Could paul pogba come to chelsea when he becomes a free agent?

so called replacements for lampard (josh, paizon) are not ready till now. Would chelsea buy some established midfield master like modric/hamsik

If chelea sell drogba, kalaou and torres in summer, which 2 established international strikers we would sign?

He's an excellent player but like Josh and Piazon isn't ready but nicking a player off them is always fun :D

I can understand people getting n the back of malouda etc but sturridge has been a good player this season, the team are out of form a this mean players become put of form. People moaning about him not passing and crossing yet forget he is only 21 and has a lot to learn and will as he gets older also he is a natural CEnter forward NOT right winger GET OFF HIS BACK !!

R

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Sturridge has played poorly all season, his performances were not being noticed earlier because of a few tap ins, now the goals have dried up he adds NOTHING, and i dont buy into the position thing, he gets payed good money too play wherever the manager tells him, poor passing, lazyness selfish play will not suddenly dissapear if we put him upfront, oh and hes 23 this year, dont get me wrong he could be world class but someone needs to give his head a wobble before he ruins his oppurtunity at Chelsea cus he wont get another chance at an elite club if he fails now

SHED END

Agree4 Disagree2

Bulls**t, he cant pass a ball because he's only 21, my 10yr old nephew can pass a ball. He can't pass a ball because he doesn't want to, he's good at silly goal celebrations though.
Kenny

Agree2 Disagree2

Yep, spot on. I watched him closely in Swansea game and he seldom even tried to find his fellow strike partner. I am confident that video analysis would show that Torres has passed far more to Sturridge than the other way around. Even Drogba passes more to Torres.

Agree1 Disagree2

Yeah but right you learn to read the game more as yu grow older, wasn't ronaldo greedy early in his career also nani give him time, you so called Chelsea supporters get off his back he is so much less to blame that malouda etc.

R

Agree1 Disagree0

So you don't think we're Chelsea supporters because we had a go at sturridge, yet you have a go at Malouda, does that make you a 'so called Chelsea supporter ' too R?

alex ferguson took 4 year to win a trophy, look at him now.. give avb a chance peeps. its been half a season.. we are still in with a chance to win 2 cups (and maybe premiership), and as it stands we are in the champions league next year and above arsenal. so it seems not to bad to me.

So i'm guessing terry won't miss any games through bans related to the alleged racism? If so at least there's a positive! {Ed002's Note - After the trial he will likely be charged by The FA and if found guilty he will likely be banned.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Thanks ed, I understand that but I heard that the trial has been postponed until after the Euros. I think the date was July 9. Have you heard about this? {Ed002's Note - That is the date that has been set - it is not a postponement.}

My biggest worry at the moment is the attitude of the players. although it may sound stupid, under managers like mourinho and even hiddink, the players would have died for them. now i cant see any heart or will from the current team, dunno if its an impression you guys share or not? our backbone just isnt the same as it was before, thats why we need to start playing these youngsters more who have the fire in them and want to prove themselves

Vincent

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Agree. I am afraid we have a manager who cannot turn things around. We are stuck with him though as it would cost us a fortune to sack him. Also we are stuck with the players who are happy to run down their contact., in other words don't give a **** whether they get picked or not. All in all a mess. Who is responsible? I am afraid all of them including Roman.

Agree3 Disagree3

I don't believe it is the attitude of the players but just the way that the team are playing and how they are being asked to play which obviously comes from the manager. I've just watched some of the games from tonight and the highlights of last nights games and something is plain as day. Watching the other games you can see the effort and the games played with a completely different pace to how we play. Our tempo is so slow it makes it boring( and the reason why we can't open teams up) yet I enjoyed just watching the other games because of the pace and excitement as a neutral hoping the results would go in our favour. Every other club was getting behind defences and creating chances yet we create none. The results tonight probably went our way and I don't think Arsenal will pass us however am concerned about liverpool who have the bit between there teeth with recent results. Why he plays Mereiles is unbelievable. Glad to see Essien back. The 20mins or so he was on there was an improvement. Hope Rameires gets back really soon and team for rest of season to give us a chance of 4th place should be.

You should be ashamed, get behind the team and manager, if you don't like it, go support another team.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Il get behind the club all day, but theres no way im ever getting behind the likes of Malouda again. And i will not support Sturridge until he stops being so selfish towards the team and most importantly the fans. These people are on massive money, all they need to do is try there best for 90 minutes a week, they know they have 100's of thousand of people counting on them and they choose the selfish and lazy option time and time and time again. In any other walk of life you wouldnt support lazyness and selfishness and greed, so why should we do it in football?

