I think in light of all the hype and optimism, we need to understand something clearly. Some of us goin on like bringing in mata would magically make torres the top scorer of the league. It's not simple as that, he's not coming as support cast to the torres show, but as a player in his own right. We need to support the lad and give him his time to shine.

the signing of mata shows that roman abramovich loves this club and only wants the best for cfc, come on AVB lets win the prem and champs league lets give roman his desire of the magical double this great club deserves and yourself andre to be a great legend at this club, you can do it i'm sure avb.

i dont like mikel in the team his ball distribution isnt great id be happy to sign mata a tricky winger or can play in the number 10 position last season he had 9 goals and 15 assists thats the quality we lack then for modric he would be perfect his range of passing vision and his work rate is just what we need i was shocked to see he had something like 3 goals and 4 assists in prem last season so i compared him around the world and found out that xavi only had a handful of goals and about 8 assists and in my opinion hes the best centre mid in the world so dont panic about modric not scoring goals i just hope he starts attacks doesnt pass sideways as often as the lumps we got now and realy gives us a passing game .i would love a new dm aswell the way i view football is i would want my dm to be in the mould of say xavi alonso a great passer of the ball and a base to form attacks i see to many dm who are dreadful at passing its scary

You are right there are many defensive mids in europe that can't pass and mikel is not one of them altough i agree he does pass sideways too much but he has really impressed me under avb and im sure im not the only one.

Modric is not the answer, he is only just above average.

As exciting as it is to potentially het mats and then modric I still think another winger would be good, and with the players man city have... Think we should bid for Adam Johnson. Good english young fast skilful gets goals. But good news about Mata Come on Chelsea

I think chelsea will paid for this mistak because there is no player in the EPL to chaleng him.

Mate aguero is 2 greedy jes why doesnt any one realise weve got big money earners who will leave next year now. then we can think about giving people better wages. jsut because he scored 2 against swansea, well see for the rest of the season. i bet he doesnt score more than 18

Based on last season and the performance of today, it just doesn't look like Lampard can do that proper box to box role week in week out. I for one think that he can be moved back in the midfield, especially when playing against the lesser teams at Stamford Bridge and then not have to play Mikel or any other out and out defensive midfielder. I still think Frank has a role to play in the team, but he isn't contributing enough to be that main attacking man from a midfield berth. We don't need to play a DM at Stamford Bridge against a team that is only going to play on the counter and isn't going to bomb men forward. Stick Lamps in the 'quarterback role', spraying passes out, moving the ball forward (rather than sideways which seems to be a compulsory tactic for our DM) and having a few digs from range and then place a far more creative midfielder (Modric for example) as the attacking midfielder from deep.

What do you guys think?

Modric and Ramires are both box to box players in my eyes. That's fine though; they both do it week in week out for 90 minutes. Lamps to hold deeper this season, with someone like M'Vila in next year. It's always nice knowing we'll have Essien back by New Year too (fingers crossed). Josh Mc to get more minutes, but he's just not a starter yet. 20+ games in all competitions this year, and maybe more next year?

After the game today I've simply give up on toress.
I as have most Chelsea fans never wished so hard and much for a player to score or even show star quality that u should be getting from a £50million pound player but Iam afraid I agree now we should cut are losses and sell to maybe ANSI lol and see what we can get sorry but defo another shevcenko and looks like we will get modric,rather sneijder myself

O yeah because he got so much service didn t he. its chelseas midfield what are useless. who is creative out of lamps, mikel, and ramires non of them. our wingers? kalouless? noo dont think so. this is why were in the market 4 mata and modric, possibly a right winger 2 nob

It's not torres' fault, he can score or even get chances if nobody is capable of giving him the supply he needs, i believe mata should change that.
