1. Are Chelsea interested in Hernanes of Lazio?

2. What kind of midfielders are Chelsea looking at? Defensive, ball winners ala Fellaini, Tiote. or a deep lying playmakers ala Gundogan, Hernanes etc. or both? Cause, let's face it, this Chelsea side is one deep lying playmaker away from being a dominant force. {Ed002's Note - (1) No. (2) The club do not consider players in such a way. A key factor is how a player will fit in to the team and how adaptable they can be as a player.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I totaly agree about a deep lying play maker, and a 25-30 goal a season striker, sorted!

Agree5 Disagree5

How is Felliani a ball winner? He plays behind the striker at Everton.

Agree15 Disagree8

Until the season Fellaini played in the hold for Everton and at the end of the season had the most tackles won in the season so don't tell me he's not a good defensive midfield that's why Fellaini is so highly rated because he can play the the hold or behind the striker.

What ever happend to the cm's who won tackels and scored goals, oh that's right he's going in the summer my bad

Agree14 Disagree6

When Fellaini started to get a lot of publicity towards the end of last season is when he moved behind the striker. We need someone more mobile than Fellaini like Fernando of Porto.

Agree12 Disagree4

He is an attacking Midfielder now, he isn't an athlete, he isn't a great passer nor does he have a better defensive game than Mikel I would say. He is going to cost a huge fee, just think Lars or Sven would be better options, they are CDM and stick to that role and game. They might not be as dominant in the air but in my opinion better suited to what we need.

I can't see us spending 20+ million on Fellaini.

Loath him or like him Mikel is here to stay and is on a long term contract, besides we all know Fellaini is not best when playing the holding role.

When played with a holding midfielder Ramires is a dynamic player, he causes opposing teams untold problems with his energy alone!

They'll form the core of our midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation next season. If we play a 4-3-3 formation next year then the likes of Oscar, De Bruyne or would fit into the third role much better than Fellaini; that's without spending the 20+ million.

Strength in depth can be found in David Luiz, Romeu, McEachran (if he's deemed good enough) and, if not loaned out again, Chalobah. These can all cover those midfield positions.

Our money would be much better spent on Isco, who would be an immediate upgrade on Marin (who I expect to leave) and Moses behind Mata and Hazard in the squad.

I sort of agree but can't see us winning anything other than a domestic cup next year if we go wit what we have in midfield, I think at least we need a midfielder who can pass nice and crisp, xabi alonso type instead of a 6 foot 4 beast who can't pass forward we look amazing with a passer linking everything, and a goal scorer lukaku or a new signing, give us a 25 goal aseason striker and a midfielder who is good at passing and were set, if we say the best 3 teams in the world are barca madrid and munich, look who starts attacks for them, alonso, sweinstiger and busquets, then they have ronaldo, gomez/mandzukic, messi are there goal scorers this is were we fail, most other places on the pitch we at least mach them, we can get a falcao or cavani and a deep lying playmaker the same as all the best teams in the world have then we should be on par makes perfect sense to me

Agree14 Disagree5

What do you mean Fellaini's not at his best in the holding role he's said before and stated on Wikipedia that's his favourite position if Mikel played alongside him that would give Fellaini the chance to join the attack like when Ramires and Mikel play together now

"stated on Wikepedia that's his favourite position" - quote of the week!

Fellaini gave an interview to Wikepedia did he, lol?

And BTW he has been moved from DCM because he wasn't that effective there. Tended to get more yellow cards than successful passes made.

Oh, and I will leave a name just to prove how hard I am! (from behind my keyboard)

hi guys, my ideal signings in the summer would be ( I don't expect it to happen its just my preference)

-falcao (id be equelly happy with cavani)

-Hummels (imo he will be the best center back in the world in a cpl years)

-fellaini (ideal to sit in the middle of the park and push foward)

most importan we need a new manager personally mourinho is the ideal candidate but will he stay for the long term? i'd love to see david moyes given a chance BUT only if he is giving time in the job, he won't come in a make us champions overnight but for the long term he would be ideal, I think he could have the same affect as fergie at united given half the chance

Believable3 Unbelievable5

I posted the same 3 yeterday would give us 1 hell of a spine and with players already here I think we would quite easilly have the best starting 11 in the prem, would love it to happen

Agree3 Disagree3

Prefer One of Sven or Lars Bender over Fellani, A Attacking Mid is Needed for Rotation, My Prefered would be Isco and Finally Luke Shaw as Cole has Few years left, But i'd also prefer Cavani over Falcao, Hummels i'd agree with.
Just my opinion anyways,

Hi Ed 002, would you say both Falcao and Cavaini will 100% leave there clubs in the summer? Or is 1 more likely to leave than the other? Cheers DJ {Ed002's Note - This is hopeless - I can't possibly be expected to answer such questions.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Ok ed, will ask you **** all in future! and wont bother visiting this site any longer! {Ed002's Note - Suits me. One less retromingent glifnard to concern myself with.}

Agree6 Disagree1

How can you have a crack at the ed DJ?How can he give you a 100% answer on a topic that is by no means 100% clear. No clubs can have offers accepted currently, as both Falcao and Cavani have longer than 6 months left on their contracts. Ed002 has told us on numerous occasions that we have interest in both, but so do other clubs. I have a feeling the reply wasn't from you, but seriously, some people need a dose of reality. Ed002 isn't all knowing (sorry ed), he can give us factual info but does not speculate. If an answer gets you so upset, you feel the need to lash out, you probably aren't best suited to using a computer.

KDB has been playing well in Germany and crosses a lot I can see him settling in very well next year, and I can foresee him setting up a lot of goals for Lukaku.
