Who would you rather start up front at the start of next season - Morata or Batshuayi?

Thumbs up Morata.

Thumbs down Batshuayi.

I'm thumbs down.

I prefer Morata for next season but I have this fear (though i could be wrong) that Morata will demand to leave Chelsea for another club (maybe at some point in the future- probably when he hits top form (just like what Courtois is doing now; though his reason is family proximity) . For that reason I will prefer Batshuayi cos I want players that wanna stay long-term at the club- not those that will wanna leave at some point. Like I said earlier my fear could be wrong.

If Morata wants to leave, the club should sell him now; rather than keep him only for to want to leave later.

I’d say Batshuayi to give him another go. Morata and Courtois seem to want out and its disrespectful. Michy has a massive connection with the fans and seems to love the club, it’s not often you get that these days and it’s lovely to see. Batshuayi will score goals it’s just his actually game I didn’t like before he left on loan but give him a chance he will take it. If we could sign Bailey and started next season with Bailey, Bats and Hazard as the three I would be happy with that.

Lewandowski.

Miss Darren Wood, you seem to be certain that it's going to be Lewandowski, I guess its the second time you've said Lewandowski. Why do you think its going to be Lewandowski or do you know something that we don't know?

I'm sure jardim is favourite now, I would be ok with that, Enrique has priced himself out which isn't a bad thing.

My ideal is Sarri but is be more than happy with Jardim.

Sarri was never an option - his agent was using Chels to get Sarri a better deal at Napoli.

Martial not in France squad which would help with him wanting out of united in my opinion. Also a manager like Jardim would get a lot out him, just don't want willian however frustrating he is going to United,

Hi Matt Martin, What would be your scale of preference if you are to choose between L. Bailey, N. Fekir and Martial?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2018 09:49:56
Hmm fekir has that bit of class and creative, martial is big direct and can play wide or down middle and Bailey is young rapid and has so much potential. can I choose fekir and Bailey lol if had to choose one would be Bailey, just! What about you, also Bailey would be a great back up. not rushed into big team, he could rotate with another player like martial fekir willian hazard or whoever it may be, he is only young after all where as other two would be ready to go straight in, imo.

Fekir > L. Bailey > Martial.

Bailey all day 💪🏻 A left footed right winger will give us that new dimension, his speed is unreal too.

I got to say i have only seen few videos but looks to me like Bailey usually plays on the left.

He can play on either that’s what makes him so special.

Sell Morata, sign Martial as a central striker. Martial, Giroud and Batshuayi fighting it out for that role.

Sign Bailey to replace Pedro in the squad and have Hazard, Willian, Bailey and Hudson-Odoi fighting it out for the wing positions. With Martial available to cover here too.

Those two signings actually make some sense.

Several papers report that Chelsea have laid out their transfer targets for the summer. Therefore, does that mean Conte might be staying although I think unlikely or and more worrying, that would appear to indicate that the new manager will have little input to the proposed acquisitions. Is history going to repeat itself?

To he fair this has been our business model for a very long time and it has brought us success. We know our head coaches do not have a great deal of input into the players brought in. We have a team of people who look into that. I am sure there are lots of people who would prefer to have a manager who is in control of the transfers however this is not the way the club works and will not be changing its way anytime soon. I can only assume any coach coming in is aware of this information. (All information has been read from this site etc. I could have the wrong end of the stick-eds correct me if I am wrong)

You are totally right BIGPHIL and it has been explained many times before what our business model is and rightly or wrongly it is not going to change. It has brought great success over the years and more and more clubs tend to go down this route now as managers don't tend to last long at any one club nowadays with all the pressure. The world of football has changed dramatically since the Fergie and Wenger eras.

That's the issue, should it change? All managers like to work with certain types of players and dislike others and as much as we have had a lot of success we have not been very consistent after Mourinho's first stint and for every good buy we have made you are all aware of the total waste of money with others. Naturally there are those that will say "who cares it's not our money" and my answer is billionaires do not like wasting money anymore than we do. I agree managers are no longer in charge of the purse strings but they should have input to who they work with.

18 May 2018 18:15:54
I agree. I miss the old game but that has gone the way of the dodo and the dinosaurs. I hope the people in charge of the transfers start to allow the loan army and the youth to fill the squad roles and spend big on one player a season who can improve the first 11. That is the change I hope for. we know we will always have a change of manager pretty regularly. Even before Roman took over this was the case. When was the last time we had a manager the lasted longer than 4 seasons? We have never really had a Ferguson or a Wenger and Undoubtedly we ever will. So whilst some changes will be needed in the recruitment process I don't believe allowing the manager that choice is the way to go for our club.

18 May 2018 19:51:48
The fact that we have finalised our transfer targets could also mean that we have a new manager already in place and that he has had an input.