This has nothing to do with royalty mate. The club is in crisis and on denial as they keep telling themselves that everything is going to be ok. I want to see the consequences if we don't qualify for the cL. Proitos

3 to 4 years ago we were bossing Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champs league, now we can't beat Norwich, Swansea, wigan and A Villa.
I blame Frank Arnersen, who was paid fortunes and given fortunes to deliver quality young players. He even told Ancelotti not to strengthen the squad after the double winning season as we had the youngsters in place !!
Ancelotti had no faith in Bruma and KAKUTA ETC BY MID SEASON. Now i hope AVB plays Bertrand and Romeu on Sunday, not Paulo and Malouda who's just going through the motions until the summer.

I agree Sturridge is the problem. I think for him it is more about ndividual glory rather than team performance. Just like malouda.

Sturridge in a nutshell - runs down the wing and cuts in and gets into a central position pushing torres out wide rather than picking a pass out way earlier to pick out torres or mata (like wingers normally do) and he attempts to shoot. For him its not about chelsea, its about goals to his name so he could be selected for euro2012. AVB needs to understand sturridge hasnt got the winger mentality. Im sick of seeing mata and torres put their heads down in dissapointment everytime he tries to steal the glort but misses, when he clearly should have passed. His a winger for a reason. Malouda has been doing that for awhile and its got to a point i can't take the guy on the pitch anymore.

Not going to comment on boswinga at all. Im sure enoughs said about him. Surely if we was to create a group called
"MALOUDA/BOSWINGA" i would deffo put sturridge in that group,ALONGSIDE mikel, kalou etc.

Just seen the highlights of last nights game..Can anyone tell me how Torres is still at the club he does not look like scoring i will be very surprised if he lasts the summer.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

With the midfield we played last night, how can you expect him to score. For a striker to score, he needs to be given the ball in the right areas. Torres gets into the right areas, but is hardly ever provided with the ball. Until we start giving Torres good service, we won't see the best of him.

TB

Agree6 Disagree2

(copied and pasted from my previous comment on the same topic)

Torres isnt recieving the ball at all, he has to constantly drop deep or wide, hes meant to be the main striker, Sturridge is constantly cutting in, meaning Torres is FORCED to move from central advanced positions, to wider positions to find space. Sturridge's positioning and lack of tracking back for the balls HE loses is throwing the whole team out of shape. Torres looks sharp on the ball and is trying to make things happen, we need to get him on the ball regularly in the box.

SHED END

Agree5 Disagree3

Florent Malouda gave Torres no room to operate. You could see Fernando was downright irate at times with Malouda and Sturidge as he should be. I much prefer Mata in the central position because he understands the spacing.

Agree4 Disagree2

So what was Torres excuse last season when Mata and Sturridge were not there..look you can try and brush it under the carpet 50 million pound and i can count the goals he has scored on one hand absolute laughable.

Agree4 Disagree4

Nobody is saying Torres has come and been amazing and scored lots of goals, he hasnt. Its just unfair to use him as a scapegoat constantly when others around him get off lightly. We STILL arent playing to his strengths. If Sturridge wasnt as greedy and actually passed to Torres occasionly instead of wild shots, his goal tally would be at least double and no-one would be batting an eyelid. We could of had Aguero up front last night in Torres' position and the result would of been the same

SHED END

Agree5 Disagree3

Unless we give Torres the ball he will keep on failing to score, the bloke has done very little wrong in my opinion and if I was in his shoes would be looking to leave unless we bring in a couple of players who can actually pass the ball rather than go for glory when within sight of the opposition goal and end up either spooning the ball or just giving it away.

Agree1 Disagree1

Like everybody else who has an understanding of football and it's tactics can see that playing Malouda, merieles and sturridge does not help Torres at all. All the reasons are listed in other posts so won't repeat them.

Agree1 Disagree1

You could give him a ball on his own and he still wouldnt score, his scoring and assists rate is league one standard,as long as AVB persists with him,we wont be in the top four, waste of money.

Agree1 Disagree4

At the minute mate the whole teams goal and assist rate is league 1, shall we condem them all or just continue to use Torres as a scapegoat?

SHED END

Agree1 Disagree1

Also, if we had Aguero on in place of Torres last night would the result of been different? I highly doubt it, Now, if we'd of had Hazard on in place of Sturridge would the result of been different? I think so. Theres your answer.

Wonder if any clubs will still be interested in taking Sturridge in the summer for a decent price. Id take there hand off, he's fast becoming bad news, no fight in him whatsoever. Countless times we're in an advanced position and he wastes the ball and Torres and Matas heads just drop. We still need to play him due to a massive lack in attacking players, but for me he's got to play on the left where he will be forced to square it, rather than keep cutting in on the right with crazy shots, saying that he'll still try shoot from the left corner flag. Frustrated more than anything he's got the potential at his age be the best but he hasnt got the attitude, and doesnt seem to be getting the attitude either! Starting to think maybe he wont pass to Torres so the club gets rid, leaving him the main striker role.

SHED END

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Torres is the problem not Sturridge..Do you watch the games?

