Does anyone think Tammy Abraham is good enough to lead striker for Chelsea next season? Ed001 or 002? I hope he does.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

19 Mar 2019 16:05:19
Right mentality just not good enough. Be a good rotation option though. Jovic is the one we need if the ban gets uplifted.

Wouldn't have him back as nailed on starter next season, but definitely good enough to be a rotational player to start the season. Then just see if he does really well or not.

He makes good runs, is fast, pretty strong, has a good touch and is an excellent finisher.

Ideally we'd have Tammy back next season, along with Jovic to lead the line. Alas, registration ban will probably help prevent that from becoming reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Jovic.}

20 Mar 2019 12:16:33
Giroud or Batshuayi it is then next season! Lol :)

I should've known not to be too optimistic regarding a major striker talent. Hard to compete with Barcelona for players these days. They all prefer playing with Messi over being in Europa League haha.

Ed any chance of any names of strikers we have an interest in please? Understand if no, Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing worth saying at this time as much depends on a number of issues, such as the situation with FIFA, that need to be better understood first. So whilst there has been interest in strikers, such as Jovic, nothing is in hand.}

20 Mar 2019 14:57:04
Fair enough, could i just ask if we have any interest in maxi gomez as reports in spain say we do thanks alot.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no declared interest interest in Gomez.}

Hi Eds,

Can I ask, is there any truth in the new reports yesterday that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still interested in buying Chelsea?

Thanks in advance for any reply.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Jim Ratcliffe has had an offer rejected for the club but has never made any secret of his desire to buy it.}

19 Mar 2019 13:08:23
Thanks very much for the reply Ed002. I know that at one point the owner had looked into selling a share in the club to finance the ground re-development. Do you think there is currently more of an appetite to sell the club outright now if the price offered is seen to be 'interesting' enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - None of this is related to selling a proportion to redevelop the ground. It is to do with approaches from Jim Ratcliffe who knows Mr Abramovich well.}

Thanks Ed002. Understood and appreciated.

I would love for them to join forces and make us the force we was when Abramovich first took over.

Doubtful there were ever be a joint venture. Radcliffe is very single minded and prefers total control and no distractions. I would imagine our sponsorship would be his own company and the loan sideline we run would stop apart from the odd one to gain experience. I was at a meeting where he discussed his business and he made it clear he tries to keep outside influences to a minimum so you focus on what you are employed to do.

Hi Ed, I believe we have been in the dark concerning happenings in the club since you left. All we have seen here are mere speculations and no substance from somebody in the know. Please can you clear some air in some areas you feel should bring us to speed.
Uncertainties loom large at Chelsea ranging from the transfer ban, future of some key players, future of the coach, Dof, potential incoming transfer targets, the future of RA especially after visa issues with the British government, and even the proposed stadium expansion.
It's fine if you are not disposed to discuss these at this time but I only feel we have missed a lot since you last updated us comprehensively.
Have a nice day.

{Ed002's Note - (a) Chelsea want FIFA to hear the appeal for the fine and the ban before the end of June, meaning regardless of the result they should be clear to conduct business in the summer - as if they lose they can request an arbitration hearing which will almost certainly suspend the ban. There is however a major issue still being dealt with. (b) There is nothing specific regarding players - some will leave in the summer regardless. (c) There is interest in Sarri from another side and Chelsea would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave. (d) There remain a couple of people that the club are interested in as Director of Football, but both need convincing and responsibilities to be made clear. (e) Mr Abramovic has rejected one offer for the club from Jim Ratcliffe in recent months and discussions about the tie up with another side will lead to a further offer being made. But yes, the issue with the government persecuting Mr Abramovic and six others is causing a lot of problems. (f) The redevelopment of the stadium is an entirely separate matter and unrelated to all of this.}

All of these sorted out could make the club head in the right direction again. We need more Chelsea past players within the club. Ballack for me should be DOF immediately and can at least plan for the future. If Sarri does leave I wouldn’t be bothered but I’d like Steve Holland in charge with perhaps Morris as his assistant. The club has been a shambles since he left. It’s too early for Frank let him learn his trade. I’d love Ballack in as DOF then I’d like to see us try quality again. The likes of Jovic, Pepe, Skriniar and Mendy would be my picks.

Very good to get this info Ed002 much appreciated. Will obviously much hope that the FIFA appeal will be held before end of June and that the other serious matters will have a positive resolution.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club and The FA have both requested FIFA to do that.}

Thank you Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Great information there Ed002, thank you for that. I appreciate you have probably said as much as you can about the ownership situation so that might make my question above slightly redundant now.

ed thanks for this, what do you mean tie up with another side will lead to another offer? will radcliffe make another offer or someone else and what tie up? thanks alot.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You need to read the entire sentence, not part of it. There will be another offer from Jim R.}

19 Mar 2019 18:41:25
i see thanks ed, has roman got a price in mind he would accept? or does he not want to sell? thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if Mr Abramovich "has a price in mind".}

19 Mar 2019 19:04:58
Thanks for that update ed002! Made my day! Can I ask why the FA have asked FIFA to make a promo decision on the ban? I can understand the club wanting a prompt decision, but I don't understand how it effects the FA.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Because The FA were also punished and could get repeat fines if other clubs are punished for the same issue.}

19 Mar 2019 19:40:47
Are other clubs being investigated for the same issue? Or am I reading too much into it?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Similar and related issues.}
