Everyone is talking about Solanke and Brown to make the step up, but there's another young striker scoring goals for fun in our youth league. Correct me if i'm wrong but I think he has scored over 30 goals this campaign and more than Solanke this year. Tammy Abraham has pace, strength, hight and power, one to watch out for.

Looks to much like Adebayor or Kanu for me to like him sorry lol. Hell of a strike tonight though.

When I found out he had more goals than solanke I was shocked, why isn't he plauded or praised?

36 goals this season!

I haven't seen Abraham play all that much, but perhaps he gets mentioned less than Solanke because he's more of a flat track bully? Using his power and height to score because right now he's bigger than most youth players. If that's the case, his game wouldn't translate really well to the senior level as he wouldn't have that advantage of being bigger and stronger than defenders. Again, I'm guessing here as I haven't seen him play a lot.

Agree0 Disagree5

For those that follow youth football, he gets his fair amount of praise. IMO, the reason he gets spoken about less is this is his progress at U18 (+) level seems to have staggered behind Solanke (injury hasn't helped). His game has grown since playing at a higher level.

Out of the three Brown is the most experienced, then Solanke, then Abraham. We also have another exciting youngster coming through, Ike Ugbo.

The thing I like about them all is they are not fixed to one position, they express themselves, impact games and seem to be very grounded individuals.

Random thought, what do you guys think of a midfield overhaul this summer. Out with Oscar, Rami and John Obi. In with Koke, RLC and Traore possibly van Ginkle too. Would raise some funds and give youth a go without losing the balance of the squad in my opinion. Food for thought, but with FFP in play we need to sell to buy and also start using promising players whilst still fighting for trophies!

Believable1 Unbelievable6

20 Apr 2015 22:38:59
Personally I do not think koke is good enough. RLC needs a loan and van ginkel is only a squad player at best. Haven't seen enough of traore to comment. I know it's a long shot but another backup keeper to replace Cech, pogba and varane would be a huge step in the right direction, with oscar or Ramires leaving to generate funds.

Agree0 Disagree7

20 Apr 2015 22:39:15
Keep Oscar! Agree on the other things, though I wouldn't mind it if Mikel stayed for next season (I just love him).
Apparently Chalobah played very well against Arsenal on Saturday. Perhaps he should finally get a look in as well :)

Agree4 Disagree1

20 Apr 2015 23:37:14
For me, Mikel needs to be moved on and Ramires seems to have been affected by his injury. also doesn't seem to fit in our preferred formations. Both of them out - I don't think van Ginkel or Ake will remain at the club either. I hope Oscar stays but if the money's right and he wants to go then so be it.

I'd like to see Chalobah and/or Baker in the squad (and given appropriate minutes). if only one of them, then RLC as well.

I'd be happy with any of Pogba, Koke or Gomes but would like to maintain a balance of like for like replacements (to include youth where possible) in the squad. above all, Mourinho needs to show his trust and rotate more, particularly in games at home against weaker opposition.

Agree0 Disagree2

21 Apr 2015 14:46:28
I'm hesitant to get rid of mikel because as much as we all bash him he knows the position and how jose wants it played which is a very specialized ability. Ideally i'd love to see Chalobah replace him in that role but I'm not sure if he's that far developmentally. Also would be surprised if ake gets sold as he's club trained or whatever Uefa call it.

Watched game tonight solanke did nothing for 88 minutes one chance one goal sign of a decent striker. Goal in every rd Now for him

Believable5 Unbelievable1

21 Apr 2015 07:56:06
He had one chance and scored it. He didn't do nothing apart from that though. He makes runs off the ball which create space for the other players. A lot of his work goes unnoticed.

Another one of my questions lads and maybe girls. If you could bring in realistically 4 new players for outgoing players who would they be. Here's mine:

1) GK: Green for Cech - As we all know Cech is too good to be 2nd choice so he should leave to be first choice at another big club maybe PSG/Real Madrid. I'd bring in Green as backup to Courtois. He's experienced and homegrown and the transfer should be made easier if QPR go down.

2) CB: Varane for Cahill - Cahills form has been very good of late but Varane will take us to the next level. His pace, power, technique is unreal. And as much as we have interest in him I can't see Madrid letting him go. I also can't see Mourinho selling Cahill do I think it maybe the same defence next season but hopefully Zouma instead of Cahill.

3) CM: Schneiderlin for Ramires - I don't want to see us spend 40 million+ on Koke or Pogba. I'm a big fan of RLC and I think he will be a massive hit next season if given the chance. Schneiderlin is a complete midfielder for me so we could play defensive or attacking and he could still play. He's very under-rated and it also enable us to give Matic a rest.

4) ST: Ings for Drogba/Remy - I hear Ings is available on a free and this could be great business. Fast, powerful and homegrown. We need someone who isn't injury prone to replace Costa when necessary.

I wouldn't sign an attacker unless someone world class like Bale becomes available. I'd stick with Oscar until that happens. I want to see a powerful pivot of RLC/Schneiderlin with Matic and an interchangeable attacking three of Oscar, Fabregas and Hazard like we use to play with Mata. Banter page please Ed not many post on the others and what would your 4 players be?

Believable5 Unbelievable4

20 Apr 2015 21:04:40
Hasn't Ings had quite a few injuries over the last few years?
This is quite tough as I feel we need more than 4 players.

Out:
Cech
Luis
Ramires
Oscar
Remy
Drogba

In:
Green
Gaya
Pogba/Koke
Icardi/Dybala

20 Apr 2015 21:04:54
And Varane in too.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Apr 2015 22:24:42
Fuser it doesn't make sense to sell Luis and buy Gaya. You're just selling one quality LB for another and he won't play anyway. Mourinho loves Ivan and Azpi too much too change anything.