Agree3 Disagree11

No no my friend, do YOU watch the games, Torres isnt recieving the ball at all, he has to constantly drop deep or wide, hes meant to be the main striker, Sturridge is constantly cutting in, meaning Torres is FORCED to move from central advanced positions, to wider positions to find space. Sturridge's positioning and lack of tracking back for the balls HE loses is throwing the whole team out of shape. Torres looks sharp on the ball and is trying to make things happen, we need to get him on the ball regularly in the box. Your wrong mate do you understand football?

SHED END

Agree9 Disagree2

I agree with SHED END, even from watching highlight on MOTD, Sturridge has a tendency to spend too long on the balll and is always looking to cut in onto his left meaning space is taken up. Sturridge is quality but at the moment he is not a winger but with more positional awareness and quicker balls in he could be phenomenal.
Scotty.

Agree2 Disagree1

Shed end..You ain't a clue mate your not answering my question when is this 50 million pound striker gunna start hitting the net..excuse after excuse he will be judged on goals and we all don't need a calculator for that imo he will be loaned to malaga in the summer.

Agree1 Disagree5

He will start hitting the net when he starts getting consistent decent service. And if you havent got the bottle name your posts pal dont come on here telling people 'they havent got a clue'. Let me ask you a question, if we had Aguero on in place of Torres last night would the result of been different? I think not, Now, if we'd of had Hazard on in place of Sturridge would the result of been different? I think so. Theres your answer.

Hell score when we play faster footbal we have 1 creative player mata may b 2 if u count luiz centre back. sturridge is crap, so is malouda meireles, kalou, mikel , cole, bosingwa

Agree2 Disagree1

Shed End you are spot on mate. although I think our midfield is a problem so is Sturridge, he wastes more chances than he scores, cant lift his head to see a pass and if he did he would probably shoot anyway. He should practice passing instead of his silly goal celebrations. He's a showpony.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I think this should be team against Man Utd on sunday Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Bertrand, Romeu, Essien, Mata, Sturridge, Torres, Lukaku. This side will do good as you need to give cahill, Bertrand, and Lukaku a chance.

Ed why there is no lot of activity during this window {Ed001's Note - mainly two reasons, one is the financial situation, banks are not giving out the short term loans that clubs used to rely on to finance transfers. Secondly all the European players are not moving due to the Euros being in the summer. Luuk De Jong, for instance, had numerous teams wanting to sign him, but he flatly refused to listen to any offers as he didn't want to jeopardise his chances of getting in Holland's squad.}

I will start by pointing out that due to not having the disposable income I once had I only get to one or two games a season theses days and either watch the games on tv or listen on the radio, and from speaking to mates who still manage to go home and away they have backed up what I have herd on the radio which is we are piss poor. I have been going to the bridge since the late seventies, I can live with us losing and trust me over the years I have seen my fair share of it but the way we are playing at present is shocking, we should be beating Swansea and teams like them comfortably.
When we appointed AVB I was convinced we had made a very shrewd choice and done a good bit of business. I have backed AVB to the point of being ridiculed, it pains me to say it but from what I have seen I now believe he is the wrong man for the job. I think we have gone backwards rather than forwards and all this nonsense regards rebuilding or in transition is pure b****cks, he is not playing the youngsters and sticking with the players we are planning on off loading in the summer, last night Piazon should have started or at least been given a decent run out if as the club say we are in transition, and from what I herd could have done no worse.
I understand that in the real world and not football manager its incredibly hard to bring in the players you want, but in the summer we came across as headless chickens running about after Modric and doing f*** all, yes we got in several decent players in Mata and Romeu but having no back up player for Modric when he failed to sign seems at best niave.(Merilies is not in same league as Modric). The way the team is playing at present we are going to struggle to keep fourth place, and if what’s been said regards rebuilding will be even harder in the summer as we all know footballers want to play in the champions league and not on a Thursday night in some piss poor impersonation of it.
If Jose becomes available in the summer we need to get on our knees and beg the man to come back, we also need to be prepared to let him spend what he believes is needed to make us a decent team again.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I agree fully, we need to get the special one back.

This is the first time i have spoke on here about AVB being our manager, but i seriously think it has come way to soon for him.. i bet cahill already regrets signing.. no wonder it took him so long to sign i bet at the end he thought he would be a first team choice but look.. bosingwa needs out, malouda needs out, torress? well... need more faith in the youngsters for example; play bertrand on sunday! this season has beeen terribly awful.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I bet you any money he will play either bosingwa or Ferreira at left back. He like to tease the youngsters but putting them on the bench but never actually wants to play them. Seems we have to be comfortably winning for any young players to get a run out, and as we all know that has happened in a while

ED, any idea who might fill in at LB now Cole is suspended? {Ed001's Note - Bertrand I would expect, surely?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You would hope Bertrand, but it wouldn't shock me if AVB put Bosingwa out on the left (like he did in the champions league when Cole got injured) if JT is fit with Brani on the right. He just doesn't seem to have faith in many of the youngsters at all.
