the reason he picked the so called deadwood today is because he has the biggest game of his career on tuesday,2 days away and b4 you comment i mean full 24 hrs rest.PB i couldnt agree more with all your comments are you avb agent lol.Cfc are not on the decline they are rebuilding for i think a very bright future.Shed End can you tell me another premiership side who has spent so heavily on the future in the last two windows,i bet your thinking what about the now.Well the now is cl football and f a cup ok the prem is out of reach but when you look at citeh spending we couldnt compete with that this year ,WAGES 25 man squad and trying to get players past there best sold.citeh started like us with mourinho a blank canvas and open cheque book. AvB wasnt given that.He was given courtois debruyne.lukaku piazon davillas mata romeu cahill feruz two twins from luton and the guy from notts forest forget there names, plus countless other youth players plus josh, bertrand.they are all young and next year they im sure will start to intergrate fully with first team.this is basically a new team of quality waiting in the ranks to come in .Luiz ,ramires and sturridge on top and i think things arent as bad as you make out.city have no youth players playing ,united have maybe two wellbeck and cleverly the rest want to leave ,spurs have walker, gooners have the ox and look how bad they are at the mo.So quit your whinging and start to think of the bigger picture we are starting afresh from the special ones era getting a good solid building block for the future buying young and cheap, plus the odd mega buy i.e mata i think the days of massive buys are gone i do believe AVB has come in with a plan to get rid of the ghost that has surrounded the club in jose, and will get the job done.
As much as i adore jose he has got lucky, porto good team done well chelsea spent so much money and won the league and cup not cl against a weaker liverpool side always seem to falter, inter they were at there prime when he went there and had one good result against barca and one the lot, real how much money has he spent there and has one nowt, this year he will WHY coz barca arent as good as they were ,real havent got better.
Please get behind the team the manager and the club we are chelsea and proud KTBFFH utb

Whats with the disrespect again telling people to shut up when they have a different opinion! I love Chelsea, i want whats best for the club, im very concerned, i dont think AVB has the skills to take us forward, we will probably improve, its impossible not too, for me though, he's proved with his selections, substitutions, tactics and interviews thats hes out of his depth and is not quite good enough in all departments. I go to games, buy the strips, got the badge on my tattooed on my calf, that is my opinion and im entitled to it. Said it before but it still applies, yesterday we played Mikel and Kalou, we drew 1-1 at stamford bridge with a championship side, how can you all be so adament hes the right man for the job, this is the first time ive ever wanted a manger out too by the way

he will come good but you need to play to his strenghts and theres only one man that can do that sg,good luck for the future, jimmybosun,

I agree Torres needs someone who can play that defence splitting ball.

Whose incompetence? The strikers hardly recieve passes and they have to drop deep to get the ball.
The coach makes questionable substitutions and his tactics are not the most ideal in given scenarios
The coach retains some players game in game out yet these players make poor passes, lack judgement and mostly sluggish
The management knows it needs wingers, a world class quality and proven striker, and a playmaker. It does not do enough to get either but instead signs unproven kids for the future yet we need instant solution,
So, who is the most competent?

I don't think it's the lack of creativity we are missing,I think we seriously lack pace going forward.Other than Sturridge and ramires we are slow all over.I was so happy when we signed Torres but sadly it's not working for him and unless we spend a lot of money in the summer then he will still be the same player next season. Also can we really afford to let didier leave, because it again is going to cost £30m at least to try and replace him.I believe he still has two years in him while lukaku goes out on loan next year to hopefully a premiership club.I just hope we can scrape fourth spot, cannot see us getting past Napoli and today's performance v Birmingham was awfull. If AVB is still in charge next season then maybe Steve Clarke or ray wilko should come back as assistant because I don't see how di matteo is helping.i believe in AVB but he has too be given a lot of money in the summer as we need at least 5 talented first team players, not youngsters who will go out on loan.
Possible targets:
Hazard,cavani,falcao,Walcott,VDW,Hulk,
Keep drogba, terry and lampard just use them as squad players like giggs and scholes at utd.
Personally would like a cheeky £50m bid for van persie maybe using Torres plus £25m.
Don't think we have the players to play 4-3-3 at the moment so maybe 4-2-2-2
Cech,ivanovic,terry,Cahill,cole,luiz DM,lampard,mata,ramires,drogba,Sturridge.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Was sort of agreeing, thinking you may not be a complete idiot, then saw walcott and quality player in the same sentence without a negative in between, and a "personally I'd like to see a cheeky 50m£ bid for Van Persie"

