I am concentrating on the women's team for the rest of the season. They did beat Arsenal ladies in the cup at the weekend and scored some cracking goals.

Honestly our defensive frailties isn't surprising in the slightest. Last season these same defenders put in similar performances in a defensive system with a back 5. Being moved to a back 4 in a attacking system was always going to make things worse especially now that Kante has also moved further up.

I think this will be the end of Sarri which is a shame because his stubbornness is not our biggest problem. Should the likes of Pedro, Alonso, Luiz, Jorginho, Azpi be in the team right now? No. But the goals we're conceding are basic schoolboy errors, this team isn't good enough and is showing little care to listen to Sarri.

I'm sure most of our fanbase will be happy to see the back of him and it may possibly help short term in getting into the top 4 but we'll get nowhere with any manager we bring in as long as most of these players are still at the club.

I think the board would have stuck with Sarri if he showed he could change things and be brave by dropping big egos like the players you mentioned. I don't think bad results would have concerned the board too much if he demonstrated the above. Its a lack of 'know how' that will cost him his job alongside his stubborness. Also we will lose real gems with him in charge. I think Hazard is a class act, he gets a lot of stick but today he just put his head down. Its hard playing knowing you have a player who is a massive liability in alonso but the coach keeps picking him and dropping a player who deserves to carry on.

Spot-on, Costa - Sarriball starts off looking attractive and exciting but is really boring and sedating (and ineffective and easy to combat) . Sarri really hasn't got a clue - is it Willian for Pedro or Barkley for Kovacic? CHO obviously is persuaded to stay because he likes getting splinters in his backside. Alonso is obviously suited to Sarriball because of his tremendous defensive abilities. Luiz is best in a back 4. Jorginho is a powerhouse at the apex of our midfield. Kante is best as an attacking midfielder. Sarri obviously believes all of the above otherwise why wouldn't he change!

Hey guys I never post just constantly read this site everyday. Been long time supporter and am from Canada. I will always support my team on the field. I was one hoping board would finally back a coach and give Sarri chance but have to admit with each passing game I wonder. His insistence on playing Jorginho, Alonso and Luiz has me baffled. His reluctance to change team up is going to cost us CHO and Christensen! We clearly need a true #10 ( I like Fekhir, 2xcb who can defend ( I like Manolas and Romagnoli) great all round and affordable and 2 fullbacks and prolific striker ( got to go all in for Icardi) . It's going to take at least two windows to get this! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I hate to say it but I don't think Sarri makes it past the coming weekend! Bring in coach number 10 in 10 years, what a mess! If so who would you guys like to see realistically come in. Myself Brendan Rogers with JT.

18 Feb 2019 21:51:59
No manager can come in and do a job here. These players are nowhere near good enough to play for Chelsea but seem to have all the Control at the club. I feel for Sarri, he's taken on a awful squad which aren't anywhere near capable of playing his football but the fans have been more on his back than the players and the board who are the bigger problems so he's the one that'll likely end up getting the boot. If he's sacked i don't care who comes in, i just hope it isn't Lampard, i don't want this club to ruin his managerial career. If i was any manager i'd stay as far away from this club as possible.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:04:48
JT hasn’t even got villa solid or stamped authority there. Don’t let club status blind you, what if he starts to lose games, then has to be moved on., we don’t even know what sort of manager / football he is about. Has 6 months experience as an assistant in a lower league, heart over head I think mate,

OGS wasn't any good. poor record . now look. if u have good players and keep them happy, play the right position they will preform.

18 Feb 2019 22:08:26
LondonBlue, I agree with the majority of your points.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:14:03
Matt. I agree with your point about JT lacking experience. I just think and believe he is a leader who the players would respect as a boss.

It’s all rubbish anyway, Sarri ain’t going to leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:19:01
LondonBlues, I usually support Sarri but the end is near in my view. Consider this project as a waste of time if he is sacked.

Sarri has inherited an aging squad but he doesn't help himself, he is so stubborn and he will be sacked. If he wasnt stubborn then maybe the board would have persisted.

