David Luiz can't be left out right now and I feel we need Ramires' engine during this game.

Attacking Midfield.

Mata----Hazard

Again Oscar would be unlucky miss out, although I think he has had a bit of a dip in form, you can't leave Mata out because of his ability to score the 'important goal'. Hazard has been outstanding since returning from suspension.

Striker.

Ba

I'm not a massive Ba fan, decent player but certainly shouldn't be our first choice. Having said that between him and Torres he is definitely our first choice and has to start.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

I'm not so sure Tyler. Azpillicuetas speed would be handy against Clichys overlapping runs.

With Terry only just coming back from injury and Ivan and Cahill not known for their speed, I wouldn't mind having Luiz back at centre half. Especially up against Aguero and Tevez.

I think Mikel needs to play central but god knows who to put him with. His pairing with Ramires doesn't work, and Frank isn't on the top of his game either, except for his goals, his passing has been poor this season and his positioning has been shocking at times. So just put both names in a hat and pull one out. That's got to be a better system than Rafa uses. And as much as I'd love a centre 3 we all know it will be a 4231.

Moses is needed in this one as we will need width. Personally I'd have Hazard on the left with Oscar central. I know Mata has been our best player this year but he does look tired. And every time he has come off the bench this year our game has drastically improved, so maybe a halftime swap with Oscar if it isn't working. Or Moses and move Hazard to the right (not that it matters).

Ba upfront. Nuff said.

Agree4 Disagree3

Good post melbourne

Agree1 Disagree1

Really, pick from a hat between Ramires and lamps to put next to Mikel. Ffs didn't we just spend a whole year complaining about the Lamps/Mikel midfield and how Mikel is always left exposed because Lamps is terrible defensively. Didn't Ramires have his best run of form this year after RDM finally moved him from rw to central next to Mikel? c'mon Melbourne, if Lamps is not scoring/ poaching (he is still good at it) he might as well be on the bench. And please, no more free kicks for Lamps, his last 5 or 6 were low and hit the wall, with a short midfield and his ability to find goals he should be in the box.

Bluelab

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, Mata has dropped off recently and Hazard has been stepping up along with Oscar. Ba has to start as does Luiz but in CM his passing means so much for this team. We are so pedestrian and sideways when he doesn't play, he at least plays it up further up the field which then means Mata, Oscar, Hazard start with the ball closer to the goal than at the bloody half way line.

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha it was very much a tongue in cheek comment Bluelab mate. I love rami, I think he has a lot to offer, but, his passing is atrocious at times. If rami is going to play a central box to box role he needs a pairing with someone who can break and play and has top draw passing. John Obi has one of those to traits, but without both, the pairing doesn't work.

Maybe Tyler and PB are right and Luiz needs to play there. I just think it will leave us lacking pace at the back. I agree that Lamps need to be on the bench, no doubt, but honestly we need to sort out the holding role, especially when my man Romeu is out long term. I still believe he is the answer. Just needs a run of games and some confidence.

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the loss of Luiz from CM and what he adds in comparison to the options we have in defense he needs to play CM. City haven't been good recently and the teams they faced i'm guessing haven't got lightening CB's if we defend as a unit and play a tight organised line then Luiz won't be needed in central defense. Easier said than done though ha

Says a lot that our so called CB is probably one of the first names down on the team sheet at CM, reinforcements in this area in the summer are a must either through returning loan players or purchases.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good points Melbourne, I was only thinking about the defensive side of the ball as it relates to a tough opponent in Manc.

Bluelab

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we'll set out like this
Cech
Azpi Iva Cahill Cole
Luiz Lampard
Oscar Mata Hazard
Ba

With Lampard and Iva rested against Sparta it's obvious that Rafa intends to start them. Personally I agree that Mata should start on the bench for Moses and come on later if needed, but I think Rafa will try to put out the strongest team possible to try and close the gap. I'd have Luiz play more as a DM so Tevez and Aguero can't exploit the lack of speed in defence.

Do u really need to say that? It's now so boring. Let's put up with what we have and see how strong we can end the season. Hopefully there'll be improvements next season.

Agree5 Disagree7

Boring? I thought he was very entertaining last night. Never fails to deliver. With each passing game he works hard to nulify the chance of being sold next season. I think we will be lucky to loan him out next season with the quality he puts out.

This site is for airing opinions so if that's how the original poster feels then it his opinion and should be able to air it. So yes he does need to say it, as you feel you need to reply. free speech I say

Unfortuantly Dave the airing of opinions are becoming more repetative going over and over again about how bad Torres is and how poor the team is playing atm.

What I've realized recently, Torres has the mindset of a natural striker, he has the predatory instinct too, you can see that with some of the positions he gets himself into. However, his brain does not at all coordinate with his feet, it's as if the message conveyed gets lost in translation. I mean we can see that he can head the ball pretty well, but he can't score through his own work. If you think about his goals this season, it usually comes from just making a connection with the ball, not really through trickery or a dribble. If you saw the game against Sparta Prague, it was clearly evident, he took up good positions, but looked like he had both his shoelaces tied together. Just wondered if any of you agree.