1, we are trying to cut spending,
2, hmm, 50 million.... I love torres, but I think we can all agree, the last one of those bids didn't go exactly to plan now did it?

i thought we bought meireles as an alternitive to modric. meireles just plays as another defensive midfielder. if your going to play the formation we are playing you need 3 different midfielders.one to sit back and cover, romeu
one workhorse,ramires
and a playmaker,mata.
meireles was brought in to be a playmaker and hes just another defensive mid. we have 2 defensive mids and one workhorse and we play the only player in our team who can play a through ball out on the left, and he just comes in anyway meaning we have no width and we are to tight, making us easy to defend against.

I've been one of Torres biggest supporters over the last year but if he continues to start ahead of the Drog we are in serious trouble. I really hope AVB goes on to become a chelsea legend but these 2 weeks will make or break him as a manager and I hate to say it but we are a better side without Torres. Agree or disagree comments welcome.

Believable9 Unbelievable6

You got my agreement

shak

Agree1 Disagree1

Totally agree,Torres hasnt performed at all, with him as first choice striker dont think we will finish in top four, all strikers go through lean periods but his shows no sign of ending, time to offload and get someone in who knows where the net is.

Agree1 Disagree0

One word "shcevchenko"

Agree1 Disagree1

I still think he has offered us alot more than Shevchenko as his assist rate is tremendous but agree 100%, we cannot start him ahead of Didier aslong as Didier is willing to put in a shift.

How many passes did Torres receive in a forward position ? None.He has to come to deeper positions to get the ball.Isn't it sad,how poor our midfield has become. What does the manager do to increase our tempo ,he brings on Drogba for Torres and keeps on Mikel. How many passes does Drogba get ?Approximately four .Both not with one clear cut opportunity at goal. And how exactly do you expect our strikers to score! The one and only problem we have ,which apparently AVB cannot see ,is our midfield.Mireles cannot pass even if a player is standing right in front of him.Mikel probably has taken an oath never to pass a ball forwards;poor fellow cannot even pass the ball without taking three touches.Ramires and Sturridge have no guile ,but do possess a lot of pace, which is useless when you do not know when to pass.Lets not blame our strikers when for not scoring goals when the do not get a single scoring chance though out the match. How dumb can a manager be?
roan

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Your right pal, just said on final score exactly what i said earlier, Swapping a striker for a striker is pointless when its the midfield thats failing

SHED END

Agree4 Disagree0

Totally agree, the problem who have is if you bring Mata inside and play him CAM who do you play LW? Malouda? Kalou? Both dont really bring much to that role at all :(

PB

Agree3 Disagree0

For me, Sturridge is the obvious answer on the left of a front 3 along with Drogba and Torres, with a midfield 3 of Mata, Essien and Ramires, i think that would be formidable, but AVB knows best apparantley

I'm ashamed at those who want AVB sacked. What about stability or do you prefer getting another manager and starting this cycle all over again? AVB is trying his best, i know some of you want instant success but to be honest it will take time. Only he will know who to replace because his seen it first hand hand.

Torres being subbed off was right. His had his fair chances and hasnt taken any so he doesnt warrant a first team football. Todays result wasnt the best but look at the bright side. we are still in the FA cup from being a goal down and after Birmingham parked their bus literally. Ramires had a good game, big boost having him back and lets be honest it was alot better than the game against Everton. We created a few chances but we all know we lack some creativity. Give AVB time and he will bring his players. Unless you want a new manager who gives the dead wood and second chance?? I know id rather have future success over immediate success.

Get behind the manager rather than following this stupid trend of changing managers everytime we are in trouble. No wonder we are always recording losses at the end of year accounts. Pressure fron fans and media calling for his head dont help.

Its not all over yet. Get behind the Team.

Chelsea Till the End

Shak

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Shak. Yes Chelsea to the end but you got to agree that AVB is lost. Hes not inspiring us at all or showing us anything to look to the future for. He persists in playing players who are not good enough, Mereiles every game. Why did he not give Piazon a chance today in place of him. With no disrespect it was Birmingham and not one of their players would get in our team. If you are looking to the future well this season is a write off. Why not give the young players their chance and it might give us the optimism you seem to have.

