Who do you think will replace Terry when he leaves I mean are there any decent centre backs available

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes. Cahill.
TcBlue.

Agree7 Disagree1

Cahill is quality, with the potential to be world class. Luiz always looks better playing next to Cahill.
These two for the future with one of Kalas/Chabolah to deputise with Ivanovic. I think Ivanovic will play more centrally as he gets on, with Azpilicueta taking his spot at RB in the forseeable future.

Hass

Agree5 Disagree0

Tomas Kalas who is on loan at Vitesse looks a very good prospect, i cant see why we wouldnt be ready for the first team squad next year. We have Chalobah and Ake who are exceptional talents waiting in the wings also.

PB

Nick Griffin - a like for like replacement.

ED002 Falcao dropped another hint today which looked as though he said he wants to join Chelsea has nothing at all changed? {Ed002's Note - No, nothing has changed. What are you expecting?}

Where did you read that?

Ed061, I hear Piazon nearly went out on loan. Which teams were interested and where was he going to go?

KiwiRed {Ed002's Note - None. There was no such thought - perhaps one of the Eds has been feeding you BS.}

21 Oct 2012 19:28:42
Ed do you think we may look to send Piazon on loan in january {Ed018's Note - the only way he will be loaned is if it is to an English team, he can eventually be considered home grown. i'd expect a loan for next season}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed, I have concern and don't get me wrong love way were playing and we are looking good but my concern is we go out and really want and get players like Marin, Moses, Azpi but have yet to make any kind of effort to get them in. If we suffer any injuries they are not game/match fit and ready. I know its a long season and competition is fierece to get into lineup but we could at least have them sub in from time to time and get match fitness. Even against the buds with a lead we bring in Sturridge, not Romeu or Moses..... Not sure how they will become ready if we don't use them at all?

Agree2 Disagree0

Dude i'm not sure what type of reply u expect from ed for that question that is up to RDM. I agree with what ur saying, instead of bringing in lamps, who's already proven, for token minutes why not prepare a young player to step in at and important position like rb or dm. But we have a good sqaud and cup ties upcomming and have seen those players along with piazon get to play in those matches, we just haven't had many of those matches thus far.

Ed - How much will the Financial Fair Play rule effect Chelsea's spending.

Also how much revenue did Chelsea make last season ? {Ed002's Note - I have previously explained the FFPR - try the search function. The figures for last season will not be available until the spring.}

Chelseas most underrated player has to be Mikel, works so hard for the team and does all the work that others don't/can't.
Problem is when his level drops we suffer. Our weakest 20 mins Vs Spuds coincided with Mikels weakest 15-20 mins, he lost possession cheaply 3-4 times in a short space of time, and struggled with his positioning.
My concern is when he goes off to the ACON will we cope? We have Romeu but he has never been fully tested against stronger opposition, I am certain that he will step up but will he manage it in such a short space of time?

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Romeu is great he played last season against man city when we won 2-1 so he's already shown that he's more than capable of filling the role.

Blue con

Agree3 Disagree2

Honestly can't see how he could be worse. Worse case senario is he plays the same inconsistent game but imo Romeu is more active, better in the air, better passer and at least a threat to score.

Agree5 Disagree1

Underrated? we paid alot for him and hes probably worth 10 million at most. he has more poor to average games than he does half decent. he does run quick or make breath taking tackles, if he does he gives away a foul. he cant head the ball or run with it, ramires makes him look better. very rare he passes forward, when he does he gives away goals, (juventus & spurs) no ergency and lacks a football brain. eveyone says he has a good game for making a tackle and forward pass. yet lampard makes 5 tackles and 20 forward passes hes claimed to be past it. i suggest watching last few season reviews he is nothing on romeu,

Agree1 Disagree5

Last poster i was with you till u brought up Lamps who is clearly not a DM and would imo be much worse in that position than Mikel so please just stick to the subject of Romeu.

