I've only recently started posting again recently but I was just wondering what everyone's ideas would be for the summer. I was just wondering what everyone's three main signings would be. I may be dreaming a bit but mine would be Bonucci, Vidal and Griezmann. Bonucci in my eyes would be Zouma's perfect partner an experienced ball playing central defender. Vidal is apparently open to a move to Chelsea according to Ed which is great news. Griezmann has also stated before that he would be open to moving to SW6. I'd like to see us revert to a 4-3-3 next year with Matic back in the middle as I think the system and someone next to him who can also tackle like Vidal/ Nainggolan will help him. I'm personally not Cescs biggest fan but a change of formation may help. I would like to see Aina given a go at RB with Azpi moving back to LB where he seems a lot more solid. I wouldn't mind seeing Icardi coming in to replace Remy either.

Griezmann would be my ideal signing. having a threat to compliment Costa would change our game, and help take the pressure off hazard if he does stick around. i'm not sure what is more pressing in defense, leadership or organization. Either way, I'm not sure a Marquinhos or Laporte would be ideal since i'd prefer someone who is accustomed to being the senior presence in the back line, making sure everyone's accountable. Chiellini maybe if we're dreaming. Finally I'd take alaba, let Dave go rb. I'd like to see baker/ rlc/ ake fight matic and mikel for time in midfield.

I will say that regardless of who leaves this team greatly lacks mobility and character. At the very least we need a box to box midfielder such as Vidal or Naingolan. Beyond that it depends on outgoing players and what system conte wants to play.

Agree0 Disagree1

Marquinos - he is young but is also experienced at the top level. I'm an advocate of Conte playing 3-5-2 next season and think his pace and calmness on the ball would be an asset in this system.

Vidal - our midfield lacks character and Vidal would bring that in an abundance.

Icardi - we need a striker who can genuinely challenge Costa; the loans we've brought in, and the likes of Remy, just don't seem capable. If Hazard leaves this changes to Griezmann.

18 Apr 2016 08:11:22
Chelsea must sign 2 CMs if not even 3. And minimum 2 strikers.
Other positions depend who leaves.

Bonucci, Griezmann and Vidal would be ideal in my opinion. All 3 fill a need. Apart from that I'd try to get Bazoer as well but loanees should be looked at to fill squad places.
I for one wouldn't go after Pjanic. I'd rather we get a high energy box to box (like Vidal) and then maybe integrate Colkett or Baker as an option to give Fabregas a rest and not lose creativity.

J. during his 11 years coaching career Antonio Conte was using 442 (4132,4222) and 343 (3412,3421-most recently) formations. 352 you're talking about is actually 343 (3412). He never used 451 (4231,4141,4321) as well as 433 (433 flat, 4312,4123).
So wherever he was he used two previously mentioned formations (442,343)& that means he will do the same as Chelsea manager.
Some players will leave the club either for money or CL football, but I expect that the core will stay.

Bonucci, Vidal and Griesmann would be fantastic but I don't think Bonucci is possible and there are 'issues' with signing Vidal. I think we should go all out to get Aubamerang before he goes to a rival (we should have bought him last summer! ) .

How bad are Arsenal? In a season as poor as this for us we will be back. our owner will see to that. Arsenal might not make top 4 either. How poor are they? And there fans thought they would walk it as well! Deluded! Hope Leicester do it now.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Bit unfair to say Arsenal fans thought we would walk it.
That was more paper talk than anything else.

Chelsea have been poor, as have City, Utd and Arsenal.

There are only 2 teams to come out of this season with any credit. Leicester and Spurs.

The rest? Average at best.

Would add Bournemouth to that list in terms of league as a whole! But title-wise agree Dags.

Purely for stability purposes, you could add Watford.

Oh, and West Ham, lol.

If you had a choice to buy a new CM and being realistic who would it be. I'm stuck between Nainggolan or Kante but I can't decide which one. I don't think Vidal is possible.

Why would Vidal leave a team as good as Bayern for us?

{Ed002's Note - Aturo Vidal is open to a summer move to Chelsea. His time in Germany has been difficult and Chelsea will seek certain assurances before any formal offer is made, as there are some issuettes that need to be addressed.}

Thats a tough one as I absolutely adore Kante but at the same time Vidal has been the best box to box mid in the world for the past couple seasons. Really happy for the club to be linked to all three of these guys as we desperately lack a player of that manner in the squad.