Agree3 Disagree2

20 Apr 2015 22:44:18
I'd try to keep Luis, unless he himself really wants to leave. Hopefully some more game time for him next season. Then if Gaya performs well again next year, then we can go in for him next summer.
Bring in Varane, Green (or other HG back up keeper), Koke/Gomes(/Pogba) and perhaps a new back up striker if Drogba and/or Remy leave.
Sell the depth players that Mourinho apparently doesn't trust enough to rotate, like Mikel and Ramires and give chances to RLC and perhaps other youngsters if they're deemed ready.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Apr 2015 23:22:52
agree with you welshchels. I would sell luis and keep AKE as a back up left back. That way he would get his chance.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Apr 2015 23:34:39
Ings is injury probe though, I'll take Austin :)

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Apr 2015 23:41:04
Agree there Jackson I don't want Remy to leave but we need a back up striker to costa that basically never gets injured. I like Icardi.

Agree1 Disagree2

20 Apr 2015 23:57:31
It's not that I necessarily want to sell Luis, I just think he'll want to leave because he is too good to stay on the bench especially at his age, and he'd need to be replaced. Gaya is young and probably wouldn't mind a bit part role for his first season. Then for 2016/17 Ivanovic will be close to 32/33 and so I could see Azpi switching to the right and Gaya starting on the left. Iva being back-up or being sold.

Agree4 Disagree1

20 Apr 2015 17:45:01
Drogba now doubtful for the match against arsenal and with remy and costa also being doubts, its about time mourinho does a madness and starts Solanke up front! we are already 10 points ahead of srsenal even a draw there would be ok. so I don't think its too much of a risk starting him. there really isn't that much to lose! just go for it and give this kid a start jose!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

20 Apr 2015 17:58:02
I personally think Izzy Brown he more ready than Solanke.

Agree0 Disagree2

20 Apr 2015 18:02:04
I have a feeling that it's actually just a precaution because Drogba played the whole 90 minutes on Saturday and they can't risk him injuring himself in a charity game. Think we won't be seeing Solanke or Brown (though I think Solanke is more suited to a striker role in a single striker system) starting for the 1st team just yet :)

20 Apr 2015 18:59:46
Remy will probably recover until next weekend.

20 Apr 2015 19:56:39
mou would rather play zouma there than let brown or solanke play

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Apr 2015 13:40:59
I'll be gutted if we spend 29 million on this dybala he doesn't even look the real deal and when we've got a quality player like Bamford on loan too. 29 million on a 2nd/3rd striker is ridiculous. I'd prefer to just see Bamford given a go as 2nd choice.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

20 Apr 2015 15:07:27
Bamford will stay at Boro next Season on loan if they get promoted. Just what he needs. Hopefully the following season he will be ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2015 20:21:19
Thank you Welsh, I agree Give Bamford a go as second choice if Remy leaves. Why oh why do we have to spend on a striker every season, Bamford is ready all he needs is a little trust.

Reports Chelsea are linked with Mesut Ozil, sounds like it would never happen but Mourinho included him in his all time XI?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

20 Apr 2015 12:15:54
Even if there was genuine interest in Ozil, I don't think Arsenal would sell to us. Great player though if used right.

Hey guys, I won't be here for few days now as I am off to Tenerife. Anyway does anyone of you are going to Leicester vs Chelsea game? I think we can meet somewhere and have couple of drinks before the game?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 Apr 2015 12:18:34
Sadly I haven't got the time (travelling all the way to London from Belgium), nor the money to go to games. It'd be fun however to meet some of you (Eds included) in person :)
Hope you can make it work with someone else :)

20 Apr 2015 17:23:55
Jackson you should look into coaches with Megabus. I went to the game against Bradford, (I live in Cornwall) so I got the coach to London, watched the game and then I went to Amsterdam for 3 days after that. (Left London on the same day as the Bradford game). The travelling altogether cost me around £25-30. You can get some fantastic deals with Megabus on ocassions!

Hope we sign dybala and Felipe Anderson be great signings!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 Apr 2015 12:22:31
I think Felipe Anderson is the more talented player than Dybala but as always I'd be a bit reluctant because they're doing it in Italy now. And we all know the Italian league is a lot weaker than the Premier League.

Well done to Patrick Bamford for getting Championship Player of the Year. The future is looking bright

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Apr 2015 07:02:07
Fantastic achievement for Bamford! He must've improved a whole lot during the season. Started the season as a substitute mainly, ended up winning Player of the Year. That's terrific :)
He must be pleased with the decision to go out on loan.

Just wondering who everyone's choice for player of the season was. Apart from the obvious one in hazard, I think azpilicueta is seriously underrated and he'd get my vote.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed008's Note - I'd go with Hazard, Fabregas, Courtois in that order all 3 players have won games for Chelsea this season on their own!

20 Apr 2015 07:00:12
Azpi is up there for me as well, but I'd give to Hazard. The guy's been so good, he deserves it :)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2015 07:37:38
Hazard has been the outstanding player for us in most matches. I don't think there's any doubt he will be player of the season.

20 Apr 2015 09:50:02
Agree with you bruce :) there is just one contender for the best player of the year this seasons. And it is Hazard

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2015 11:04:13
Hazard has been awesome. Courtois, Azpi, Costa, JT, Fab and Willian have all been very consistent as have Matic and Branna. Zouma has given us a hint of the future. Add Varrane and Pogba and what a side!!
