I really do think he will score bags of goals for us playing with better players, shrewd bit of business IMO :)

Love your optimism, situation :)
I don't think he'll be a hit with us, but I'll definitely support him and hopefully he can surprise me.

Ed, is the paper talk over CFC interest in Charlie Austin based on any kind of truth?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the papers are saying.}

On a personal level would you let Cech go where he and his family wanted to be as a thank you for his great service to your club or would you say business is business you've been paid very very well for your services and you go where we say you can go?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea would not stand in his way.}

I'd let him choose where he ends up. The man is absolute class, he deserves that. It won't be fun to see him play for Arsenal or United or whoever else, but he deserves it. He's won everything here with us and played a huge part in all the success. It just had to happen that Courtois developed so rapidly. The right decision has been made by the club (to make Courtois number 1 keeper), but Cech is a legend and can go wherever he wants.

I agree Jackson although you might expect that :-) but I think sometimes there's a special case's where a player has given fantastic service where the clubs should put aside it's best interest and show the human side of the game.

I don't think chelsea would stand in his way but I'm sure Jose would. Look what happened with galas and cole.

Decided i'd watch Juventus vs Udinese from a while ago, Allan was playing, and he was really good

He doesn't seem like an out and out Defensive mid. He is good on the ball and quick to pass of

I really like his build as a player. He looks good!

But for me, I'd be willing to give Romeu his preseason and use him if Mikel does indeed leave. I really Like Romeu

That's just it, isn't it. There might be a lot of good players, but are they actually better than our players out on loan? I also like Romeu. He's defense first and I like that. Big, strong and I thought he had some good tackling and passing.
Some might argue that he wasn't very good for Stuttgart, but playing for Stuttgart is not the same as playing for Chelsea. They almost got relegated, so I'm guessing that in a lot of games they were on the back foot and under attack. I believe Romeu could do a job for us.
Another one is Chalobah. He played very well for Reading in a central midfield role during the second half of the season and I'd like him to be given a shot. The boy can play. Maybe he's a bit too casual out on the field but I think he'd be just fine.
And then we've still got Van Ginkel, who started playing really well the last few weeks/months for Milan. He's another one who doesn't shy away from a tackle and likes to get forward.
Lastly, Pasalic. Ed002 has already stated that Pasalic will perhaps get a chance to impress during preseason and might just stick around for next season. So his season can't have been shabby.

So some good options out on loan. I say we buy if we can get a world class player, or a near world class player with the potential to get there (Pogba/Gomes). If that's not possible, then try to integrate loaned players.

I actually thought we had found a good player in romeu. I think he would give more than Mikel and would be a good squad player. What I like about him is he presses the opposition constantly and also has a good range on passing.

From what I remember about Romeu from what I remember, when he played for us which tbf was a while ago, was quite slow to offload the ball. His transition wasn't really quick enough, although he didn't have a good range and was decent in possession. That could have changed in the intervening years though.

I do recall Romeu being somewhat slow at covering ground across the pitch which would prevent him from playing with a guy like fabregas. I really hope chalobah makes it though as he has a ton of things going for him. He's still very young (20), he's academy trained and supports the club, and he's got the athleticism to perform multiple roles. He's struggled at times on loan but I feel like bringing him back and integrating him can do a lot of good with how uncertain it's been with his loans.
