bluekaz {Ed018's Note - this should go well}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Curt popped up some day during the last window. I don't see how those were the good old days, as all it accomplished was getting the regulars to stop posting.

Would any of you have Lewandowski?

I think in my opinion, I would have him in a heartbeat. The lad is absolute class, and the way that Dortmund play, is similiar to ours, and the players that support Lewandowski are similiar to ours that support Torres. So he would fit in, and his tall and quick so him can hold the ball up, and get past players.

I think the lad is class?

Any thoughts?

PR!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I think everyone would have him, unfortunately I can't see him coming. You're very right about the players around him too, with one exception. I think Marco Reus could possibly be the best young player in the world (barring Messi). Every time I watch him he seems to be the best player on the pitch. Dortmund have a cracking team and have got to their outcome properly, by gradually bringing kids through and giving them a chance, plus they've bought very well! But to sum it up, Lewandowski would be great, but if it is possible, Falcao has to be bought!

Chelsea Nick

Agree4 Disagree0

Whats better?
bender gundogan
blaczikowski gotze reus
lewandowski

or our midfield and attack

Agree0 Disagree2

I agree on the Reus point Nick. He is absolute class, I would absolutely love him to come to Chelsea, I doubt he would though. Also, they have an excellent football philosophy, which has excelled the team in recent years.

PR!

Agree1 Disagree0

If that's an honest question, I'd have to say Dortmund's midfield is better. Only because they have spent longer together, so have an unbelievable understanding of eachothers games.

Melbourne CFC

Agree4 Disagree0

Gotze, Reus, Lewandowski are world class. Gundogan is probably better than anyone we have in that position.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with Melbourne, they have a much better understanding within the two holding midfielders, and they have had a longer period of playing together.

PR!

Agree1 Disagree0

Love this Dortmund team! Seems a fantastically well run club from boardroom, to the coaches office to the players on the pitch - well oiled machine!

Surewould

Agree2 Disagree0

Reus is world class but he only just moved to Dortmund this last window so I don't see him moving for a year at least, not to mention we have more than enough players in that our front 3. Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Moses, Marin, Piazon and de Bruyne can play there. All of them are under 24, so whilst I would love him at Chelsea I don't see it happening.

Having watched the Stoke v Everton highlights it seemed to me that Marouane Fellaini was determined to get himself sent off for violent conduct yet somehow the officals missed the three incidents that would have resulted in a 3 game ban.
Following the game, and before the FA charge the player then in effect pleads guilty making it a certainty that he will be charged and get a 3 game ban. Which is exactley what happens.
Now I know 2+2 equals 4 but how odd that he now has a 3 game ban and that means he misses the game against us.
All that and his manager hung him out to dry almost as if he doesnt need to show him any more loyalty

Thought anyone ?

i have never really liked torres and i really think he shud leave and we should NOT sign falcao i mean sure he is good but 40 mil on another player is just senseless

Believable3 Unbelievable4

As i said before, what does it matter to you what he costs,he slaughtered us and will most of the premier league defences, and win us something probably,so if the club see fit to buy him ,enjoy !!!!
ktbffh

Agree4 Disagree1

Not if hes worth it...

Jordan

Agree3 Disagree0

Just saying but didn't Torres use to slaughter us when he was at loserpool. And then he came to us and fired blanks. I do agree that it isn't my money but paying big bucks for the top strikers in the world hasn't worked out twice now. Third time lucky perhaps?!

ELI

Agree0 Disagree2

£25 million for drogba worked out ok,was that top dollar back then, look at the start he had, plus is falcao at his peak yet, sheva and torres were both past theirs.
ktbffh

Agree4 Disagree0

When torres came to us he had been out of form for the past year. Falcao is bang in form now and is currently at his peak

Jordan

Agree3 Disagree0

Falcao is class end of story. It would be a dream for him to come to Chelsea!

PR!

Agree1 Disagree0

If we are talking about players being worth their price, would you say the geezer was worth £23 million.
ktbffh

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all, Drogba wasn't a huge star before us so I wouldn't count him. If this isn't Falcao's peak then I don't know what would be. Let's be honest we all want the best striker and don't mind saying splash the cash Roman just cause its not your money? Like spoilt kids that want the newset toys in the market. I'm not saying I don't want Falcao and/or I'm not saying he's not the best striker now. Its just any thing can happen like it did for the previous two and no one saw it coming is all. Let's hope and pray we get him but if we don't it could be a blessing in disguise just saying fellas.

ELI

Agree0 Disagree0

Not actually convinced we are going to get him anyway ELI with the ownership issues ,hulk all over again,
absolute bummer we have had two of the best strikers in the world play for chelsea, and both been a let down, like you say third time lucky whoever it is,or both as ed said two strikers.

