Ed is Ramires banned tomorrow?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed008's Note - Yes last game from the 4 match ban received from last season.

I'm really curious to what the line up is going to be tomorrow. Some players aren't yet fully fit, Ramires is suspended. And we don't know if Jose is going to start the new guys immediately. SO buzzed for the game!!

Cheers mate. Mourinho said he will field his fittest XI tomorrow so I wouldn't expect to see Oscar or Schurrle start although Willian might do seen as he never played much during the WC. I'm hoping he goes with Courtois but I wouldn't like to begin it knowing Jose. My back four would be Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry and Felipe Luis but I think we may see the same back four as last year because he might give Luis more time to settle. I'm going to go for a midfield three off Van Ginkel, Matic and Fabregas (possibly no.10 unless we switch to 4-3-3) with Ramires banned and Oscar played a lot during the summer. I'd expect him to go with Salah, Costa and Hazard up top until either Willian or Schurrle are fit to replace Salah. If Van Ginkel does start and play well I think you may see Oscar struggle to get back into the team? What would your XI be ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc next to matic, ivanovic instead of Felipe Luis ( for now) and behind costa I think Oscar shurrle salah, would like hazard and willain but dunno how fit

The most over-used phrase on this site is "Oscar has played a lot of football', ffs that was 2 years ago during the summer olympics. Last season he probably played less minutes for us than Hazard, Terry, Cahill, Rami, Lamps, Ceasar, Ivan and Willian. Yes, he played for his country but so did every other intl player.
I see it too that Oscar seems to have taken a step back, from his first season with us, with regards to his his consistency with first touch, ball control and accuracy of passing. He also seems to want to try for his shot more, but i'm not privy to what JM has been telling him. But he's actually gotten better in his work rate and overall defensive ability since he came to Chelsea. To suggest that Van Ginkel may keep him out of the team you must be blind mate, I like MVG and want to see him thrive a Chelsea but imo he is not ready for regular first team football for us.

Blind are you mad? What I was suggesting was is that if Oscar continues his poor run he might get replaced! Lemon

{Ed008's Note - I expect Mourinho to have his team lined up very similar to last seasons team..

Courtois
Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta
Fabregas Matic Oscar
Willian Costa Hazard

Ed002, hope you are having a brilliant day :), just wondering when abouts the date will be when you return, it may get on your nerves of us repeatedly asking you to return, but we really mean it, you are largely appreciated and hopefully you know that.

PS - West is and was the best batman there was ;)

U're being unfair to the Chelsea fans, Ed002. I know I can't stand them too but @ least u support Chelsea. Surely they can't be the worst bunch out there? They are still humble and nice persons here like your very self, Sir.

After deadline then, no more help on transfers, thanks for everything man, we understand.

Ed018 hope you can continue to help as you are doing brilliantly!

Good luck to victor Moses at stoke, I really like him, seems like got good attitude

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would've made sense to keep him and loan out Salah. Never mind, all the best to Moses. Legend for that air kick at palace last season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Salah is a lot better than Moses. Offers far more really.

Don't know if anyone else saw this, but Joao Rodriguez actually had an impressive debut for Bastia against PSG. Bastia lost the game, but Rodriguez came on for a good 20 minutes or so and showed some flashes of serious talent. He's small but very skillful. Perhaps chelsea's got the best Colombian Rodriguez after all ;-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wow scratch the part about him being small. He's actually 1m80 tall. Not bad at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the post Jack, would keep an eye on him, really hope Jose uses some of our young lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

My pleasure, I love watching the younger ones play and show their stuff. If you want to see his highlights, you can go to WAGNH, they've got a short clip there :)

With the interest in Oscar from PSG and the interest in Rabiot from Chelsea their could be a potential deal possible in January.

The reason I say wait till January is to see if this dip in form from Oscar is a lack of size and athleticism to play in a Mourinho styled team or just a player who has been run down by a hell of a lot of football in the last 2 years.

I personally think he is very talented but better suited to a La Liga or Seria A type of football due to his size and physical limitations and the slower nature of these leagues.

We can replace him with someone who I've been singing the praises of for 3 years now, Ross Barkley. let's see that he returns from his injury first but he is the Mourinho style of player we lack in our attacking 3 barring Schurrle. Big, strong, Pace, Physically gifted and technically very good. He is HG, English and young still.

£45m for Oscar are the figures I've read.
£35m for Barkley would secure his services.
We would also then have another £10m to get Rabiot who would have 6 months left on his contract and who could play 3rd choice CM behind Cesc and Matic.

Barkley would also provide cover and depth at CM as I see him as a versatile player such as Draxler of Schalke who can play a variety of positions.

We all have our ideas and hopes. If we don't get Pogba this wouldn't be a bad alternative.

:)

The problem with that plan is that Rabiot will have gone to another club in all likelihood by the time we get to January. With only a year left on his contract and a couple of teams interested, he will probably move on this month. So then we'll have missed our chance of getting him.

It's a shame Barkley's injured again. Such a talented boy. I don't want to see Oscar go, but if we can replace him with Reus or Barkley (if he returns from injury without showing signs of slowing down) I'd do it. Especially Barkley, since he's homegrown. It'd do our team good to have some more English players.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way everton would sell Barkley for £35mill - but I agree we should do everything in our power to ensure that he joins us when he leaves everton - the Lukaku sale should help.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm all down for Barkley, but cry me what is everyone's beef with Oscar, I don't get it, yeah he faded after January but how many players his age can go a full season on top form. I really don't get all the negativity on him, think he and Barkley could be in our team, I would much rather we let William and Salah go before considering selling Oscar. He is going to be a great player and should only be sold if we get atleast the figure you state and then is hope we go for Pogba the next Sumner Barkley.

P.S if Oscar was playing at some other team we would all want the club to go for him, and you know it.