Well we have really tough fixtures ahead of us now
Our next three fixtures are shakhtar donetsk(away cl), man utd(epl), man utd(league cup)
i guess home game against man utd in premier league will be the most important in all three though all three games are important
i would really like few players to get rest against shakhtar donetsk and get fresh and ready for the biggest clash next weekend against man utd in premier league
i would like torres to get rest against shakhtar as he really looked tired against tottenham and get read for weekend
also i would like cole n ivanovic to get rest and bertnand and azpi to get in team against shakhtar
also mikel and ramires should get rest and lampard and romeu should step in
as terry will be available he should be back in place of luiz who also needs rest
oscar should also get rest and moses should step in
about hazard and mata i guess both should play for next two matches and should be rested in league cup game against man utd

Right this soft approach to Torres needs to stop. He's 28 he can take some criticism.

We spent 50 million bloody pounds on this guy, and for a season and a half he scores about 10 goals. That, for a striker considered to be world class, is just pathetic.

So we build a team around him and make him our main man. Now he is scoring a couple here and there but he has completely lost his composure in one on one situations when he has time to think.

Also he drifts all over the place way too much. In this system he doesn't need to create anything, he's got the 3 behind him to feed him. What he is doing on the wing and outside the box when we have the ball, God knows.

And he goes out to the press and says last season he didn't care if we won, because he was mistreated. The only reason he was mistreated was because his goalscoring and general play was appalling!

He's the highest paid player at the club and he's our record signing. You don't pay 50m quid on someone who will 'show signs' of playing to their full potential. You pay 50m on a guy to score goals, in any system, no matter what.

Be it Neymar or Falcao, we need to replace Torres.

Oh and before you lot say not to get on his back, it's just so frustrating that this guy is finishing so badly and says the things he does. I've just had enough of him.

Tim

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Agree entirely. £50M and you expect one of the best lplayers in the world. He's been a real disappointment. As a Man U fan, I see Chelsea as the major force this year after some quality signings...but you lack a quality striker. So pleased that Drogba left.

AJH

Agree4 Disagree4

Why havent you gave a mikel speech hes been rubbishe for 8 years

Agree4 Disagree3

Tim, you're a bellend, im happy with torres' scoring this season.

Agree1 Disagree3

You won't be so happy when we play against top quality opposition and Torres lacks composure enough to score a vital opportunity.

When he is in behind the opposition defence with open space and just the keeper to beat, he does look like a rabbit caught in the headlights. At the moment it's not such an issue as we are winning consistently regardless. But it could and probably will cost us at some point.

Pretty sure the club can see this and will look for another striker in January. Efforts will be made to sign Falcao, and I think we all know who would start out of him and Torres.

Chelsea will want to be the best that they can be, currently Torres just isn't good enough.

IB.

Agree3 Disagree0

Haha to that unnamed poster. Happy with his scoring? How about all the missed chances? Against the better teams he simply won't get as many chances, and with his poor chance conversion rate he won't score. IB is right, when he has time to think he is just shocking. Really don't know why you lot love Torres so much.

-Frank to go in the summer
-Ash to go in the summer
-Mr.Terry to go the next summer

Why,why,why?

Barcelona cope well with their older players we need them maybe not Ashley with Bertrand and van Aanholt but Frank and John ?I know the team is evolving but we need to show some respect to our Legends ,they have given so much for this club!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I can understand why they would let Terry go due to the ferdinand rubbish that damaged Chelsea's reputation, i do hope Cole stays tho. And Lampard is just too old now, we have better players in the attack then him and he is not a good holding midfielder. And the old people from Barcelona plays very well.

Agree2 Disagree0

If there not good enough they dont play simple. its what should happen in the national side let the older players leave and let the young ones come though

Agree3 Disagree0

Jt we need hes a leader, lamps no longer needed especially with his wages, would be nice to keep cole but if he aint happy with a 1 year deal then move on. BLUEBOY1

'maybe not Ashley' the only one of the three who has still held his form and is most coveted by other teams...i stopped reading ur post at that point.

Frank Lampard is reportedly closer to LA Galaxy move.

