Hi eds hope you are well
I was wondering if chelsea were considering bringing in Walter sabatini to the club in some capacity as the media have reported it a fair bit since the conte rumours began. I wondered if there was any truth in this and whether it would affect michael emenelo as I think sabatini would become the new sporting director and I don't know if this would affect emenelos position within te club.
Thanks in advance and great work on the page too.

In this bitterly disappointing season we are having I'm taking a look at our traditional rivals and how they are doing. Firstly Man Utd, quite simply in turmoil. Manager is clueless and they went out of the Champions league at the group stage in what was a fairly easy group on paper. Spent incredible amounts of money to maybe, but probably not, finish top 4. Tough tie away to West Ham in the FA Cup and likely to go out to Liverpool in Europa League. Poor Season? Arsenal are heading out of the Champions League, already out of the domestic cups and a lot to do in the premier league to even make top 4 let alone win it. Poor Season? Liverpool struggling to make top 4 again, out of domestic cups and although still in Europa League, will they win it? Poor season or good by their recent poor standards? Man City, for the best squad in the league should be top by a country mile yet might not even make top 4. Won the Capital one cup and into last 8 of Champions League but will they go further? My point is, are things changing? The money in the Premier League is now starting to level the playing field, which is good from a competition viewpoint. Are the days of the so called top 4 or 5 having it all their way diminishing? As I write this Juve are doing a job on Bayern so is Pep going to succeed at City? Anyway, only time will tell. Chelsea with passion.

Say Hazard leaves this summer, which is very possible. Who would you like to replace him? Personally I love Reus, but as the eds have stated in almost certainly not going to happen. Would James work in the BPL if this rumored Madrid switch happens?

All depends who will be next Chelsea manager and what kind of tactical approach will new have.

{Ed002's Note - You know who the next manager will be.}

I don't think the rumoured straight swap will happen, but the players moving between the clubs in separate deals is possible. I think James is a quality footballer who would work in any league.

I think we'll be playing with two strikers under Conte next season, with or without a back three, and should Hazard stay I'd expect him to play just off a main striker. Should he leave then both James and Griezann excel in this position - I'd love to see us sign either of them if the need arises.

Hazard has almost 4 years left on his contract - he won't be going anywhere.

I won't be happy swapping Hazard for James Rodriguez. If Hazard wants to leave then it is better if we heavily cash on him and bring the players that would fit to new manager's system. Chelsea will probably concentrate on getting 2 or 3 strikers, again it depends who will leave.

I agree and can see hazard going. I personally wouldn't want James. Although a great talent he appears to be a mood player. When he's good he's very very good but otherwise he's anonymous. Imo that isn't what we need. We have enough of that type of player at the moment. Hopefully they will leave in summer and get in players who want to be here long term.

C'mon Mrs Costa, surely you realise that clubs resign players to a longer deal to elevate their selling price rather than have them "run down" their contract and get little or no return for their original outlay. Hazards value (should he wish to go) is much higher on a four year deal than with only 12 months remaining at seasons end.

Yes Kiwi, but the fact is that he has 4 years on his contract and will only leave if Conte wants him to leave.
