Transfer update. Laporte lost Barca election, he was the one insisting Pedro not for sale!! Straight fight between us and Man U/Pool for him now I guess.

MU - I support you in this one - take Pedro and we will go all in for Gotze!!

So it seems like most people on this site haven't seen Aranguiz play. I know Youtube isn't the best source for this, however I did look him up and from what I saw he seems like a great passer and tackler. Furthermore it seems like he's fast as well, combine that with somewhat technical abilities and I think we'll have a good backup

Gotze is now available on the market. He said on ESPN that he is considering a move to abroad.

Very fast - full of technique - good at finished and can play on two wings.

Mr Mourinho - please hear my voice.

What is Gotze's preferred position? Unless he can play on the right I think he would be a pointless signing as all the other positions are pretty much covered.

I think gotze would be an excellent signing him and hazard on the wings would be excellent.

He also said that he wants to stay in Germany for now and even if he were to leave he would probably join Juventus

Mostly played on the right wing at Dortmund ( with Reus on the left) - but used as a roaming AM at Bayern Munich (Robben dominated the left wing).

He hasn't been talked about much, but does anyone know much about Rahmann? Will he good enough to displace Azpi, so that he can finally reclaim the RB position?

Im in the same situation with you. don't know much about him.

But there was something quite funny about him that a guy used the username named Xabi Alonso commented about Baba on whoscored website and Daily Mail used his comment as a real source from Xabi Alonso and write about him.

P/S: there is video clip of his performance on Youtube and it looks really persuasive.

He looks very good from highlights and I've heard nothing but good things.

Obvious we all hate Chelsea losing, but which one team in particular do you hate losing against, and get the greatest satisfaction in winning. Could be because of something that happened years ago, or relatives, friends support the other team, and make your life unbearable for weeks.
I think mine changes, depending on the situation with both teams, who the opposition manager is, and there threat to Chelsea. When I was young it was always Liverpool, because they always beat us, and my best mate was a Liverpool fan. Now, it's got to be Arsenal, for the simple reason we will have all the lads on their site gloating and making anti Jose comments. ( I know I shouldn't go onto their site but can't help it ).

Spurs or liverpool for me purely for the fact that they both have the most annoying and delusional fans in English football and bleat on about it for the next 5years!

It's got to be the scousers - just because they go on and on and on about what a big club they are - they just don't understand that the 'are' should be replaced with 'were'!

With me is Manchester United.

Definitely United for me. My brother's a United fan. And while I don't gloat when Chelsea wins, it gives me so much satisfaction. Also, they have a number of players I truly dislike.

For me it's either United or Liverpool. United because I have several friends that are United fans, and Liverpool because of their annoying fans that won't shut up about trophies they won 10+ years ago

Sid we're not alone in our dislike of mourinho the vast majority of football fans dislike him this time round, which is a shame because in his first spell at Chelsea he was not only very successful but extremely funny and great for the game not just Chelsea.
Personally I was gutted when he went because it was a big loss to the game in this country but during his spells at Milan and Madrid he has become the very bitter one and lost all the things that made him so difficult not to like before.
Still an excellent manager for your club no question just no longer a great asset to football in general :-(

Definitely United for me. Being from the states about half the shirts you see are united ones but if you ask the guy wearing it the name of their manager they'll look at you like you're speaking a foreign language. Might be sensitive but it just seems to chap my backside.

Any news on witsel?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

As dedicated Chelsea supporters with the current Premiership under our belt we are naturally going to be genuinely chasing players and also being associated with them by the Agents to possibly enhance their fees. Seriously, Chelsea do not need a 21 year old left back at this moment in time and I think one of the Ed's has said as much; "it is not a priority". Baba Rahman may well develop but his experience is NOT a Premiership type experience and I see no worth in buying him. Likewise, Axel Witsel, at 26 has not done anything special and would add nothing beneficial to our team.

Anyone else feel disappointed so far with the summer business at CFC would of loved s Vidal or veratti to sit next to matic and sure hoped we would get griezman

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jul 2015 08:11:59
Verratti is a wonderful player and him next to Matic would potentially form an even better duo than Fabregas-Matic as I think he's even better suited to the role than Fab. However, Ed has never stated any interest from Chelsea in him and has also stated that Verratti would like to move back to Italy IIRC, so I'm not sure why you'd even hope for him to have joined us.
There's still a lot of time left, so don't worry. We don't need a lot, just a couple of key additions. I have confidence in the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 11:09:21
I'm not too worried at the moment, the club won't buy just for the sake off it. If we can't sign the best e.g Griezmann or Pogba then we shouldn't waste money on second rate players. Really looking forward to seeing Loftus-Cheek and Traore being integrated into the first team this season, basically like two new signings. I'd be happy if we signed Stones think he's got a lot of potential and Aranguiz seems like he'd be a solid replacement for Mikel or Ramires if one of them should leave. We have signed a solid back up keeper in Begovic and hopefully Jose can get the best out of Falcoa. Nathan and Kennedy looks like superb prospects also. So all in all I think the window has been ok so far, we already have the strongest squad in the prem and maybe we might get a little suprise addition before the window shuts.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 12:11:11
We've been mysteriously quiet this summer comparing to other Windows, has to be something in the pipeline or a bid for a big player coming, I have a feeling we will get stones & loan him back to Everton for the season as we have zouma, would love Chelsea to put in a bid for griezmann or another for Isco. wishful thinking but that would be a great Summer's work, also Rahman for Luis if he goes

@ SuperFrank:

Last year, we was the strongest squad.