Agree4 Disagree1

How can you be ashamed pal, weve all got a right to an opinion, i love the club, i cant blindly follow something i believe to be bad for the club any longer. Just think for a second, what if next season is like this season, and then the season after that is the same, this is how declines start. It was meant to be this season for rebuilding, start benefitting next year, now its next season for rebuilding, start benefitting the year after, we are turning into arsenal. Forget the rebuilding thing thats irrelevant today, if he cant manage a team of internationals, superstars, champions league players to a win over a championship side, what makes you think he will sucseed, middle of Feb now and we are still in steep decline, a lot worse than last year, exactly how far are you prepared to watch it decline before you admit hes wrong for chelsea, for me its more of a risk keeping him than it is getting rid of him, 2 out of last 11 games mate, theres nothing to get behind

SHED END

Agree4 Disagree0

Also to add, Luiz would be a superb Mid. Vision, technique, pace all are part of his attributes.

Second half was alot better. More of that please. I think Drogbas introduction lifted the team. more mental than anything tho.

Tim

Agree2 Disagree0

Ok then SHED END what would you suggest spending £20m+ firing AVB and hiring who? Promoting Di Matteo to take over while we buy out who of their very expensive contract and pay another £15m+ compensation? Every saying sack the manager is so F**king stupid it is really starting to annoy me.

Once again we made a loss of £66m+ last year and £45m of that was from firing Anchelloti and hiring AVB. We can not compete financially if we do this again this season, let alone once again no stability and once again another manager sacked.

If you think AVB going and bringing in Mr X will change Malouda, Mikel, Bosingwa, Miereles, Torres and so on suddenly become world class players and start producing performances that their wages would justify your stupiud.

Until someone actually suggests something viable, shut up and support our team.

PB

Agree4 Disagree4

Were all clearly still behind the team mate,if we werent we wouldnt waste our time watching the games.no matter how awful we play and how disappointing the results we still have the desire to root for the blues.but still its within our rights to feel frustrated by the lack of risk taking and tactical competency shown by avb so far.I for one am still not convinced he is the right person to take us forward, but hey thats just one fans opinion.in the end the management decides and we all have to live with it.

Agree3 Disagree0

I completely understand, we were 3-0 up against Manchester United they came back 3-3, lost 2-0 to Everton now 1-1 with Birmingham, for Chelsea FC it is not good enough, as a fan im am really frustrated to see our team play so poorly on a consistant basis BUT we have to support the team. The vast amount of players we currently have at the club are either past their prime or not good enough plain and simple and no matter if we sacked AVB this wouldnt change. We have to give him time, i didnt want Mourinho or Anchelloti sacked but they were, we have to give this guy a chance and let him have the summer to buy HIS players to play HIS style then after 10 games see if HIS signings and decisons have been good or bad for Chelsea, not sack him with a load of under performing players that the next new manager would inherit.

PB

Agree2 Disagree0

Who you speaking to pal, watch your mouth, i made a valid point i wasnt aggresive, your wrong, were in decline, he doesnt know what hes doing, if we have Essien and Lampard on the bench why play Mikel and Miereles, that is AVB's poor management, can you explain this to me because i cant work it out, why wasnt Lukaku on the bench to bring on rather than Kalou? again, this is poor management, why is he taking Mata off every game? again poor management, why did we keep Josh for the first half of the season when he diddnt play, the send him out in the second half when we do need him? he asked to go out on loan at the start but AVB said no and diddnt play him, really poor management, we could of had a much more experoenced Mcecheran to chose from aswel, YOU'RE the annoyin one mate, im not prepared to watch the club i love go decline without saying anything, you are, everyones aying he hasnt had chance and we're rebuilding, how hasnt he had a chance, he's had 2 windows, how is he rebuilding he is not playing the youth? My opinion is based on facts and results, yours is based on predicting the future,

Explain to me what positive impact has had on this club?

SHED END

Agree3 Disagree0

I understand you all are frustrated and its abit rash calling for AVB's head. i have to agree with PB. I couldn't have said it any better. if you look at our financial position and lossess we record year in year out id be worried.

