Just throwing this out there, not speculating. But imagine we reved off Moses and signed Hernandez and hulk instead. We would be banging in goals left right and centre. About 0% chance of this happening, but saw we enquired about him and got me thinking.
Dan73

Believable2 Unbelievable2

A lot of the appeal with Moses is that he is homegrown.

FFS what's with all this negativity, the season hasn't even started yet.we have a good team,we have good depth and plenty of skill and creativity with our new additions.even if we don't make more signings i personally think we have a squad capable of competing for silverware on all fronts.get behind your team, even mikel (who i think is too slow for our style of play) whenever he starts we still should support him.
Cmon lads, have faith in all our boys

aL

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Good post mate, i reckon with our current squad 3rd place should be comfortable but with a right back and a top forward type of player e.g Hulk/Cavani we will have the quality to launch a title charge.

ShedLower

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree. i think that saying we will win everything there is may be a bit much of an ask for a team with so many new players. i think we will def be in with a shout for the prem title. all in all i wouldnt be mad at 2nd or 3rd for the season. everything needs time to gel with the new signings. after that happens i think we could be a nightmare for everyone.

Will we be worth watching this year or will it be boring park the bus football again. Not sure whether to keep sky sports.

Pinky

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Being a supporter is alot more than seeing top football and winning every week. A true supporter is a club thats in your blood and no matter how crap your team is, you just cant help but watch week in week out.
Unfortunately the new glory boy type of fan we now have are embarassing to the club

Agree9 Disagree1

Spot on there unamed i go to or atleast watch every game possible

my betting is that post isnt the real pinky well thats atleast what he will claim anyway

curt

Agree2 Disagree1

Yeah I have to watch every game possible, wether at the bridge, tv or Internet and then motd lol. It does get very boring and predictable though when we park the bus. BLUEBOY1

Agree3 Disagree0

I dont have Sky sports, however I always watch MOTD, highlights on the computer and during the game am checking the score constant, I do all i can to watch as much as i can on Chelsea games

JMJW

im true chelsea fan but to say the truth. Chelsea isn't in good form. We have lost many dependible players and just signed. Look at man u, its unshaken but it signing up good players. If we don't take chelsea now, the chelsea will be disappoint this season and don't blame the coach. Blue 4 life

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Don't blame the coach? If he can't get our new signings playing well he's not the man for the job

Agree6 Disagree1

By dependible players do you mean drogba ?? thats one player we would of beat city if we had 11 men on the field

true what they say theres a difference between a fan and a supporter

curt

Agree6 Disagree6

Weve had a poor pre season and lost Community Shield with 10 men but no way should we be judging just yet, Under AVB last year we won all our pre season games without even letting in a goal and we all know how that turned out.
First 5 games will give us a idea if we are good enough or not

hi ed, simple question for you ( i hope) when you say that we might sign a DM or CM when one of interest comes available. The question is now the players like hazard and oscar or others were transferlisted, so not bound to a contract no more
? It dosent makes sense to me.. If chelsea know they need a player in that position money talks right?

Man Utd strikers;
v Persie, Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov

Man City strikers;
Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko

Chelsea strikers;
Torress, Sturidge

Further iterates the need for a another striker.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Career wise though the best striker is underneath where it says chelsea strikers; :D

curt

Agree3 Disagree3

Piazon can also play as a striker, though he is more of a CAM.

Rowan

Agree2 Disagree1

Piazon played there in pre season because we had no other options

Trueblue012

Agree3 Disagree0

The chelsea site lists him as a striker, but i guess the guy who disagreed knows better. Both those clubs also play with two strikers, we play one. We definitely need more cover though.

Rowan

Agree2 Disagree0

Utd don't play with two strikers. They play 4411 or 433

Agree1 Disagree0

Everyone moaned sturridge was brilliant and needs a chance. Well at least he can now! Do u lot really think chelsea don't know it? Jez we been trying all transfer window. Can't beat a bit of deadline day drama any how's. BLUEBOY1

I come on this site almost dailey to check up rumours outrageous gossip, but I've found that a lot of you have become very fickle and it annoys me, Mikel is a Chelsea Player and to me that means we stand by him, he was fantastic for us end of last season so give him chance. Also how long will it take you to start slatting Torres if he doesn't score against Wigan on Sunday,
One Bomb Tom

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Trueblue012

O yeah seen one bomb Tom and kenny on here loads over the last year or two. People are allowed to discuss problems with certain players, and it's a banter page, everyone entitled to their opinions! I'm as loyal as loyal can be. But if a player gets no better over seven years it starts getting quite annoying since its going to be that position that lets us down this season! BLUEBOY1

Oscar is not a deep lying midfielder but rather a attacking one. If chelsea are playing either ramires or lampard they would need essien as a ball winner to sit infront of the defence

Agree2 Disagree0

carPetman01

Agree0 Disagree0

Has no one noticed how far back Oscar goes to start play their is no reason we he can't play central midfield, especially since when ever ganso or moura come on for brazil that's where Oscar plays. BLUEBOY1

Mata comes deep to get the ball, so does messi. U can't use that as a reason to play him deep lying midfielder. MB

Really can't see Hernandez leaving Utd! Rooney will start behind RVP with Welbeck and Hernandez backing up - Berbatov will be off!