DeLaRusso

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He's getting on and fair play he's been great and i'd be sad to see him turn out against us and in the states he wont. (unless in friendly before anyone comments) he'll will come back as an ambasador no doubt and will eventually go in to coaching.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well said last poster. Lampard is part of our great clubs history and has been one of, if not they most consistant midfeilders of the last 8-10 years. What ever decision he or the club makes, I wish him all the best and thank him for a great service and many an important goal. Supper frank, good bless and thanks!

Ed061 and 018 yesterday did you see the Man u match ,whoever were the commentators were jacking off throughout the match.At the end they even said that the Trio of RVP,Rooney and Welbeck are the best attacking trio in the world and Man u has the best attack in the whole of Europe.Common ed,the bias towards them has to stop they are a pretty average team.Agreed they beat Stoke 4-2 at home ,but this is ridiculous. Ronney and RVP are playing well right now.Welbeck is a very average player.
But to say that they are the best in Europe above Us ,City,Barca,RM,Munich,Juve is just bonkers.Time and again they have been smashed by Barca but the shameless people have the balls to say that they are the best every time.I hope we smash them in the next two matches.
roan {Ed018's Note - not a whole lot anyone can do about the commentators. Maybe they are United supporters. Take a deep breathe Roan. As long as we take 3 points next Sunday I don't care what they think}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Not a fan of Chelsea or united, I also noticed the commentators getting overly excited should I say about them, I agree that uniteds defence/midfield ain't the best but attacking wise they do have real quality up front, Rooney will always score 20 odd goals a season same with persie, I don't rate welbeck very much but he looks like he can score 10-15 goals a season and same with chicho, Chelsea on the other hand have without doubt the best 2 attacking midfielders in the prem at present in hazard and mata with Oscar still learning, Torres I feel lets u down though, I would take Rooney or van persie any day over him, now if u sign falcao then u will be pretty much unstoppable, for me barca and real m are the two best teams in world football

Agree1 Disagree1

Barca maybe but Real just on paper atm because their form this season so far hasn't been great. Maybe include a Byern and we'll see where we stand at seasons end.

When we was 2-1 down yesterday I looked at the bench and I was a little worried we don't have a game changer sub yet, arguements will start we have Marin and Moses, but they haven't played much and I don't think they would spark off a new fight if we are down. Thoughts?
One Bomb Tom

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Ok so Sturridge didn't come off the bench and score? Our bench compared to spurs yest was hardly weaker. We got options mate, don't worry!
Marley {Ed061's Note - I think Moses would offer a tremendous amount as a 65 mon sub if we were done. He adds a hole different dimension to the side by using width and pace. Generally we play narrow unless the fullbacks overlap. Marin has the ability to beat a man, he is completely different from the starting 3. He isn't as much a pass and move, he prefers to move past people.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Spot on ed.. Width is certainly something we've missed and them two give us that option again. Ive gotta say the club have been damn clever when buying players in the last 12 months. Good times.

Ed's in your opinion, what Chelsea players won't be offered new contracts once there's expire? You mentioned Cech previously what others are there.
Thanks
One Bomb Tom {Ed061's Note - It will be assessed on a case to case basis, if the player is still playing too a high standard they will be offered a deal. If we feel that they are no longer required we would not offer them a new deal. You can expect that in next 3 years that JT, Frank and Ash will more on, as well as Cech and possibly Ivan.}

Didn't like the way walker acted out against mats yesterday, I can Understand him being pissed off by mats giving him the run around. However there is no need for the agression he showed towards Juan. {Ed061's Note - I think Juan got him back mate. Juan is a very very calm character, Walker is n arrogant flog. Juan wouldn't of given it a second thought, was too busy winning 3 points.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Yeah I saw how he reacted and it was commendable, I don't support Chelsea am an lfc fan but I watched the game and couldn't believe how petty it was! {Ed061's Note - You have to realise Walker is an arrogant, overrated flog. He was being taken to the cleanest and didn't have the mental strength too keep his calm. Mata would have known that by walker doing that, he had wiped the floor with him all day and Walker finally blew his lid. It was a disgraceful act nonetheless.}

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Oct 2012 14:44:53
Walker was just being the kid that he is. Shooting the ball at Mata and at point asking Mata to come and score - hmn, very childish. He simply wanted to out-muscle Mata but should have known there's more to football than just physical strenght. Juan was simply a thorn in his flesh.