As for the decline if you give AVB the chance, he will deffo spend in the summer then this decline wont last for long, its rash calling us arsenal. Get behind AVB, because a new manager aint doing nothing with the dead wood in the squad. best case scenario is a repeat of this year..... one thing certain expect big changes in the summer.

Shak

Agree1 Disagree3

Dont get me wrong i hope your both right, i really do, i like the bloke, but i think hes out of his depth and il stand by it, i hope a year down the line i can hold my hands up and say yeah i judged him too quickly, but i have a feeling that wont be the case, im not saying we're arsenal, im saying all declines start somewhere, i think this is ours, everyone keeps on about the deadwood, how is that a valid point, AVB keeps playing them, you cant keep blaming the deadwood when its the manager whos allowing the deadwood to play, if the manager picked me to start upfront and i played poorly, whos fault would it be, mine or the managers? today Mikel and Kalou played. Theres is no further point i need to make

SHED END

Agree3 Disagree0

Everyone is missing the big point here.... 'His' means belongs to and 'he's' means he is. Add to that the 'your' when it should be 'you're'- what's going on with this world? Learn to use words correctly people!

Agree2 Disagree0

So SHED END what is your suggestion? Play Mceachran, Lukaku, Lampard and Essein? Sack AVB and bring in who?

Seems like your just making alot of naive comments based on what ifs

We have got what we have got, hes had 1 month of the summer window where HE brought in Romeu, Mata, Lukaku to me 3 good signings and 2 for the future, as Ed002 has stated Lukaku is a talent but very Raw and i think she knows and the Chelsea coaching staff no if we was ready.

If you think the January window we should have bought players, who would you suggest? Hazard? not for sale in january, Higuain? Not for sale in january, Cavani? Not for sale in january, Goetze? not for sale in january. Once again talk is easy you think AVB didnt want to rbing anyone in? You think all coaching, player additions, tactics, scouting is down to just 1 man? Its not just AVB he has a coaching team that needs to improve and give AVB some help.

The thing we agree on is that we love Chelsea FC and want them to succeed, just oviously our opinion on how to succeed differs.

PB

Agree0 Disagree1

I think everyone has the right to their opinions. I cant answer your question Shed, if i knew why he selected mikel over essien then i would tell you pal.

But i think AVB needs to buy his players in the summer and be given ten games like PB said, fair assessment. Sacking him now would be shocking and would prove nothing.

One thing we all agree on is the fact that the results have been poor. I have faith that AVB will take us forward.

shak

Agree0 Disagree1

No, hold on a min pal, you keep contradicting yourself, you diddnt agree that we all love chelsea, you said my opinion was stupid, and that i should shut up because my opinion differed from yours, dont give it the big un if your going backtrack after, on another post you said you agreed that AVBs subs were wrong, and that it wasnt Torres' fault, yet in this post your saying its not AVB's fault, and saying it is Torres' fault, your views are not consistant,

what would i do, yeah id sack AVB, if theres noone available, leave it with Di Matteo for the rest of the season, hes chelsea through and through give him a chance, and yeah, if this is the rebuilding year i would of played Lukaku, Josh, Romeu, Bertrand, De Bruyne, what is the difference in finishing 5th with the current older players who will be shortly moved on, or probably 8th or 9th with the younger players? no difference at all, no champions league is no champions league, transition season done in one hit, weve brought through a lot of youngsters and only lost out on a few places.

This plan isnt succeeding, how can not be getting it, we are going to end up losing a year only to be in the same position, like i said, today we played Mikel and Kalou, and your saying this manager is the right man for the job, dillusional

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree0

We are still in the FA cup so its not all over. I bet Arsenal would love to be in our position now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said i think your opinion on sacking AVB is F ing stupid not your support for Chelsea, the vast majority of people on this site love Chelsea FC and want them to succeed we just all have different views on how it should be achieved. I said people should shut up saying sack AVb when they dont have a constructive and viable solution to if he goes how the club is hit financially and who would be his replacement and if you honestly feel Di matteo who is AVB assistant manager is going to make things better after his poor managerial record then fair enough.