18 Apr 2016 07:45:51
There you go. That's why. Does one bad season make us a bad squad? We were champions last season. Yes the rest of the prem were bad but we still won it. Don't be surprised if we are bang there again next season. With or without a major shake up. Hopefully with a new manager coming in the players will want to forget this season and start a fresh. Too many people want to cast aside a league winning side. We had a bad pre-season. If the foundations are not laid properly at the start, all manner of things can go wrong and for us they did.

Have faith. Write this season off. And comeback next year with the fans full backing.

Up the Chels!

OneNightInMunich CFCAdam what we missing this season is a LEADER who can lead by example . Terry didn't play much and his performances were average . so he was not setting the best example . that for me was the missing link . SAF made a weak team win matches and even the PL . CAPTAIN . for me, that is an issue we need to address most this summer . we need our win at all costs character back . JM lost the players and the players lost the attitude to fight to the end.

As promised, the loans piece.
GK:
Matej Delac: Forgot the poor guy was still even here considering all his injuries but it is safe to say he is never going to be our level. Let him move on and hopefully make a career for himself despite his horrific injury luck.
Jamal Blackman: Again, a promising youngster but never really going to make the grade. Will probably end up leaving for a lesser European club, is currently on loan in Norway.
Mitch Beeney: Still quite young, send him out on loan for another year of football league experience at League one or two level.
RB:
Todd Kane: An excellent season in Holland, home grown and absolutely loves the club. Finally fulfilling his potential and warrants a squad place in my opinion, especially if Aina and Ivanovic both leave.
Wallace: Promising young offensive defender but suspect defensively. Probably time to move him on as he has just not fulfilled his promise.
Cristian Manea: Not sure if we own him or not, but still very young. Another European loan would probably do him good.
CB:
Tomas Kalas: The bane of Luis Suarez two seasons ago, but emergence of JCS, Zouma and signing of Miazga has probably ended his chances of a career with us. Shame because he is an excellent defender and will have a good career. If Middlesborough go up, maybe they will sign him permanently?
Andreas Christensen: Potentially controversial, but I think he should be loaned for another season. Let him play every game at BMG, and if they want to sign him, the asking price should be £40m plus. After all, Everton wanted that for Stones and AC is better.
Papy Djilibodji: Not going to get a chance. A really bizarre odd signing, utter waste of money. Hopefully we can sell to Werder or a Bundesliga club and recoup some cash back.
Kenneth Omeruo: Seems to have found his level in Turkey and seems quite settled there. Let him move on, and good luck with his career.
Michael Hector: An odd signing again. Had an okay season in a poor Reading side. A season out on loan in the EPL gives him the chance to prove he is good enough for us.
Alex Davey: Still very young and out on loan in Norway too. A football league loan might be a good chance for him to try and impress another English club, but not going to be good enough in my view.
LB:
Nathan Ake: A good season at Watford and has ousted the much more experience Holebas for the starting berth. We should keep him as he is a good player.
Cristian Cuevas: Not good enough and has not progressed, found his level in Holland also. Move him on.
CM/ CDM/ CAM
Marco Van Ginkel: Doing well since returning to Holland, but wasn't pulling up trees while on loan at Stoke and needs to move on for his sake. Perhaps we could include him a deal with Ajax for Bazoer?
Jordan Houghton: Young decent enforcer who has impressed for Plymouth. Try and loan him to a Championship side that will play him.
Lewis Baker: A set piece specialist, home grown player and very good technically. Should be in the squad next season.
Mario Pasalic: A very impressive young defensive midfielder, should displace Mikel this summer. Also has something of a goal threat about him.
Nathaniel Chalobah: Once a poster boy for England youth, still doing okay at Napoli who apparently want to sign him permanently. Let him stay in Naples and try and kick on his career.
Danilo Pantic: Vitesse situations suggests attitude problems potentially. Another year on loan somewhere that he will actually play and then re-assess.
Victorien Angban: Very talented young box to box player in the mould of Essien if he can sort out his temper. Gladbach may want him to replace Xhaka and they have so far proved to be a good place for our loanees.
Marko Marin: Oh dear Emenalo. Finally move him on please? German Messi is more like German Mikel.
LM/ RM/ RW/ LW
Victor Moses: Ultimately never good enough. Let him leave for a fee and try and get a starting berth elsewhere.
Jeremie Boga: A mixed season at Rennes but ultimately has impressed. Loan him to Spain or Germany next season and let him really shine.
Charly Musonda: He is on loan for 6 or 18 months depending where you read, but we should bring him back. Already looks class in La Liga at his young age and we need to build around people like him.
Izzy Brown: A mixed and frustrating season for someone with clear talent. An epl or championship loan would suit him better in my opinion.
Nathan: Has been injured and done nothing for Vitesse this year. Loan out somewhere where he has a starting berth but may be a fast fader.
Lucas Piazon: Lucas, lucas, lucas. A few years ago, you burst onto the scene against Villa and had a great loan in Holland. Subsequently you have struggled in Spain and Germany and confidence is gone, possibly due to the off the field issues (which are finally over) . I hope you move on and make a career out of your undoubted talent, but it just isn't going to work at Chelsea.
John Swift: Now reaching 21 and not good enough, but a decent player. Let him move on as plenty of Championship sides will be interested.
Juan Cuadrado: Possibly deserves another chance under Conte, but otherwise we should be looking to sell for a good fee as Juventus and Atletico now both have interest in him.
Christian Atsu: Injured often and never been good enough. Let him move on for the good of his career.
ST:
Patrick Bamford: Hoped he would make it, I really did. But just not shown enough so far. Let him move on and keep a buyback clause on him if he does regain his talent in front of goal.
Dom Solanke: Excellent young player who deserves a shot next season. After all, it worked for Rashford, and in my view Solanke is a more promising talent than him.
Joao Rodriguez: Who?! Let him move on as he isn't good enough.
Stipe Perica: An okay squad player at Udinese but doesn't score enough to warrant keeping. Let him move on for his career prospects.
Think that is everyone. Let me know your thoughts people. Potentially that is up to 18 sold.

