Two questions:
1. Any idea about the MARCA report about D.Costa wants to return to Atletico?
2. Rob Beasley and Martin Lipton saying Griezmann won't come to Chelsea, you know something different?

Griezmann staying at Atletico by all accounts. He is now 2/5 odds on to stay with them. A bit concerned about the Costa rumours as well! Looks like we might sign Falcoa for £25M as well!

Where you getting this info from? All i'm reading is that he is odds on to sign!

I don't clim to know what's in Costa's mind but he hasn't played like he's unsettled. His family could be or maybe he's just super professional but to me at least he seems like he's enjoyed his time here so far.
Griezmann I think we'll get. Vietto looks like he's on his way to Atletico and he's supposed to be replacing Greizmann.
Falcao I can't see us buying. A loan would be the only thing that would make sense to me but even then his wages and the likely fee wouldn't be worth it.

Griezmann will stay. His odd to Chelsea just dipped for a while.

I have no idea about Costa - but I don't think the report is correct. Mourinho built the whole squad to support him and he is nearly no competant for his position. Why would he leave!

There are a lot of articles about Falcao recently. I really don't like this idea at all. He failed to adapt in Manchester already. How can he be better here? I don't think Mourinho can provide him more than Van Gaal. And even a cut in salary it would be around 200kpw (he received 285kpw in Manchester) and at least 20mil for a 30 years old player, who is finding his form again. Why would we?

I'm pretty confident a deal can be done for Greizmann. Reports suggest he is open to a move to Chelsea and Atheletico are actively trying to sign a replacement in Vietto.i would assume the major hold up is that Chelsea are trying to knock down the fee from his reported £42 release clause hence why Jorge Mendez is now involved. Fingers crossed anyway, a chelsea team with Hazard and Greizmann in the started line up would be scary!

Have you seen Greizmann play? We thought Cuadrado would be brilliant!

{Ed018's Note - I think we'd all be in a agreement that Griezmann is a better player than Cuadrado even compared to his time at Fiorentina}

First of all, Marca are newspapers close to Real Madrid.
Tomorrow Rafael Benitez will become Real Madrid head coach, during next week the club will decide who will stay and who will be sold and which is much more important who are they going to try to sign.
War has begun!

I suggest you do your homework on Greizmann , Mrs Costa! Then you will see what an amazing player this kid is. He's fast , skips past defenders, can score with both feet and is surprisingly good in the air considering his build. I think what will help him fit in at chelsea is that he has an engine on him and is not afraid to track back and defend , a definite Jose type player . I truley believe this guy will become World class at chelsea! Be an amazing signing!

Maybe at Madrid, the coach is not the one eho conttol the transfer. Ance was so unlucky. He last two of his best players last summer (Alonso and Di Maria) and received James in return.

Daton you're absolutely right about head coach position in Europe. He is not making call about signings, nevertheless sportive, technical, financial directors and club's President together make plans and transfer strategy with head coach.
That is what they are going to do during next week. Real Madrid doesn't have much time since they could be transfer banned together with A.Madrid

Are the rumours about Diego Costa currently wanting to go back to Spain nonsense?

{Ed018's Note - sounds like complete nonsense to me}

Hi guys, since JT isn't getting any younger I think we probably need to start thinking about who could/should be our next captain.
Who do you guys think it should be?
I think the candidates are:
Ivanovic- natural leader and an absolute tank, although not the youngest himself and will probably need replacing within 2/3 years
Fabregas- captained Arsenal before and obviously got good leadership qualities, decent age and he let's his football do the talking. Does shy away from games sometimes though
Hazard- far and away our most important player, gets along with all the players and looks like a genuinely nice guy. Not too sure whether he'd make a good captain or not.
Costa- one of the most passionate footballers I've ever seen. Always gives 110% and clearly a top, top striker. If he could learn to control his aggression better (not play less aggressively, just stop the unneccessary stamps/elbows) he would be my first choice.
Thoughts?

I would go for Cesc to be honest. Next season will be an important one for JT, if he can play half as well as this season he will get offered another year on his contract. Jose loves having a senior pro to keep the younger guys in order. So we might not even need to worry about it for another couple of seasons yet.

To be honest at the end of the last 3 seasons I've predicted that the next will be JT's last, so heres to hoping I'm wrong again!

I would give it hazard, also make him top earner. Just a matter of time before real and barca come sniffing around.

For me, Hazard doesn't appear to be captain material (IMO). For a long-term choice I'd go for Azpilicueta. model professional, consistency on the pitch, leads by example and loved by the fans.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't cesc. A bunch of the guys listed either speak limited English or are the types of players that captains need to intervene with.

I agree with you on Azpilicueta actually, can't believe I didn't mention him! Very good shout Steve B

Hazard doesn't seem like a player to captain his side. Costa doesn't even speak English so he wouldn't be the best choice haha :-P
Azpi is a good choice for me.

I would definitely choose Fabregas, and I think Jose will too. Iva and Costa are too hot-headed and Costa wouldn't have enough English anyway. Hazard doesn't strike me as captain material at all. I don't think azpi is a a leader on the pitch really, although he has a great attitude.
Fabregas is the most natural leader in the side other than JT and has a few years captaincy experience. He seems to be growing a strong connection with the club and the fans aswell.

Apparently Palace are, whilst some French teams (don't think the editors mentioned who) are looking at him. I'd like to see him stay, and if he does leave surely he's much better than Crystal Palace!

I agree, he should stay. He scored some important goals last season when given the chance to play.