Surewould

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Kagawa....?

Agree2 Disagree3

Kagawa is not a striker

he means rooney will play as a centre forward behind persie and persie the out an out striker then kagawa will be in midfield

curt

Agree0 Disagree3

Kagawa plays cf behind the striker or on the wings. He certainly ain't a cm! MB

Agree4 Disagree1

I didnt say he was a centre mid did i ........... i said he plays in midfield more attacking midfield thats not centre forward

curt

Agree0 Disagree1

So basically what u r trying to say is he won't play...? MB

Agree0 Disagree1

Well he doesn't, he plays CF.

Agree0 Disagree1

Kagawa will share time with Young, Valencia and Nani but will also cover Rooney in the middle!
The point was Chelsa, nor anyone else will sign Hernandez, now I'd rather talk Chelsea than Man Utd!

just cant see us landing a striker! so annoying when we get linked to players it always drags on well apart from oscar and marin! just bloody sign cavani or hulk

kevinCFC

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Calm down mate. Look at how long RVP has dragged his heels for. One of Cavani, Falcao or Hulk is almost certainly going to sign. I give that to you on good authority.
CFCFOREVER!

Agree5 Disagree0

Totally agree just sign a striker why do we mess about so much with transfers

Agree0 Disagree2

You were worried yesterday Kevin.. Chill a little, take a breath, now relax, the club know what they're doing... After sept 1st worry but not now.
Marley

Agree3 Disagree0

Haha thanks lads! Just worried bout having just 2 strikers going into a new season!

CFCFOREVER who do u think we get out them 3

KevinCFC

Agree2 Disagree0

I understand your worry kevin lets hope we do get a striker id be happy with either one of those 3

the no named post its not as easy as 'just sign a striker' were hardly messing about we are trying to negotiate deals

if you owned chelsea we would probably be in portsmouths financial situation because you would just be like oh sod it ill give you 800 mill for cavani

curt

Agree1 Disagree1

How can you say this curt when both yourselves and citeh do exactly that with inflated transfer prices and wages funny very very funny

derbyshire dave

Agree0 Disagree1

Dave i dont think you understand we have the money to do it

if you knew anything you would know were not willing to pay stupid prices for players

i said if he was in charge of chelsea then he would pay stupid amounts and we would end up like portsmouth

why are you even on a premier league teams page ? go back to the championship

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Im talking about now not like 2 years ago

even the eds will ell you we wont be held to ransom

curt

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmmmmmmm their not doing (eds agreeing i mean) and you think paying all that money for two very young inexperienced players is value for money (oscar and hazard) only at chelsea mate only at chelsea oh and citeh and of course liverpool

Agree0 Disagree1

Kevin as I understand, interest is genuine in all 3. I expect Hulk over Cavani over Falcao personally but anything could happen.
Did anyone think we would sign Torres before Deadline Day?

My predictions for the rest of the transfer window :

Moses: to be completed in the next week.
Azpilicueta: to be completed in the next week.
Cavani/Falcao/Hernandez: deadline day big money deal.

Out: Meireles
Kakuta

Thoughts?
MB

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Where are u getting this henandez transfer from! Can't see that happening at all

KevinCFC

Agree0 Disagree3

The fact that they have Rooney, Rvp, Welbeck, Berbatov and Hernandez competing for one striker spot....

Agree2 Disagree0

The fact that berbatov is probably leaving for a start and if anything fergie will sell hernandez to arsenal if hes even willing to sell him

totally agree kevin wish people would stop going on about hernandez

curt

Agree0 Disagree3

Add Benayoun to the out-list, and maybe malouda too.

curt and Kevin are right, Hernandez has just come from nowhere just because they have RVP. We won't be getting him.

The rest are feasible I guess, although Hulk more likely than Falcao. Still wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with a completely different striker though, remember Meireles last year?

Roweycfc

Im going for a 4-1 victory for us

Goals from:
Torres 2
Hazard
Lampard/ ramires

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I reckon 2-0 win
Torres and Ivanovic to score

Agree1 Disagree0

I like the optimism, but 2-1 win for us would do for me. I just can't see us keeping a clean sheet just yet. And I remember 1 or 2 tight games up there..
Marley

Agree1 Disagree0

1-0 win, hernan crespo last minute....