Im not quiet sure what your on about SHED END i rate Torres and think given the service and one on one oppotunities on goal he would succeed but he hasnt been given those oppotunities, none of our strikers have and he isnt the type of player to create something out of nothing, i did say he hasnt been performing to the level that warrants a transfer fee of £50m and 170k wages a week. I dont understand AVB and HIS TEAM taking Mata off and bringing people like Malouda and Lampard on for example when he is our best player but that is the WHOLE coaches teams decision not just AVB's.

If you really feel that sacking AVB, promoting De bruyne, Romeu, Josh, Lukaku, bertrand and Piazon to the 1st team and benching Drogba, Torres, Lampard, Cole and so on is wise for the team chemistry and beneificial to Chelsea's season then fair enough but i dont understand it at all.

Your plan is naive and based on a hatrid of poor performances and results not a sustainable future and season for Chelsea. There is a huge difference between finishing 8th/9th than getting 5th. Ask any other Chelsea fan and im sure theyll say the same.

If Pep Guardiola becomes available then maybe look at that as a possibility but if not stick with AVb because GOD cudnt do a much better job with the calibur of players we have at Chelsea atm.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

So if an opinion is different than yours its stupid? your a full on toby mate, how could another manager NOT do better! His tactics are rubbish, his selections are rubbish and he cant motivate the team, basically what your saying is, if we bring in another manager, who played our best side, made good substitutions, had a plan b and plan c in games, and who could inspire and motivate the team, that we still wouldnt be any better, and this is the best any manager could do (apart from god, he could do just a bit better yeah?)

Chelsea 1 - 1 Birmingham
Everton 2 - 0 Chelsea
Chelsea 3 - 3 Man U (after being 3 up)
Swansea 1 - 1 Chelsea
Norwich 0 - 0 Chelsea
Chelsea 1 - 3 Aston Villa
Chelsea 1 - 1 Fulham
Wigan 1 - 1 Chelsea
Chelsea 0 - 2 Liverpool
Chelsea 1 - 2 Liverpool
Laverkusen 2 - 1 Chelsea
Genk 1 - 1 Chelsea
Chelsea 3 - 5 Arsenal
QPR 1 - 0 Chelsea

Your saying this is about Par for the team yeah? and GOD couldnt do much better, what planet are you on, Is RDM's record much worse than that speaking in relative terms, i dont think so, AVB has had one good season, i would have had a good season with that Porto team, i cant get my head round what your basing your faith in him on,

Oh and by the way, your contradicting yourself again, your whole thing is based on sacrificing short term for long term sucsess yeah, but when i suggest finishing 8th or 9th this season with the youth, you said no it would be better to finish 5th, thats YOU thinking short term right there pal, over just 3 places too

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha your on crack m8 talking rubbish. Sack AVB fine then, promote Di Matteo cause he isnt involved in ANY decisions player or tactics related, the players are playing exceptional but its all the managers fault cause he isnt motivating them.

What do you actually realisticly want apart from spending £20,000,000 sacking AVB, promoting Di matteo to 1st team coach till the end of the season (Did a great job with West Brom) recalling Joshy and playing half of the bench and a few reserve team players.

If you honestly feel that is going to be more successful for the present and future of Chelsea then fair enough, think your on your own though.

How is keeping AVB sacrificing short term success in comparison to your scenario, you get a manager in you give him time. Or shall we start a Blackburn fan revolt against the manager. Utter disgrace.

PB

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate you said yourself that only god could get more out of these players, your the one on crack, yes i think playing the youth now would be best for the future of chelsea, is there any point continuing the debate, lets just wait and see what happens then, if he becomes a success, which i hope he does, i will hold my hands up and say i was wrong, i will not apologise though for being concerned and wanting what i believe to be best for the club me, and all my family love, your a full on toby though pal, proper keyboard warrior insulting people for having a different opinion, by the way, you can agree to your own posts, and disagree to mine as much as you want, i dont care what anyone on here thinks pal, you are becoming the minority now

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand your concerned im concerned, the club is underachieving, the manager is under alot of pressure, the club hasnt come out and shown its support enough for me, the crowd is boooing now at matches, this is the last thing i want and im sure its the last thing you want. I cant understand though how ridiculling the manager on a daily weekly basis (not just talking about you) solves anything though? He is th manager we have we need to support him and the team, there is no other plan or option atm.

