This is going to be very controversial but Jorginho. As much as I like him and appreciate he has had ana amazing stsrt to the season, he’s not as good as everyone says he is. Don’t get me wrong I think he’s currently one of the best in the league and without him we’d be a lot worse however I just can’t agree with the fact that he doesn’t ever make mistakes and he’s the key to our team. He’s consistent but nothing special like Kante. He’s very good at what he does but he does make mistakes when passing, he can’t run that fast and his attacking play isn’t very good. Not criticising him at all as I haven’t mentioned his multiple positives but I’m just saying what I think.

Everyone’s opinion should be treated with respect and without doubt Jorginho has started well but like all new players, he will have to cofirm his start with a strong seasons performance.

Let’s hpoe it ends with a trophy or two!

Some of the best central midfielders are not so quick, they play more with their head and precision and I think Jorginho has both. I do not agree with you CFCboy.

I don’t agree either. Jorginho is vital to Sarriball. No he’s not fast but like the above poster said you don’t need to be as a CM. Pirlo wasn’t neither was Xavi or Iniesta and he’s got too players either side in Kante and Kovacic who will help him out.

Have to agree with the original post. Don't get me wrong obviously he makes mistakes, almost everyone does. But he is one of the smartest players on the hall we've had in reason times, everything he does is with purpose. I think his pace isn't the best but his positioning is good. Passing exceptional and awareness reminds me of Cesc on a good day.

Players like Jorghino usually get credit when something has been achieved because they go about their work quietly and are rarely eye catching. He thinks quickly, passes beautifully and reads the game well and a comparison with Kante is unfair as they are completely different players. Kante is eye catching because he is something of a 'Billy Whizz', here, there and everywhere. He breaks up attacks, drives forward and covers the whole pitch during a match so becomes more noticeable. Personally I do not like to see Kante push as far forward as he has done this season as it is putting greater pressure on Kovacic and Jorghino.

Not that I’m coriticismg him I’m just not agreeing with everyone saying he’s amazing. Everyone on hear is right in what they said how you don’t need to be fast and he is a very good CM and I agree. But during the game the over night the commentators were praising him how he’s the best in the league at the moment and how he hasn’t made a single mistake but I can see a few mistakes he amde.

The problem I have with Jorghino is that Kante has had to move into a position that doesn't suit him.

Yea Miss Darren Wood, you are correct about Kante and Jorginho, and cos of that I sometimes feel that Chelsea's ideal midfield shape should be this-🔼 rather than this-🔽 (considering Jorginho's inability to win the ball: where Kante gets to partner Jorginho as one of the two deep playmakers) .

I know a lot of you won't want to admit it and as much as I have been impressed by his display so far this season, Jorginho reminds me a lot of Fabregas. Discuss.

Well yesterday when Jorginho came off and Fabregas came onto replace the who tempo changed.

Jorginho is quicker at distributing the ball first time and has legs to run. Big upgrade on Fabregas who is aging now.

I agree Shak that Jorginho does seem to move to ball forward quicker but I’m not sure about him having legs to run?

A sprint between Cesc and Jorginho would be like watching treacle running down a wall.

Don’t think Jorginho is as slow as Cesc by any means but he is slow. Thing with Jorginho is is that he knows where’s to position himself in that role. He’s intelligent at reading the game like Pirlo so he can get away with it especially if you have two box to box midfielders either side in Kante and Kovacic.

Fabregas always needed time and space with average pace to play and as he has aged there has been emphasis on time and his pace is now slow so is clearly a bit player. Jorghino is a quick thinker and can do so in a confined space albeit he is not that pacy. Neither are particularly good in the tackle. I'll take Jorghino every day.

Morata has zero confidence, the frustration is showing now, just like last time. Not good, we pretty much have a second striker we can't rely on.

He’s mentally fragile it seems. When he first came in last year his movement and hunger was incredible. He’s been a real good player but he’s going through a rough patch at the moment.

I’m hoping he’ll make it through but it’s not looking like it, what are your thoughts on him ed01?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he has the ability but I have to agree with you he seems to be very mentally fragile. However he is still young enough that can be dealt with. Drogba was struggling at the same age. I would want to get him working with a psychologist to boost his confidence and give him some more time.}

Good shout ed, I would be surprised if Chelsea haven't arranged that as of yet for him. When he is usually falling to ground easily it's a massive indication that he won't score in that game.

On the flip side, if we can still be contention by December then maybe we can buy a striker to cover for Giroud.

Not having a good time at the moment but I remain convinced he will come good.

Or, maybe that’s just me being stupidly hopeful.

Who was worse? Morata or Torres?

{Ed0333's Note - it’s a close call

So far Morata. Torres scored one of our most important goals ever. but let's wait and see.

We could add the likes of Robert Fleck or Chris Sutton to the list and ask ask a broader question!

Who has been Chelsea’s worst forward purchase ever?

Add Derek Johnstone, Duncan McKenzie, Pop Robson, Mark Falco, Mick Harford, and not forgetting Gordon Davies, should all be added to that list!