Having watched the two games in the CWC what disappointed me is the decision making of Rafa more than anything. In the first game Oscar, Mikel and Luiz, played well, the team felt balanced but threatening with Luiz particularly impressing.

The final comes around and despite a confident performance in the semi Rafa implements big changes, the two midfielders dropped from those positions with Luiz dropping back to CB, Oscar replaced with Moses which leads to a change in shape and dynamic. Azpilicueta who was not at his best in the semi was dropped, even though he has been playing well in recent games and offers a much more potent threat from wide. In my opinion he is the best crosser in the team with the likes of Moses and Ivanovic wasteful from wide positions.
The result of these changes was that the midfield duo of Ramires and Lampard struggled, they are simply not suited to playing together, both play better with a solid defensive midfielder next to them, ie Mikel, which frees them up to attack, play the ball and make runs.

Up front Moses was wasteful, he rarely beat his man and his crosses were poorly timed and poorly delivered, he had one good effort but really that was the only positive input. His presence, in my opinion, unbalances the team, when Oscar starts he moves around the park and seeks the ball, linking the play from deep while also providing a threat up front. Moses is far more limited, and simply does not have the ability to link up play. A player like Moses can only be considered effective if he can deliver crosses, dangerous runs or a goal threat which he does not do regularly enough.

Aside from the starting line up substitutions were also baffling, Oscar came on but to late in my opinion, Azpilicueta came on as a straight swap rather than the more obvious tactical swap to push Luiz into midfield (an area we could not control) and Marin came on for Hazard, a player who was having a decent game, as opposed to Mata who was struggling to find space, and only made a minor impact in the second half. Only the addition of Oscar made any meaningful change to the tactics, which were not working, and the additions of Cesar and Marin were too late and changed little

My overall impression of Rafa thus far is not wholly negative, but I am concerned that he shifts things with little regard to recent form and the impact players have on the game. Mikel has been in the shadows despite being the perfect foil for the likes of Lamps, Ramires and possibly Luiz. Moses seems to be preferred to Oscar although Oscar is not at his best as an impact sub whereas Moses is.
Shuffling players is important for fitness reasons but seemingly arbitrary changes help know one.

Great post and agree with everything you say!

Team for Leeds

Turnball
Azpili, Ake, Ivan, Bertrand
Oscar, Luiz
MARIN, Hazard, Piazon
Feruz

I know it's not guna happen but would love to see this in action!

Ive put Ake in cos we have no other CB as cahill & terry are out and i dont want to see Luiz playing there anymore! And FFS play FERUZ! I swear down now he can be no WORSE than Torres is! Owen & Rooney both 16/17 when they made there debuts. Give the guy a chance! DJ

Agree4 Disagree5

Indeed it baffled me too when i saw the line up, it was crazy to make such a big gamble in a freaking FINAL with playing with no defensive midfielder and playing Lampard who just came out from an injury aswell as Moses who played horrible and yet was on for 70min.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of twaddle ,when rdm played same team all the time you lot moaned, just cant win

Agree2 Disagree0

DJ why is Cahill out? Doesn't his red card only relate to FIFA games, not domestic. {Ed002's Note - Apparantly not.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Strange. I would have expected that if anything the red card would of translated to a ban in European competition due to the fact that we were in the CWC as Champions of Europe.

Lampard needs a new contract! He was the only midfielder that played well, yes he is the wrong end of 30 but scholes is aswell and look where man u was with out him? Lampard can pass the ball he can score goals! As we all know and he's been with the club 11 years. He's been loyal to the club through thick and thin it's time the club showed him more respect

Believable2 Unbelievable14

More respect then the current contract he pulls in? More respect then the armband he has the privilege of wearing any time JT is out? More respect then being a CL, FA Cup, PL, League Cup and Community Shield winner? No player is bigger than the club, and although Frank is one of the all time bests of the club, his time is coming to an end, and I would much prefer him to leave on top, then have all the fickle 'supporters' on here to start slating him.

He brought me one of my greatest memories with those goals at Bolton, and has brought me many others, but it is time he stepped aside and let the next generation make their mark.

Melbourne CFC

Agree5 Disagree3

Lampard did not play well (he was alright in the first half buut shocking in the second). Hazard played well throughout and was our second best player behind Luiz. Oscar Azpil.... and Marin all played well but werent on long enough to have an impact.
Tactically was RBs worst game but I wont have a go at him as tactics werent the only thing that lost that game. Half the team showed no desire.

Sev

Agree2 Disagree1

He didnt play very good and i could see alot better options than him on the bench, there was a reason why we lost and he was one of them.