I was only able to watch the first 20mins and by all reports since I was lucky as it got no better. From what I was able to watch We move the ball so slow it is pedestrian and so easy for teams to get into shape and defend against us. Pass it across the back line 4 or 5 times, then in midfield where Mikel and Meireiles or whoever is in there pass it side ways. No wonder it is so easy even for a championship side against us.We have the worst midfield of any top 10 club. I will always support the team but the way we are playing I think Napoli will do us and the Brums have a good chance. If thats the case it will be an awful season and the football we have been watching is dire. There are good players at the club who just are not performing. The manager has to take responsibility along with the players. He coaches them and sets them up to play his way. AVB has an arrogance and a comment he made earlier in the season about it will cost the club money to get rid of him.It will cost the club a lot more if we keep him with no CL football. 30mil per year is it depending on how far you go. why does the club go for all these managers from abroad. Brendan Rodgers I feel would have been better than AVB. He has to go and the club needs to invest big time in the summer

Roman Abramovich should just sack the whole club. Sacking AVB might get Bosingwa, MAlouda and Meireles off the pitch, but hardly will make Torres score a goal, or Chelsea to perform like a top 10 team in the nation.

Just when eveyone keeps saying that EPL level has gone up since 2004-2005, all i can say it is complete b****cks and demonstarted by English clubs performances in Europe recently. If United are challenging for EPL with this crap of a squad, just imagine who we are in these terms.

I wouldn't know where to start to solve all of this mess. But i guarantee you - the board would go first. Then the "advisors", then the head scout (how's it going Emenalo?), oops it happens to be director of football (what's your resume, mate?).

And only then after cleaning half the house should one go after the squad. Look, with the facilities we have and the wages we are paying, aren't we entitled for a goal here and there? We are just pathetic.

Sincerily yours,
AVB

Another point, what exactly is Di Matteo's role, AVB is making bad decisions before and during games, RDM was a class player, has managed before, surely he must see this, they cant both be blinded by it, he must be either not saying anything, or saying something and its getting ignored. Surely he knows the game better than AVB, id rather have RDM making the key decisions until the end of the season, or at least have them joint manage, just some extra input from somewhere because on his own AVB is getting it wrong

Ron Gourlay was looking very angry at the final whistle this will just increase pressure on AVB but with Hiddink gone to Anzhi i cannot see anyone who may replace him what did you make of the game ed02? {Ed002's Note - I did not watch the game but adding a replay in to the schedule is by no means ideal.}

Most of you that are saying AVB should go are plastic!

What is he supposed to do with this s**t squad really.

Do you want us the throw away our clubs sustainability for short term glory?

AVB hasnt has a chance. Support the club, if we were to sack AVB who will get think about it. Avram Grant at best.

ML UP THE BLUES

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Its unfair to call anybody a plastic fan, we just drew against a championship team at stamford bridge, we had a better player in every single position and we were second best for large periods of the game, it isnt working, i dont fancy us beating anyone in the league home or away right now, i think theres every right to panic, he has a chance every game to make decent substitutions, he has a chance every day in training to iron out the defencive problems, i shared your attitude pal up until a fornight ago, cant do it anymore if that makes me plastic then im plastic

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree0

It's plain to see that the majority of the players do not believe avb is the right man. They all top players but seem unable or unwilling to perform for him. Having seen his substitutions today can't say I blame them, quite frankly pathetic, none of them made any sense or in fact made any change to the performance as a whole. I believe we are stuck with him though until we're out of the champs league, thankfully this should be the end of the week!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry Second Best?? which game was you watching? i cant recall birmingham putting 5 passess together. Get real and support the team rather than praying for another manager and wasting another season.

Agree0 Disagree0

We might have not been second best but did you see how very sh*t our passing was, their players passed the ball way better than we did all game.

aL

Agree1 Disagree0

So we outplayed Brum and they diddnt deserve a point?, the cut us open a few times, Redmond should of scored, we diddnt have any clear cut chances, you need to open your eyes mate, it isnt working, there is no progress at all, we are worse, its getting worse, he is poor at decision making, your the one who needs to get real mate, my opinion is based on facts and results, yours is based on prediciting the future

whatever torres wage is, roman needs to quadruple it because he was so good avb took him off at half time to give the birmingham defence a break

Believable2 Unbelievable1

So agree, AVB has to go now!!

