Been thinking about the line-up for Saturday a lot. this is my conclusion

begovic
iva cahill terry azpil
RLC Oscar fab matic hazard
costa

I know the midfield looks funny there but I can see fabregas playing as high up as hazard for this one. as he has with spain or did with barca.

Willian and Pedro both out! So who comes in on the right? If I know Mourinho the way I think I do then I'm almost certain it'll be Ramires starting there as he'll help out Ivanovic (who I think'll get the nod at RB) the most.

Begovic

Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta

Loftus-Cheek, Matic, Oscar

Ramires, Hazard

Costa

With Willian and Pedro out I'd like to see us line up like this:
Begovic
Azpi Cahill Terry Rahman
RLC Matic
Oscar Fab Hazard
Costa

However I could see Ramires coming in and playing on the right. In which case one of Oscar/Fab/RLC will be dropped.

For me, Saturday would look like this-:

Begovic.

Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Rahman. = Pace from the back

Loftus-Cheek, Matic, Oscar. = Has a little bit of everything that has been missing.

Falcao, Costa, Hazard. = Decent pace and movement which Arsenal struggle with.

Same defense as yesterday for Saturday (but tell Rahman to play a bit more conservatively). Then a midfield three of Fabregas, Matic and RLC. And in attack I'd like to see Hazard and Oscar play fairly narrow behind either one of the 3 strikers. Tell Azpi and Rahman to provide a bit of width, but they can't go all out bombing forward. Let them pick their moments.
I think this could work.

What a change that result will make to Mou picking the line up!
Oscar and ramires being fit is also MASSIVE. I would rather have them both on the pitch for big games than pedro and willian.

IF rami could get back to form we could start to look very very comfortable again.

very worried for hazard.

What I would like, to be brave
Begovic
Dave zouma terry baba
Ramires matic RLC
Oscar costa hazard
That's my team, def leave out ivanovic and fabregas, both too slow and make too many mistakes in possession.

Even though I don't necessarily agree with it, I'm pretty certain Mourinho will start Fabregas since it's against Arsenal.

i'm not saying Hazard is playing well, as we all can see he's not up to par but he's still created the 4th most amount of chances in the PL this season. I wouldn't be too worried about him yet.

I'd go with magicaleden and Jackson on this one

I agree with Jackson, not sure why the rest want to pair Terry/Cahill while we're still playing a high line regardless of who's at fullback. I'm not sure what 'who needs history' and J have been watching but I don't want to see a back line of Ivan/Cahill/Terry again as I wouldn't expect a result in that match. Also, Ramires is not a winger as we found out about 3 or 4 managers ago. If Kenedy is fit I'll like to see him as a sub.

Just to be clear 'bluelab', thought I was pretty clear, that's not the line up I want to see - it's the line up I think Mourinho will go for. Ramires isn't a winger but Mourinho has played him there often enough in big games that he wants to keep tight - without any other wingers, other than kids, I expect him to start. I don't want Ivanovic to start, I've been pretty critical of him, but I can't see Mourinho not starting him. Then again I might be wrong (happens now and again).

Fair enough J, if Jose does that though, as much as I'd love to send Wenger away sad, I would not expect a result.

Good performance against poor opposition, but no matter their standard the team defo looked a hell of a lot more balanced tonight.

Lots of talk already regarding which players come/stay in vs. Arsenal. I think we'll see Terry and Cahill at the back and the decision with the full backs is the really difficult one - but ultimately he'll go back to Ivanovic for his big game experience.

RLC was the MOM today, kept us ticking over in midfield. People have asked if he should keep Matic out vs. Arsenal, personally I'd like to see him form a midfield three with Matic and Oscar - it'll be a hugely surprising decision by Mourinho to play him in such a big game though.

I've said that for a couple of weeks. Rlc, Matic and Oscar is the most balanced trio we've got at that position. It has drive from RLC, Matic's power and Oscar's creativity.

Everyone agrees a good performance in nothing more than a competitive training run. I thought the two full backs gave us more balance and pace and I will be very surprised if they do not start Saturday. Possibly going against the crowd but Zouma bothers me a bit and with the two full backs in place I would plump for Terry and Cahill in the middle. I worry about Fabregas when we have to dog it out and with Loftus-Cheek playing with so much fire I would link him with Matic and definitely Oscar. You can perm any three upfront as I do not think we are firing regardless of last night and Hazard looks disinterested half the time.
