A question for the ed's or posters
with this impending ban looming do you think sarri is the man to lead the team next season working with what he has and maybe a few more youngsters to replace a few of the fringe players?
If not who would you go for that's attainable or a good fit?

No I know that Ed it was more do you think he’s the right man for the job if we do get a ban and has to work and develop within that’s all I was asking mate
I don’t know if he had much input at Napoli on transfers or the team he initially inherited.

I'm 50/ 50 about it. If our ban isn't frozen we still can't keep a lot of these players around. I fear if Sarri stayed he'd still stick with this group bar maybe 1 or two changes. We'd need someone who can get the best out of the group he has, Sarri's trying to implement a style of football that needs investment and time. If we could spend i'd say give Sarri the players he wants and get rid of the deadwood. If we can't and we haven't got CL football, bring someone in who can get the best out of this group but will involve the likes of CHO, Reece, Christensen and Ruben.

Good post LB90. Let's hope the ban is lifted for the next window and sarri can bring in his own players. However if the ban is not lifted, then u can't blame sarri if he cannot bring in the players for his system, due to a mistake or mis understanding of the situation by the hierarchy .

Disagree Matt. I don’t think we have been boring. We bossed the game totally in the first half and should have scored three or four.

I agree Everton are average but if you don’t punish teams when you are top you generally pay the consequences!

Agree, it’s just how predictable we are, thought Sarri has turned a corner a bit but now back to this, Alonso is so slow and can not get up and down pitch near enough, Pedro is so the egos or terrible, no in between,

Great save Kepa no one following up crap defending Alonso he’s been terrible today goal came down his side now cost us a penalty I know Sarri doesn’t have a great choice at lb but Emerson had been improving after a run of consecutive games.

To be fair, I think Barkley played decently today. That being said, I don't think he brought anything that RLC wouldn't have brought.
Overall what a rubbishty perfomance, once again against a team that sits deep. We really don't know how to take our chances or deal with pressure. Hope Sarri sorts it out soon.
Europe League has got to be our hope now.

The second half we have been SOFT as usual.

Alonso has had a poor second half along with Pedro who has been anonymous!

I’m fed up with saying “we didn’t deserve to lose” but it has one if those games again.

I fully expect pundits, papers and posters to start the chorus of Sarri out.

The frustrating thing is Cho and Ruben were both very good midweek so why not start them Tom b
Alonso was great at wing back but he’s not good enough for full back simple so with a transfer ban looming I’d be tempted to give Aina a shot at lb.

Come on Tom, we had a good 8 min in first half then it went back to sideways passes and overplaying, create so little, another weekend ruined by the football. We had huge chance to go to 3rd and with two games we’ve removed any hope of 4th not because of the points gap as it’s only 3 points but because we will keep slipping up. I’ve been supportive of Sarri but it’s one step forward and two back, Torn apart at times by this Everton side, who were ripped apart by Newcastle less than a week ago. Everton not beat top 6 side in 2 years. comfortable 85min for them, Sarri will be replaced and now I’m ok about it. Bournemouth Watford wolves x2 Everton x2, scrape past Fulham, we play with zero energy, no zip, and no cutting edge.

Danny, I think Aina has all but been sold mate.

Reece James will be IMO the first choice right back next season.

I don’t expect anything to change for the remainder of this season.

I will remain optimistic but I am bored with the team selection and generally the substitutions.

I want Odoi, RLC, Christensen and Emerson to start the remaining league games but I’m not confident it will happen.

No I completely agree if we can all see this why can’t sarri it’s so obvious those 4 are better than what we’ve got all that’s going to happen is us loosing all 4 over playing time.

That’s my point Matt. Give the four of them more league minutes for the remaining league fixtures and we will then see if they are ready to start the final, if we get to it.

That I don’t agree with Matt if you’re only playing certain players cup games you should stick with them throughout imo if we win doing that he’ll be lauded if we loose he’ll be slated can’t really win tbf mate.

I agree Tom I thought we should be a couple up but it’s when we don’t take them we need to be more resolute and I don’t think Alonso gives us that but not just him tbf but 2 weeks off now to reflect and try and regroup for the big push until the end of the season it’s going to be a very interesting summer if the ban doesn’t get lifted
Do you think Sarri is the man to take us into next season developing what we’ve got in regards to younger players if we can’t buy anyone?

Every player has had a good first half but we haven't got the goal our play deserves.

Usually when a team dominates so much but doesn't score it lives to regret it. Let's hope it doesn't happen today!