Arggggggggggg why Torres off, why not take Miereles off and just drop Mata in midfield and have Drogba AND torres on, he had no service at all then, stupid decisions AGAIN, he HAD to replace Mikel with Essien or Lampard then too, this is doing my head in

SHED END

Believable4 Unbelievable2

So now with Kalou on, weve basically took Torres from the front line and added Kalou, if he wasnt already that has finished torres

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree1

Why Torres off?,3 goals in 24 matches should give you a clue, hope hes played his last match for us,17 million per goal, pathetic.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ok very funny AVB, we've all had a laugh yeah yeah good one.... now seriously- what's your relationship with Meireles? Cousin, brother, nephew? If none of these then what the hell is that clown doing in a Chelsea shirt and making our starting 11 on a regular basis?

Agree4 Disagree0

In all honesty SHED torres was woeful for the half he played. Offered nothing, Drogba has given us a lift. Kalou for mikel shows attacking intent.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree3

Nooooo Mata off for Lampard!! why not Miereles off for Lampard, we need to win now i dont fancy us in a replay,

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree0

As of now (88 mins), Drogba hasnt added anything, the only lift is mental, why arent the players lifted anyway, Torres wasnt woeful then, he wasnt good or bad, he diddnt have enough of the ball to form an opinion, Kalou for Mikel is a poor substitution, whats the point in having 4 forward players with no midfields that can link the ball to them, your defending his substitutions and it was 1-1, against a championship team at the bridge, the subs diddnt work,

SHED END

Agree3 Disagree0

If we started 4 2 3 1 mata in the mid torres would have had half a chance on goal. i see pep gordiola is favourite 2 replace avb

Agree1 Disagree0

The problem then was the midfield, swapping a striker for a striker isnt going to change the midfield, my point is its better to have Torres, Drogba, Sturridge and Mata on, rather than Kalou, Miereles, Drogba and Sturridge, he should of took Miereles off (totally ineffective again), dropped Mata back in midfield and played with a front 3 od DD, FT, and DS, he should of swapped Mikel for Essien or Lampard,

Ramires Essien Mata
Sturridge Torres
Drogba

Would that front 5 have struggled as much as the one AVB chose, i very much doubt it, its not rocket science

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't blame torres nor drogba,if you watched the match you can clearly see that we have a useless midfield.why does avb stick with the same formation over and over again?shouldve started romeu for mikel and essien for meireles and played a diamond with sturridge and torres the two upfront.
I can only laugh after each game, thats how pissed off o am right now

aL

Agree3 Disagree0

We can keep supporting Torres through thick and thin which I wholeheartedly agree with but you need to be realistic. First touch was shocking as it has been for the entire season, he runs into the wrong places for a striker. I agree he doesnt get quality delivery but how can you when you dont present a good option to pass to. When he played for Liverpool his first touch was incredible which allowed him to get through balls and dispatch them, I dont believe he can do it anymore and I have supprted him this whole time. I dont know how people can support Fernando and not AVB, in my opinion AVB has had a much better season.

The idiots on here are blaming the old gaurd ( no proof), but avb picks the old gaurd at every turn. He chooses to ignor all our bright young talent, then tells us he's rebuilding the team. Well I have news for you AVB, the team has been rubbish all year & yet youi still refuse to give the youngsters a chance. He's no different to scolari.
Get rids of this person now, otherwise napoli will knock us out of the CL.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

To be fair Scolari wasn't this bad, he wasn't really given a chance and he wasn't backed like AVB is, how different would scolari's reign have been if we got robinho who he wanted?

Glad to see Bertrand start but disappointed to see Lukaku not even on the bench. On the other hand it will be good to take a look at Nathan Redmond up close, I've only seen him on the TV but he looks a good prospect. Do you know of any interest in Redmond from chelsea Ed? Thanks

We need a long term strategy. Yes AVB has been naive and made mistakes, but he is young and has the task of breaking up the core of our most successful teams of the last decade. We are lucky to have a bright, young manager who has shown he will do it his way with his vision for the future. If that means not winning anything for a couple of years so be it.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I agree to some extent, however champ league qualification is a must even in our transition period firstly becausw we need it to attract top quality and secondly because of the revenues it brings to the club