Nobody tells him to keep playing Alonso, Jorginho, Willian and Pedro. He has RLC, CHO, Christensen and Emerson who are all raring to go but he persists with the former players. Surely they can't be any worse. We could end up losing all of them in the summer because of Sarri.

I mean Alonso was responsible for two goals against another Manchester side again? What does he need to do to be dropped. I can see why other senior players have lost hope. If a player is platforming badly then he needs to be dropped, i find the whole excuse that he gives a physical edge laughable. Atleast be fair to yourself. Like for like subs is not worth commenting on.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:53:03
CFCShak, i agree that he isn't helping himself. I made a post a couple of days ago expressing my utter bemusement to Sarri continuously picking players who are underperforming week in and week out. I honestly thought the drumming at City would've resulted in change but clearly his stubbornness has no limit. Personally i still don't think it should warrant the sack since i really don't expect any manager do be able to do any better long term. Our culture of sacking managers only worked in the past because what ever manager came in was walking into a bucket load of talent. That's not the case anymore, we have 2 world class players and that's it. If the board aren't serious about believing in Sarri and giving him time, then maybe it's best to get rid to help the likes of CHO and Christensen to stay. But we've been going backwards for a few years now and continuing to sack managers who try and change things when it gets tough will only make it worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 23:23:01
Very good reply LondonBlues. Its a shame because its not the bad results that's gets me. his stubborness to pick same players and alienating others and using like for like subs that will cost him dear.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 00:19:56
Yeah i honestly believe if he were to be using the likes of CHO, Christensen and Emerson more often the fans would have been more patient with him. Hopefully he learns and use them in the first team but i just can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 01:56:06
The sticking to the same out of form players is one of his biggest downfalls but the substitutions are a joke. Like for like just won't change a game unless you have a squad like City’s where they can bring on De Bruyne or one of the Silvas etc. Bringing on Barkley or Willian just isn’t going to have the same impact. And I’m sorry but subbing Azpi for Zappacosta is a laughable. Unless Azpi was injured I really don’t see why it was done as Zappacosta hasn’t shown any ability to cross or score goals bar the one or two flukes.

i say lamps and jt to take over because they are leaders of men and chelsea through an through theyl no how to get that dressing room going again how to motivate these players and most inportantly theyl automatically gain respect because of who they are . they are leaders of men jt and lamps bring them in.

Totally gutted. We created very few clear chances and we have some players playing badly and some lacking in confidence.

The substitutions, as usual boring and With the ball we were slow and withouthe ball even slower.

Alonso will get pelters for the first goal and losing the ball cheaply in midfield for the second wasn't fantastic and Kepa didn't cover himself in glory.

I think our midfield was caught in the break to often but also unlike the Utd midfielders they didn't track back to fill the gaps.

We live to fight another day. Come on my MIGHTY BLUES.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:41:32
Agree Tom but there was a bit of faster passing of the ball tonight. Not a bad effort but could have done with a few goals. Im a fan of Sarri and hope they give him time but as we are Chelsea i can't see him being here for long if this keeps happening. Matic should have seen red and Mata fouled so many of out players it just not funny Pogba was good tonight. can't blame our mishaps on the ref but we should have scored a few.

The space we have behind compared to the packed 9 players behind ball united have is worrying jorginho being pressed and isn't doing anything, Alonso pulled all over, kovecic looks tired, 45 to go. Shambles.

Makes it worse when we actually play pretty well and are losing comfortably. 2-0 flatters United but we’re really creating nothing yet again.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 20:26:40
Shearer bang on about jorginho. With the ball he does his job, without the ball his a liabitlly, his vital to the way Sarri wants to okay but we need to tweak things, kante instead and he tracks the ring for first goal, but really really don’t want Zola taking over he is a terrible manager, Zidane struggled in the league with Madrid with a superstar team oh god, Jose is coming back isn’t he?! Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 20:27:05
Alonso not been good this season shouldn’t be starting
Luiz looking sloppy should close down the cross Jorghino not strong enough on the ball same culprits different game it’s so obvious to see how Sarri can’t I don’t know.

