Rumourd

Juventus want Sarri as their manager and Chelsea want Frank Lampard. Sarri wants to stay at Chelsea but I can't help but think the above may occur.

Juventus are a very well run club and with Sarri they will be a powerhouse. He will be able to implement his style with ease.

Hope the above isn't true. Lampard is nowhere near ready. I wouldn't be surprised by Chelsea though.

Words can barely describe how dissappointed I would be with the leaders of Chelsea, if we decide to sack Sarri. This one time we decide to bring in a manager with a completely different philosophy than the one our club's had for many years, and even though we get a very good placement in the league and play to finals, the board is still not satisfied? Firing Sarri would simply reek of incompetence.

Don't think the board aren't satisfied EmilSC, think it might be more towards the pathetic toxicity Sarri has received since he's been here that they feel they may need to move on from him. Lampard would bring a better connection with the fans but he's in no way a better coach and i just don't think we'd progress under him. Would youth be given a better chance? Possibly. That for me may be the only real positive i'd see from this appointment.

If we appoint Lampard and he begins to struggle then the same fans would cry/ moan for a change. There is no winning with this lot sadly. If he plays defensive stuff then they would cry for attacking.

We have a massive waiting list at the Bridge for season ticket holders, if your unhappy then simply give up your ticket to someone who will be satisfied.

20 May 2019 21:40:45
a massive waiting list? Hmm, think you've been reading too many inaccurate newspapers mate. We didn't sell out a lot of our games last season, there hasn't been the rush to get them renewed either. The list isn't massive and the demand isn't fever pitch.

If Lampard was installed he'd be given a lot more breathing space then any other manager I can absolutely guarantee that. If this ban isn't lifted, then I am all for Sarri leaving and Frank coming in. Him and Jody know the club inside out and know all about the youths. I think we'd be fine.

It amazes me that the clubs with the caliber of Juve/ Roma etc have been linked with the coach in charge of our club.

It makes you wonder if the people in charge of these clubs know something that a lot of Chelsea fans dont!

Anyone see bale / Zidane situation, as saying if he had a 4th sub he still wouldn't of put bale on, apparently had a row and has said they will try to move him on, Ronaldo / bale / Ramos have ZZ a managerial career when he copied rafa's set up but had backing of players, bale with huge goals to win champ league and cops Del Rey v Barca, hazard. take note the jeered Ronaldo, bale, tbo, stay where your loved, also, . Who'd take bale, personally wouldn't, huge wages and injury prone, ages against him,

I think he is only 29 Matt but I’m sure I would take him.

19 May 2019 19:18:25
Oh right. I did think he was other side of 30, a lot of injuries. Huge wages too. Scored some big goals, shoots from distance which we miss.

Bale needs to stay away from Chelsea.

20 May 2019 19:10:37
For his wages I wouldn’t take him. He’s too old and injured too much. Maybe just maybe on a free but otherwise o don’t see the worth. For the 60-80m he’d cost you could get a Pepe or someone similar who don’t have injury issues and are younger.

When do we find out if our suspension is on hold whilst the appeal goes through.
All we are asking is for parity. All teams should be treated the same. No favouritism to Madrid and barca.

I think there will be a suspension of the ban and it will be announced pre-final.

ED 002
Reports in Italy are claiming that Juve are interested in Sarri.
Do you think Sarri will remain at Chelsea next season?
Thanks
T.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Obviously Sarri would have options if he decides to get away from the awful fan base that has abused him all season.}

19 May 2019 08:47:44
Agreed ed.

19 May 2019 08:57:54
Sadly I have to agree with Ed here. The fans have been awful to him. I wouldn't blame him if he wants to go back to Italy.

But I hope he stays. I think it's clear that he's a good coach, and he'd probably do much better in his 2nd season. We'll see what happens, but I fear we'll lose him. And we'll largely have the match-going fans to blame for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He is a very good coach as you say.}

19 May 2019 13:51:59
Do you think the club will cave to the fans' booing so to speak? I imagine the club themselves would prefer to keep him after doing so much work to get him.

