ED018 Why would he have had a medical if he did not agree terms or even discuss them? {Ed018's Note - i'm not entirely sure why he had a medical before, but i wouldn't be to concerned. i expect the deal to go through after the Olympics. It'll give Oscar the chance to be shown around and come to an agreement on personal terms.}

First time posting and great site witch i come on everyday .i really dont understand why we are sighing all these attacing midfield players because we are over loading in that position .
I also have concern on what formation we will play is it a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-4-1
i mean with the likes of hazard ,oscar(soon to be ), de bruyne , mata , and possibly thorgan hazard ... witch would also stop lucas piazons progress and with the players we already have ... also with lampard would he drop into a much deeper position say along side mikel or essien..

I hope that's sarcasm. Hulk didn't play well and yet still was a massive thorn in gb's side. And Oscar only misplaced one pass and I'm sure would have been motm had he played 90 mins

Oscar was very good in the first half, passed well, put a couple of great passes in, and completely dictated the tempo. It was a fairly slow game but he was IMO the best player in the first half. I am hoping we confirm him tomorrow!

Remember, Essien can play both midfield positions, Ramires can play out wide as well, Hulk and Studge are a fall back option if Torres doesnt work out and even Romeu can play in defence if neccessary.

Although i do not agree with his price tag, there is nobody i know of who could give to many qualities to our new-attacking team. Strength, speed, skill, power, versatility, good injury record. Porto know this, and that is why the price is so high in my opinion. Deep down, if money wasn't an issue, every chelsea fan would love to see Hulk in blue and gold next year. I also still feel Roman may well get him anyway cuz he's a sugar daddy! lol

I honestly can't remember the last time I was this excited about a new season, not because I think we are going to win everything and blow everyone aside (there may well be a transitional season); but because the great Jose Mourinho dynasty is over and a new one is just around the corner.
Munich was easily, EASILY, my favourite sporting moment and a fitting way for Drogba & co to sign off; the proverbial cherry on top. Now the new signings, Hazard, Oscar etc, and developing youth, McEachran, Kane etc, have a chance to build towards similar success - still backed up by a number of the old guard. Chelsea have finally decided that a change of philosophy needs a change of playing personnel and Abramovich has fully committed to this change with great effect.
If after this summer we don't sign another player for three or four seasons our first team could still look like this...