The game against spurs showed our quality and how much fight our team has. Two things have changed this season 1) Our style of play is more elegant. 2) We have more desire to win when have gone behind.

Torres works hard for the team, we can't expect him to score in every game. Plus we have goals everywhere in the team.

Mikel comes under to much fire when he makes a mistake, but doesn't get praised enough when he plays well.

Mata has taken over Drogba's role of inspiring the team to play better and keep fighting till the end.

Oscar is probably one of the most important players in the team, he tracks back more than the other forwards allowing Mata or Hazard to stay up at times and he links up play well.

Hazard, Mata and Oscar will get better the more they play together, Hazard and Mata are already in sync, Oscar as well but not as much as those two.

Our defence is good but we need to be better, close down people more often and track players better. Luiz is fantastic but needs to be more stable at the back.

All in all our team doing great under RDM if we can maintain this form through out the season the sky is the limit for us.

Well i am not fan of JOHN OBI MIKEL.........
but i really appreciate the hard work he is doing for us.......
i just do not know if it's just bad luck for him........
he really played well against spurs.......
but again found on wrong side for the second goal......
mikel tried to pass ball to ramires-instead gave miss pass to huddelstone-den lenon-den defoe-n den goal for spurs.......
i think our defender's are also doing lot's of mistakes but as goal's were not scored on their indivisual mistake's the question's were not raised about them......
but mikel i just feel sorry for him........

samrat {Ed061's Note - He also played a forward ball to hazard who put Mata in mate. He role is a thankless one as RDM said and been getter better each game.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Samrat..... stop using so many ...... thank you........

Agree2 Disagree0

As I mentioned yesterday, Mikel had a very good 1st half but played poorly from 45 min to about 75. (He blocked a shot that might have scored) Now although the team as a whole started the 2nd half poorly, his thankless position is vital to our defense and mistakes or poor play usually cost us big.

BTW, my grade of poor play for Mikel is usually due to what I perceive to be a lack of effort like standing around, not taking players on or putting pressure, not running hard or at full speed, if a play gets behind him he won't go in the box as an extra defender at times...etc. The opposite of Luiz imo who will charge frwd or make the odd rash tackle(this year it has been better) but to my eyes looks like he's playing hard. I can't recall the last time I saw Mikel flat out out-classed or out-paced on the pitch when he's trying his best, just doesnt seem to me to work hard like Ramires does and again i think his thankless position requires it.

Rant over.

but still JOHN OBI MIKEL is not on score sheet........
well i am backing MIKEL to score a goal.......
come on MIKEL !!!!!

SAMRAT {Ed061's Note - Hahaha I like it Samrat 1 goal every 5 years would be a decent return IMO}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

He is tall but i wonder y he is not been use in a box during corner..

Agree2 Disagree0

Because he has to stay back due to Luiz, Cahill, terry and Ivan always in the box as they are better headers. He waits for the clearance from the opposition or can attempt to break up a quick counter.

I hate the fact that Man UTD always talk about their history and how we spend money to "buy" our trophies, when they bought RVP, the top goal scorer in the epl for 24 mil, that's trying to buy a trophy. Chelsea do spend money that's a fact, but having good players doesn't mean that they will gel and win, hard work goes into making our team successful.

Zen11

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Man utd fans are fickle they spend 28m on Ferdinand, 24m on RVP 24m on Rooney, they have had some come through there youth but not like they did in the 90's so I agree they speak a lot of crap!

Second big buy will be a DM. Busquets, Vidal, Sweisteiger, Khrdira all being considered. Only cole will be iffered a new contract. Lamoard and terry will move on. Expect a small bid for Ganso {Ed061's Note - I wouldnt expect one word of this to come true in all honesty mate, except MAYBE cole to get a deal and Lampard to move on.}