Blue John

Agree5 Disagree1

Im not bothered as long as we win :D

if moses signs today and can play sunday im going for a victor moses winner :D

curt

Agree1 Disagree1

Not going to be cocky, Wigan were a good side towards the end of last season and we always make hard work of teams like them. Ideally we should win, maybe 2-1. But if nothing has changed interms of performances like in the pre-season games and the shield I can see is struggling. When Oscar and Marin get in the squad its going to be exciting, just wish we had a RB and CF already to start the season with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know about you mate but i thought we played pretty well against city only got opened up a little bit when we were down to 10 men before that we didnt look like conceding

curt

All transfers made after 12pm today won't be eligible to play this weekend, it'll be next week sometime before we get anyone anyway

What odds on Moses signing ten minutes after the deadline to register the squad for the Wigan game? {Ed002's Note - I think you are perhaps struggling to come to terms with when transfers can be processed.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

So you dont believe the delay is to avoid moses facing wigan on sunday... {Ed002's Note - No.}

Agree0 Disagree1

There could easily be a clause inserted into moses to say he is ineligeble for that 1 game {Ed002's Note - No, that is not possible.}

Agree0 Disagree2

Am i right in saying the only way wigan could say moses cant play for us against them is if we took him on loan and didnt actually buy him ??

You mentioned last week someone within Chelsea were dragging their feet over the transfer and as we've not met Wigans valuation do you see him starting on Sunday. I would love to see butland be cech understudy as courtois is smashing it in Spain with butland a proven English goalkeeper and has to be a better option if cech gets injured than 65 year old hilareo and chocolate wrist turnbull and let courtois.butland scrap it out to be Chelsea long term no1 and no2

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Butland deserves to be playing week in week out, I doubt he'd be happy to sit on the bench

Bad idea mate, we have Jamal Blackman and Sam Walker, aswell as Matej Delac and Mitchell Beeney coming through....

Agree0 Disagree0

See how Butland progresses now; he might be a homegrown option for when Cech decides to call it a day. I don't normally like the De Gea/Lindergaard situation though, with keepers rotating.

LJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Difference between cech/butland rotating and de gea/lindengarrd rotating is that cech and butland are actually good keepers

Ed,

How long do you foresee Chelsea playing the waiting game for Hulk or Cavani sides to give in a bit. I see it being said it could go all the way to final day of transfer window but that would leave us no time to react for another striker. Do you know of any set deadline? Surely the plan can't be wait till the bitter end and risk going through till January with 1.5 strikers!! {Ed002's Note - It is not possible to answe questions about timings with any confidence.}

Ed, any chance of us buying The Emirates? It appears Arsenal are selling off most their assets.

North London would be a bit out the way for me though.

Do you think the noise could be a sticking point with the local counsel as the neighbours are used to peace and quiet?

Lastly, do they have a trophy cabinet or would we need to build one?

seems everyone want to have eigther hulk or cavani, but i guess both will stay with thier respective clubs rather than joining us.
the main reason is the price tag and wage demands.
cant see chelsea spending 40m for hulk or 35m for cavani plus paying weekly wages of 150k.
apart from cesar azplicueta and victor moses we do not know if we wll sign any new striker or not.
i guess hulk/schurle deal will be more likely than cavani. as RDM want to bring back-up to torres not the replacement for torres. as both hulk n schurle can play on wings more comfortably than cavani.

It's quite clear that the boards 'wish list' is down to four. Expect Moses and Azpilicueta to sign as soon as the price is agreed between Chelsea and the players' respective current clubs. These have every chance of lasting up to, and possibly including, deadline day.

Efforts are being made with Cavani and Hulk as we know. Neither are linked - Chelsea have their valuation of the players and will not bow to Napoli or Porto's exaggerated estimations of each respective player. In laymans terms (and as above) if both parties reach an agreement, expect a transfer.

Nobody is interested in transfer fees unless you are a club administrator or Roman Abramovich. Neither of which i expect any of you are.

tomorrow is that last day of which squads can be registered for the opening day of the season, this can be changed afterwards until august 30th. with moses and cesar being hyped to join imminently, surely tomorrow is the last day unless the won`t play any part on sunday? would be good to see somebody on there debut also, oscar/marin maybe? big expectations of torres this year, i think last year when torres lacked confidence, hernandez would have been perfect for him...just as he was away to shoot he passed it, chicarito would have been there! with rvp welbeck rooney all at man utd, and hernandez in the last year of contract i wouldnt be surprised if we made a bid in january! until then we will be sticking with torres and i`d stongly bet on hulk to be a chelsea player very soon as moses and ramires are not good enough to start or out of position in RW if we want the league, nows the year to invest. if you get the time ed, could you list the rw players we are linked with..i have tried the search function.

Ed(s), appreciate all your work, input (and patience with the repetitive questioning). It looks like we'll have to grin and bear it for the next 2 weeks. Chances are we'll be glued to watching the excitable Jim White on Sky Sports News on Transfer Deadline Day.
