just spoke to my friend who works at melwood and he say's aquillani has said his goodbyes to the staff apparently he is on his way to chelsea for a medical {Ed002's Note - Actually Aquilani is in Oslo.}

Well as per todays news we are linked with 35m move for modric, 25m move for kaka n one of shocking move for alberto aquillani for 15m.
Well personally i dont want any of these signings to happen but seems first twomay happen.
Well we have seen modric he is gud player but not gud enough to be playmaker in chelsea. Over 100 matches 13 goals n 16 assists is certainly not figure where we should spend 35m.
Kaka isnt great now as he was earlier in milan. If anyone has seen the real friendlies in pre season they will understand wat i am talking about. Jose Maurinho is a great coach n we all knows it well kaka was brought by real for 56m n now they are ready to sell him for just 25m bcaz they are aware of the fact kaka will never be back at his best plus he is right now 29 yrs old so inclusion of him in our squad is not going to help us.
The third rumor in news paper was about shocking bid for liverpool midfielder alberto auiallni, watever he is available for 15m but he will be misfit in our chelsea squad.
Another 13days to start the season and less than 30 days before transfer window closes. We are yet to get any big signings. But i firmly believe we need to offload some of our old players before signing new ones.
Mikel, anelka, zirkov, perriera, kalou, alex, bosingwa, essien, malouda, n even drogba whould be among those who should be offloaded this season.
Many of our chelsea fans wont like drogba leaving stamford bridge but if we need to build our team around torres then sell of drogba is must.
Torres is player who likes ground game and we all know we are far behind in ground game we are more into physical game in last many seasons. If we dont change our style of play we will fall behind manutd again this season.
Though kalou and mikel are still young i feel they are not upto the mark who will help us getting champions league title and will keep on warming the benches.
Well there is still plenty left in market for transfer and still many days left for it. But we should not delay it and should get before season starts.

But very sadly to say except lukaku we are not linked with any of the above players.

Well how many proper wingers we have except from malouda on left wing n benayun on some extent on right wing we dont have anyone.
We have to accept it that we dont have flexibility in our squad where we can keep on changing our formation.
Last season manutd looked very dangerous in attcaks its all because they have gud wingers with likes of nani, valencia, giggs, park n now they have added young in it. With strikers like rooney and hernandez if they sign sneijder i am afraid they will dominate epl.
AVB is smart guy n we need to trust him but with our inefficiency in present transfer market with our all title rivals spending heavily its frustrating to all chelsea fans.
We dont want him to spend big moneys like
60m on hulk
neighter 35m on modric
but personally i feel him to get players like
nasri for 20m
juan mata for 15m
lukaku for 20m
n even hazard for 15m
n if he wants to spend big spend on right kind of guy like sneijder he is 27 yrs old same as of torres n still got 4/5 seasons to give his best.
with sells of our oldies we will surely get 70m plus while we will be spending around 100plus for new players.
with likes of 8 going out and 5 coming in still gud enough to match weekly wages.
But will it happen sadly seems no.
Whatever happens in transfer market this summer whoever comes in and whoever goes out i am with my team n expect you all chelsea fans the same.

I think they would still need to sign a defensive player like Gregory VDW if they decide to sell all 4 of those defenders

I think Terry and Lampard will end up leaving as well by the end of next season.

But according to that we would be bringing in 6 and offloading 10, in that case AVB wil really have to push some of the youth players in order to ensure there's enough depth in the squad

Instead of pressing panic button in january window, chelsea should try to sign a good proven attacking medfielder in next few days. Otherwise they make decisions in haste. Their january signing of torres proves this. If chelsea haven, t signed him in january, chelsea might have won some trophy. it makes sense to spend big money at start of season. It is rubbish to change horses midway. January window should be scrapped anyway in my opinion and all teams should be given an option to keep 1 extra overseas player in squad in lieu of that.

Ed why isit that you know quite a lot about the transfers and potential transfers at chelsea eg lukaku, neymar aguero but you seem to be pretty much in the dark with regards to the modric saga?