However, its another year, a new season. With no significant upgrade until now, all I can say is: Our player became older - our playing style is studied and caught more frequently (happened many times at the end of the last season already - with many draws - hopeless attacks to crowded defend lines).

At the same time, our opponents is changing - they got new faces - they upgraded for a better competition. We will be harder to catch them with their new factors.

Many things changed, Terry is getting older. Even with a young and strong player, its hard for him to have a season like Terry last year. I don't think Terry could repeat that thing. Cahill became more and more shaky last year. Ivan is 31 already. There are many problem that can't ensure its still the best squad of the league.

P/s: I comment with constructive attitude.

I'm not overly concerned about signings by other teams so far. United have strengthened I agree but only in thier attack. It's highly likely De Gea will leave this summer and even with the signing of Damien they are still in need of at least 3 solid defensive signings to sort out their defence! I still think they are way off being strong title contenders this year.
Arsenal have signed Cech , City have signed Sterling and a whole load of bench warmers. Liverpool are throwing money around like crazy signing anyone and everyone and will more than likely be a complete shambles again like last year.
So I don't believe any of them have strengthened considerably that we should all start panicking!
I still believe we have the strongest first starting 11 and the strongest back up players to step in if someone is injured.
Terry has at least a season left in him and with Zouma and possibly Stones coming in I have no worries for our defence next season.
Our spine is incredibly strong with Courtois, Terry, Matic and Costa, then throw names like Hazard, Willian, Fabregas into the ring it's easy to see we have an amazing squad.
Everyone needs to stop worrying that we hAvnt signed this player or that player. The club will only strengthen when the quality players become available, not just buy for the sake of it.

18 Jul 2015 14:20:16
I no we weren't going to sign veratti Jackson but just stating we all agree that we need a top quality player next to matic were to open when fab plays der and I am looking forward to seeing rlc step up but not sure he's ready for cl level yet I also wonder y so many of you talk so highly of traore when he's never played prem football it's a big big step up interesting to see how he does I hope he's as good as all the fans make him out to be hope we have another great season lads CFC 👍😄

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 14:35:13
Magichands, I definitely agree that we need a good player for central midfield so Mourinho can rotate the squad a little more without too big a drop in quality. It seems Aranguiz will be that player. I haven't seen him play so hope the club are right by targeting him. We'll see.
And yes, a lot of us are perhaps expecting too much of Traore. I just believe he's supremely talented and has a mature game. I suspect Mourinho will ease him into the squad. If he could have a similar season to Zouma last season, that'd be marvelous. Same with RLC.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - those are about my expectations for Traore. If he can get around the same amount of time Zouma did last season I think that'd be good.}

18 Jul 2015 14:40:05
I believe traore going to light our team ;) I have big.hope for the lad that he can take this rw posution and make it his own

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 16:14:20
Exactly, Ed. He's only 19 right now. And I thought Zouma got more than decent time on the pitch last season to develop further. If Traore could develop close to the amount Zouma did last season then that'd be glorious!
But I think that he could be a very useful impact sub after a couple of weeks as he's got the ability to score.

I just don't understand we're all the confidence comes from with him sorry guys but I do hope he rips it up next year I remember reading that if burkani faso got to d World Cup he was being touted for young player of the tournament last year unfortunate it didn't happen so interesting to see how he fits in . I certainly hope big things come from Oscar he had a memorable goal v juve and since for me hasn't stepped up great work rate but I want to see more magic from him we all agree sees potential if he doesn't fill it this year he has to go . I'm still sick to my stomach we got rid of mata to keep Oscar in the 10 role . I'd like to know y we haven't had a look at Vidal the guy is an animal . 👿 maybe we have but who knows would of loved him to come think he would of came aswell the German league is poor he would of been a perfect mid for premier league Germany will be no challenge to him . let's hope this aranguiz will be good it seems he's the one we want I have faith in Jose although I feel he's slightly different to the Jose first time around

18 Jul 2015 17:49:01
Who has ridiculous pace? Traore? It could be, though I haven't seen it. He's no slouch as far as I know, but not a speedster either. I myself am very impressed with his elegance on the ball and finesse.

Ya traore Jackson bud I hear he has great pace and is very skilful with an eye to goal Willian had great atributes I'd love to give him a slap of a whip and say get the dam ball and run at people haha he's more than capable of it I like the guy a lot very frustrating to watch him go forward do . looking forward to seen traore and rlc . what about the rumours the mancs are hijacking our pedro bid would ye be happy to see him go to Man U or come to us . griezman would light up
Our squad and aranguiz and blood in traore and rlc fingers crossed a deal for griezman isn't impossible eh

Traore played as CM, LM, RM, sec.ST and CF during his spell in Vitesse. He was successful on every position that he played. Player with fantastic versatility.

I'd like Pedro for the prices rumoured (so 20 to 25 million perhaps), but only if Cuadrado leaves. He wouldn't be a bad signing if Cuad stays, but I'd call it a little unnecessary.

18 Jul 2015 00:35:38
That's going to be a difficult situation for pedro if he hasn't joined Chelsea by 29th when we play Barcelona or even worse if he has joined lol #awkwardmoment

18 Jul 2015 16:49:16
No need to panic there is a month and a half of the window left and Mourinho must have outlined where he wants additions and some of them were always going to be squad players (Falcao and Begovic) and he must feel that the ability to rotate Terry and even Ivanovic more in softer games is important. We ALL know that an attacking midfielder is a must and probably one other. Abramovich and Granovskaia will not let us down.