I am slowly starting to lean towards sarri out brigade.

Wanted him so much in Chelsea but it seems he is too stubborn to change something when it doesn't work.

Agree3 Disagree1

18 Feb 2019 20:32:03
If he changed things and it didn’t work I could be a lot more sympathetic it’s the fact he’s so stubborn it’s infuriating we all can see it barring him.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Feb 2019 21:09:15
Loosing 2-0 15 to go Barkley for Kovacic it’s unbelievable
Does he have no plan b or ideas it’s getting beyond a joke Willian for Pedro same substitutions every game nothing different wether we’re winning or loosing he’s surely got to be more tactically astute to have any chance of succeeding here
Was so looking forward to the game got to keep supporting COYB.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:10:09
Sarri has got to go! He is the only person on gods green earth that thinks Kante should not play in the centre. Had enough of Jorginho now he can’t defend he can’t attack he can barley pass the ball. I wanted lampard at the start of the season I would take him now all day long!

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:14:30
RW for RW, CM for CM and RB for RB. Once again, top substitutions from Sarri, he’s a true mastermind.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:15:13
Sadly we are seeing why Sarri hasn't won anything, it is 'groundhog day' with him, the same and more of the same. We are now between a rock and a hard place, Sarri goes and it is disruption and probably no chance of grabbing 4th, he stays and the crowd and media will be on his back for the rest of the season and that will be as disruptive.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - it has to be pretty simple for other teams to prepare for Chelsea. Sarri is so predictable}

18 Feb 2019 21:30:04

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:49:00
C1955, why would sacking Sarri now mean that we wouldn't get 4th place? Look what changing the manager has done for United!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:18:04
For sure over the years changing a manager has on occasions brought results and success, we only have to look at Robbie D but it doesn’t always work, look at the second time Guus came back, nothing changed then.

We need bigger changes than a manager IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 18:07:40
Cho starting would be nice, and a win and performance for the Sarri out brigade would be even better, hopefully we see the team that beat spurs recently rather than the one who gave up at city,

Whats up with Emerson? Not even in squad. is he injured all of a sudden?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 18:51:53
I hope he’s injured because he definitely deserves a start does he not like rotation because it’s the same 11 95% of the time he needs to change he’s thinking or he won’t get anywhere imo players out of form need to be taken out the firing line and other squad members deserve a chance all again imo.

18 Feb 2019 19:06:14
Same old team out tonight, probably same set-up. Tomorrow we will either enthuses about being close to another final or possibly Sarri will be on his way. Zidane and his £200m war chest starting to look attractive?

I’m a big fan of a club legend on the bench, amongst the squad, but as manager? Not for me, unless they prove they are good enough then fair enough but because there status at a club shouldn’t mean they are good enough to manage you.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 07:46:18
As much as he was a great leader on the pitch JT has no managerial/ significant coaching experience so why, after having so many top managers pass through, would they risk someone untried. Lampard would be a better choice but he is intelligent enough to know he needs another season or two of experience. If Sarri goes I would imagine Zola will get the temporary job but it would be temporary as he is not strong enough to be a manager and certainly not with us. How do we keep getting into this mess?

{Ed001's Note - this one: 17 Feb 2019 20:44:24

As I'm on Twitter and follow a lot of Chelsea twitter sites I just noticed how much respect I've lost for Chelsea Fans Channel. I used to think they were really good but the disrespect they have for fans is disgusting. Rory and Charlie especially. Apparently if you don't go to every game and because everyone isn't Sarri out like them two you cannot be proper fans. Shocking. I work a shift pattern and live in north wales so I only manage 6/ 7 games a season and to be honest I don't like home games the atmosphere doesn't excite me as much as away. Think Chelsea fans are really split over the direction the club is heading at the minute but arguing amongst each other is awful. Well they've had an unfollow anyway. I did give Rory a piece of me mind but unfortunate I ended up getting blocked 😂.

I don't know either, maybe just because whoever edited it didn't want the site to get dragged into a slanging match about other site? I have no idea.}