Agree1 Disagree1

Must agree with the majority here, he did not look great. The combination of him and Ramires suited neither player and they both struggled.
Lamps has just returned from injury but for me the early signs are that he simply does not have the mobility or physical presence needed to play the role that is required. Mikel and Ramires is a better pairing for me, and Luiz could be brilliant in there as well.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm sorry I completely disagree. I love lampard and everything he's done for the club but if we give him a new contract it's based on the name on his shirt and not his play on the pitch. Both josh and de bruyne are coming through soon and I can't imagine lamps will ask for money on par with his role at the club.

Tk

Agree2 Disagree0

Lampard is getting 3 times the money rest of the people playing that position are, and they are all better players than him atm. Why would we give him new contract when he shouldnt even be on the bench cause if it was any other player playing like him he wouldnt even get in the squad, look at Marin he is alot better than Lampard and is not getting any play time at all...

First post in ages due to imposters using my name! But i really dont see any need to panic about the current team like people are. Everyone seems to be forgetting how young the team is. Aston Villa have a young team, it gets mentioned by pundits and on MOTD etc on a regular basis. yeah we're Chelsea and not Villa but it still shouldnt be overlooked. Surely with our team been young and in transition we should cut our players and managers a bit of slack?

Seriously what were everyones expectations winning 7 trophies in a year? We we're all crying out for a younger team a few years ago, now we have it we are not prepared to give it any time to gel and grow. Its ridiculous. Everyone needs to take a step back and get a little perspective. We need a striker, a good experienced central midfielder and some patience!

THE REAL SHED END

Believable9 Unbelievable2

One of the best posts I've seen in a very long time.

IB.

Agree3 Disagree5

Shed end , what a post

Please , stay back and keep on posting

Billy

Agree1 Disagree6

Is this the same SHED END that told me to get to the bookies when Hazard signed? Finally someone is putting things back into perspective. The only downside of having these world class young players, is that currently they are learning how not to win big games. In my opinion that is an extreme negative in the long run. The reason United has been able to sustain success for such a long period, is because they know how to win. From when they get signed to sign they retire, the winning mentality is embedded in them.

It was something our last 'spine' of a team all relished. Being up against it and coming out on top. As a team. If we can get these youngsters pushing for 90 minutes, scraping for every 50/50 ball, and believing they can always pull it out, I have no doubt we will become the best team in Europe. The only way they can gain that believe and understanding is through time together, and as SHED put it, patience.

Lovely to see you back mate, just in time for the January silly season on here

Melbourne CFC

Well said!

Wheelycfc

Agree0 Disagree4

B*******... The team is not very young, you are aware the avg age of the team is 26~ when playing the best line up possible yes?:)
And IF the team had a low avg age it dosent mean it should suck, look at dortmund they got the title 2 years in a row with a extreamly young team and they even won over Madrid and walked over ManC.
The biggest problem is that we have a very useless forward and 2 players in the pivot that dosent fit into the team, using the age of 2-3 people is a lame excuess....

So Torres is alot better than Lukaku cause he is older? no hell, no but thats your words not mine The real shed end.... Maybe we should dump Mata for Malouda too, well since he is older you know..

Agree2 Disagree7

He's saying not just cos there young but it's a newly formed side we have, need time to grow n get used to each other doesn't come over night!
Dortmund have had the same group of players for a while now!

Wheelycfc

Agree5 Disagree3

Amen. Among our regular starters, 6 are 25 years of age or younger. Keep in mind united have maybe 3 depending on who you go by and city have 3 or 4 depending on who you go by. Another thing is we have a bunch of people that don't play that are throwing off that average (hilario, Ferreira, and malouda) and within one years time a few more will be gone (cole, lamps, and potentially terry and Cech). Bottom line this is a very young team and we have a lot to be excited about.

I think maybe us fans are also to blame for our performances this year, i hate to say it but last year we should've gone and got a manager for the long term and di matteo brought back as assistant manager. But by winning the champions league roman had no choice but to give rdm the manager's position for fear of the rage from us fans if he didn't. Tons of respect for rdm but he just isn't ready or will he ever be ready for the manager's position at chelsea. I for one look at this season as an opportunity for the club to assess all aspects from personnel, tactics, management, etc and roman needs to understand that. I'm no fan of rafa and will never be one but if by early summer the club can't recruit a quality manager for the long term then roman and us fans must back rafa and support him in the long run. I had high hopes for us this season with all the cups up for grabs but its fair to say that we blew those opportunities away. For all you fans feeling frustrated I don't blame you, if you weren't frustrated then you wouldnt be chelsea fans. Just keep your heads held high, it's a tough time being a chelsea fan with all the abuse hurled at us but we all know the club, the management and all the fans are better than that. And im positive the next few years we can dominate England, Europe and the World.
HEADS UP BOYS!