Chalobah is an interesting one. He hasn't featured often for Napoli, almost always just 90 minutes on the bench. Yet there have still been reports about them wanting to keep him.
I'm guessing he'd feature a lot more if he wasn't just on loan, but actually their player. He's got excellent physical traits, good technique on the ball and is calm. He's also a pretty good finisher in my opinion when he gets into scoring positions.
I feel he can still blossom into a very fine player (he's only 21 after all) . Either Conte takes a look at him and decides he wants to keep him around and use him, or we should sell him to Napoli with a buy back clause. That way if he develops well, we can still get him back for a reasonable fee.

I feel like we should spend a lot in the summer in order to bring in players who are fit and ready for the premier league because let's face it, our current team aren't.
Here is a list of in my opinion should stay and go:
Courtois: a vital part of our current and future: keep
Begonia: a great keeper and shouldn't definately stay
Cahill: give him 1 more year and see how he does
Zouma: definately keep, he's amazing and young
Azpi: not a very good season but should definately keep
Iva: old, past his time, sad but needs to move on
Aina: should definately give him chances next season just need to sort out this contract issue
Baba: not playing very well, maybe due to lack of confidence but I think give him another year
Ake: having a great season at Watford should 100% be in our team next season
Miazga: Young needs more time - keep
Clarke-salter: same as Miazga- needs more time
Matic: currently having an awful season but can play amazing on his day - keep another year
Fabregas: not sure about this one, he's slow and lazy but can play very well when he wants to
Oscar: needs to go, not developing and is slowing our attacks down
Pedro: looks like one of our only hard working players at the moment - needs another year
Willian: our best player by a mile this season definately keep
Hazard: having probably the worst season of his life but we all know what he can do - keep
Costa: I'm not entirely sure about him because he can be extremely good but can also be bad if we can find someone better then selling maybe a possibility
Rlc: bright talent, need to keep
Falcao: he's leaving any way- that's good
Remy: no heart or mind in the game needs to go
Pato: playing well and has great determination - not sure.

