Guys, pls let's stop the hate. Just support for all our players, at least for once it looks like we have a team! Everybody did well, and Mikel was by far our second best player on the pitch. Did u see him 'driving' with the ball? At one point I felt it was Abou Diaby.

Im sorry, its good you back our players, mikel was no where near 2nd best today, cech, mata, hazard, oscar, cahill, cole were all better. mikels mess up 4 the 2nd goal. it annoys me that romeu is left on the bench & gives alot more to the team in every apartment apart rom holding onto the ball.BLUEBOY1

What i hate Basics is people that throw around nonsense labels, I thought this was the banter page for Chelsea fans not a love fest or dating site. Once that ball is in play every fan is rooting hard for our team to succeed however we also critique team and individual performance after the game and talk about ways we think our team can get better. If u disagree with what someone saw then explain ur reason why but don't tell us what to think and label it as HATE.

Basics you don't know what hate means. We're criticising, not hating.

If we become as clinical as Man City we will extremely hard to beat. I love Torres, but how come his confidence to take risks and shoot early still hasn't come back.

That is the only part of his game missing mate.The rest of the stuff like his off the ball running,dribbling and runs are brilliant.His creation of space is also excellent.But I think last year and a half of criticism and bench warming has dented his confidence big time,so much so that he is afraid to miss and is over thinking his shot making.But with a few more goals he would probably be back to his old self.But his contribution to the team and the way the top four are linking up is unquestionable.Just needs to shoot more.He will be back to his best.
roan {Ed061's Note - He will never get back to his old self IMO roan, but he is a far more complete player now, just a far less potent striker. We have had 13 different goalscorers this year, which goes to show the system we are playing doesn't need someone playing in the normal no.9 role.}

Totally agree with Ed, as long as we continue playing the way we are and Torres is putting his shift in, I don't really care how many goals he scores.

It started last year when his confidence was shot to pieces, he no longer had the belief he could score like he use too. It didn't work for him last year, but luck would have it, his new style of dropping back into midfield to receive the ball, his tracking back and his ability to create space for the magic men to work in, is top shelf stuff.}

Hmm I see were you are coming from ed ,even though he is not as lighting quick as he was in his pool days he is still quick enough to get into one on one situations with the keeps and keeps the defenders on their toes all the time .But he is definitely hesitant while he is shooting and he is over thinking when he tried to curl the ball into the goal today he definitely put his heap up to look for options and was a bit hesitant before shooting and narrowly missing,these were the chances he would take in his sleep during his pool days.
His improvisation for the goals was awesome during his pool days now we do not see it only once he did hit against Newcastle this season.
It is a complex one ,but as he keeps his all round performances up I will be delighted to see him play.

The issue i have with torres and you could see it yesterday is the fact that when the ball goes down a wing hes rarely ever in the box, or is just standing at the back post. and with the formation we play the striker always has to be moving in the box otherwise its just empty. {Ed061's Note - I do agree at times he could see that the cross was coming in but decided to stand on edge of box. You have to understand though mate, Torres does need to score for us to win, and his off the ball movement is something that is his strength. People will always moan if he doesnt (not aimed at you) but with the team we have now he is perfectly fine playing his new style. Once it starts costing us (it won't IMO) then we can give dan a run.}

I believe the way chelsea are playing at the moment Di Matteo will get the sack and my dad who is a courier, has seen Roman with AVB in London which suggests the master could be heading the way back to the bridge. {Ed061's Note - Hahahaha your dad is taking the piss. A brilliant performance by the players especially by Mata and Hazard.The rest bar Cole and Luiz were good.Cole and Luiz had a mixed game for me.Some of the tackles they made were fantastic but some of their decision making was a bit suspect,especially for the two goals .
Torres should have atleast a goal goal.Mind you ,his game bar in-front of the goal is quite brilliant.It is a very complicated thing with him and the complication is due to his drought last season and the half a season before.The thing is when he is taking shots instinctively he is scoring,but the problem for him arises when he has the time to think ,he gets confused with what to do in-front of the goal keeper.He should just hit the ball instinctively and should be back to his best as it is the only part of his game that needs to be improved.He should just strike the ball and not worry about the personic critics.Everything is going well and I hope Torres shoots the ball instinctively sometimes,so that he could score a lot more.Then we will become complete.Mind you we are quite good now.

75 min gone and mikel has been brilliant. Mata awesome hazard really gd Torres hard working

Great team result today, we learned a lot about the character and determination of our young lads. So much for that '1 of JT or Lamps needs to be on the field at all times...' eh Melbourne.

Mikel started the game well but imo he didn't start the 2nd half well at all, tbh the team didn't re-start well but the position Mikel plays is vital to the defense. Mikel played better the last 15 min of the game but he looked like old Mikel from 45 to 75.