I honestly really hope we keep him. Surely common sense will prevail?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club have no interest in kowtowing to the fans.}

19 May 2019 14:04:45
Well that's a relief. Truly, it is. Thanks for that, Ed. Fans are fickle, so it'd be dumb to kowtow (that's a new word I learnt) to them.

Much appreciated!

I have always had the opinion over the last 10 years that Chelsea fans can be very fickle and quick to judge, but we have always backed our team and manager whilst the game is on. However since Rafa Benitez came I feel that the fans have felt we are too good for certain managers and players. The amount of times I hear “deadwood” on this forum. yet can you imagine them saying that about Dennis wise, or tore Andre Flo. No:. coz talent isn’t everything. Workrate, options from the bench. they are just as important. But some of our fans just want us to spend big money on players, and then immediately when they hit some poor form they want them gone and replaced by a youth player. Until we don’t win the league and then we want a big name player again.

The atmosphere at the bridge hasn’t been very good for midweek games for a few years but now the atmosphere at the league games has got even worse. Against Watford the fans didn’t sing a song until the second half.

It’s such a shame coz I love my club win or lose! We just don’t seem to have respect for ourselves or other teams.

Very accurate observations Dave.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2019 15:40:01
Well Dave I seem to remember Conte receiving a good level of support even when things were going pear shaped in the 2nd season.
Chelsea has been known for having charasmatic managers for a long while now and Sarri certainly isn't that .
He and for that matter Zola have made zero effort to engage with the fans either home or away.
Its part of the job and by the way does he really need to look and behave like a tramp on the sidelines?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - He has been abused verally at games - he is hardly going to "engage" with the vegetables at the games.}

19 May 2019 15:45:09
Ed2 I couldn't agree more. Sarri is a good coach and the abuse he has received from his own set of fans has been an embarrassment for the rest of us to witness.

19 May 2019 15:46:29
Dave I 2nd your comments. I was really baffled at the flat at atmosphere at the bridge vs Watford.

Turvey, who cares about his personal dress code.

I didn’t want him as our manager but he is and I will support him.

If he leaves I wouldn’t blame him but my guess is some morons will consider him leaving as a victory!

19 May 2019 18:10:20
I don't get it, majority of our fans were crying to see some attacking football at Chelsea to move away from this defensive dross. As soon as we get a manager and ask him to implement attacking football we moan, we boo him and effectively boot him out because it isn't working out. Nothing working straight away. Klopp, Poch, Pep etc all had time to work with the squad. Obviously the core of fans at the clubs and their difference is huge. Surely Chelsea won't sack Sarri because of the fans. That would be silly.

Where the F is the patience these days? Rome wasn't built in one day. We have some real bunch of Instant success winning fans at the bridge.

I agree Shak, the guy has done what was asked of him and that with a completely different style of play and virtually NO pre-season.

He has started playing some of our home grown players and I’m sure their could be more in the squad next season.

We also have fans referring to our players as “deadwood”. It’s all very sad, unpleasant and unnecessary.

I'm not a massive Sarri fan but I haven't abused him, or anyone associated with Chelsea, at a game.

Last game I went to was vs. Frankfurt, and the general feel of the ground was very negative towards Sarri. When RLC was subbed, and Sarri was booed, he desperately tried to get the crowed up and stop booing - to absolutely no success.

Why would Sarri do a lap of a appreciation when he's not appreciated by what is realistically 75% of the ground? To be the bigger person? There's not as much pride in that as people let on!

Exactly Tom, in my opinion he has had a fantastic season. Not only has he got us 3rd and into the champions league, he has also got us into two cup finals and more importantly he has changed our style of football in doing so. He hashad a great seasonal and rightfully so he won't be short of admirers in Italy from massive clubs.

Chelsea are known for bad press when it comes to sacking managers and this will be another that will create bad press for us. He finishes ahead of Poch and gets two finals and gets chop. It would be terrible.