It's coming to the end of the season and what an awful season it has been for us. But we have to look forward to next season. And clubs like city and Liverpool both have new managers who will be given a big spending budget and who will most likely bring in a whole new load of players without caring about who leaves. Honestly we should do the same, we like to keep players, doesn't matter if they aren't very good, we just don't letting go. So hopefully conte does and gets rid of the players who clearly are not good enough or maybe not as good as potential new signings.
GK:
In my opinion courtois needs to make up his mind, he is a fantastic keeper and is a big part of our future depending on whether he stays or not, and I think almost every Chelsea fan would love to keep him.
Begovic is a great keeper and deserved number 1 spot, however if courtois stays he will remain number 2 which no Chelsea fans can say it's a bad second choice.
Defenders:
Our defence has been woeful this season and players like Ivanovic and Cahill just haven't been good enough. Azpi has had a been few months but I say keep in for next season the same goes for Cahill, he is homegrown and is really good on his day, keep him but if he has the same season as this next year sell him. Ivanovic needs to go, he is past his time and is slowing us down and causing mistakes at the back. But Zouma when he gets back from injury will be our best defender by far.

For the first time in a decade Chelsea find themselves at a genuine crossroads. Like it or not the dynasty that was created by Mourinho's first tenure at the club has, like all sporting dynasties do, come to an end.

Before we survived on the remnants of this period and the longevity of a new manager wasn't directly linked to our abilities to successfully challenge for titles and cups. Often a manager would come and go but the silver-wear collection would continue to grow because, generally no matter who the manager was, the likes of Cech, Terry, Cole, Lampard and Drogba remained; and the winning ethos created, and installed deep within them, by Mourinho remained too. Last season Mourinho was able to eek out the last of this winning mentality but this season, even for him - the manager who created it, that well run dry. When John Terry's contract isn't renewed this summer the last member of these winners will be gone. But this is a natural conclusion to a sporting dynasty, and we should just be happy that we were here to experience such a period at the club we support; a period where we won everything English and European football could throw at us.

Now the process starts again and in Conte we have manager who isn't just another post Mourinho managerial appointment; it's his job to create a new playing identity for Chelsea and build a new successful dynasty - from the foundations to the roof. It might be a long process but we will see success come back to Chelsea. In our youth ranks we already have players who are used to success - they too have won everything thrown at them and some will surely bring this mentality into the first team by Conte and hopefully the likes of Clarke-Salter, Aina, Loftus-Cheek, Baker, Musonda and Solanke can become the spine of a new dynasty at the club and we, the fans, will get to see the club grow again and be fortunate to see another period just as successful as the last.

well lads 3-0 @ home not what any of us wanted to see the year has been a tough one it happens to everyone from time to time, its hard to take what's happened this year falling from grace having to see cech in arsenal shirt, the loss of a legendary manager, watching our ex players tear it up. but its done line needs to be drawn look at posistives we have conte comming in a no bs guy we have a crop of amazing youngsters and still going after big names the night is always darkest before dawn we may of had our pride dented but well be back stronger then ever.

It's been an awfull season mate and a season of complete shock throughout the whole club. We need a clear out that's for sure it was clear to see again yesterday our midfield been over run favregas mikel and even matic are all to slow city exploited that very well yesterday aguero and de bruyne done the damage big time. That been said people are constantly calling for the younger players to come in I feel there has been moments were Kennedy rlc and Traore have shown us there potential but they are not quite up der just yet as first team starters Kennedy looks in experienced were Traore gets bullied a bit up front although his pace is fantastic and rlc looks so lazy for such an athletic man but look on the bright side conte is coming in I'm sure hel steady the ship and make Stamford bridge a fortress again and make us hard to beat for me players who must go this year . Baba Rahman John obi mikel Oscar remy ivanovic and pedro are all must leaves . Possible exits are hazard courtois Jt and Cahill and Costa . It will be interesting to see what kind of backing conte gets financially as we all no mourinho didn't seem to get that the last summer an it showed up with the rubbish we did buy. Remember when mourinho won the league back in his first spell he was handed players like sidwel for free and Ben haim it's strange that it seems
Twice he's been given players he doesn't want anther shevchenko i'm sure mourinho did buy pedro or Rahman either there not mourinho type players.

We have to be grateful to Hiddink for steadying us because without that calmness he brought given the last two performances, we would be in a dog fight to stay up. A lot is resting on Conte's shoulders and as Antibot said, you can start from scratch and we may well have to resign ourselves to a 2016/ 17 season of building. Some will be sold, others will ask to leave and that will mean buying as Conte will have little experience with our youngsters and as talented as they are at their level, many of those we have praised on and off are clearly not ready for a permanent place. Abramovich was at yesterday's game and like many of us, wondered what in the hell had gone so badly wrong and I certainly would not blame Mourinho.
