Evening Ed002, any updates on any movement for players? I've read Cancelo is off to Inter in a swap deal with Kondogbia?

Does it matter? £25m for a young player who to date is no better than some of our younger players that we let go or send on loan. The comment above about Sergio Roberto; Danny Drinkwater would be a far better option as he passes very well and defends well so what is the Roberto attraction other than we are caught up in "foreign name syndrome".

Hi Ed. With the recent comments from the Southampton board regarding VVD. Do you think he will be sold and this is a tatic to higher the price etc.

Marcos Asensio!

Class in the U21 European championships, wonder goal vs Barcelona Sunday and now another tonight.

Pay his release/ buyout/ life clause and sign him up :)

Boga is going to surprise spurs and burst onto the scene, morata is going to grab headlines with being superb and pain in the arse for Toby and Jan with movement, azpi in midfield also going to do a job on delle too,

Back to premier league matters. I believe the key to the match on Sunday is Courtois. I have not been impressed with him so far as I feel he could have saved two of Burnley's goals. And with Spurs he needs to come out of his goal and fight in the air as Eriksen's crosses are lethal.

Opinions are the life blood of any banter site. So, respect everyone's point of view!
Lets have a reality check. TC is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he will save us far more points than he Costa us.
I hope he has nothing to do on Sunday and Ericsons crosses have caused us problems in recent games but in my opinion the problem was that he was always allowed time to pick a cross. It's my view that every time this was always to Matic switching off.

Taking a sabbatical from the page till post-transfer window. A great community ruined by negativity and incessant trolling from usual suspects.

the most of new names will vanish from the page. That's what it is. If one supports the one will continue no matter what.

People are entitled to express their opinion. Some of us are a too negative and others too positive. Some of us are naive, some have good insights and some are misguided. Does it matter? It is up to the reader to read or ignore.

16 Aug 2017 18:00:55
That's fair enough Byrrab but you must admit the site has really gone down hill this transfer window. The standard of posts is dreadful and the negativity and naivety of some posters is quite embarrassing. I have been using this site for many years and have never seen it this bad before. No wonder the eds tend to stay clear most of the time.

Agree2 Disagree3

16 Aug 2017 18:08:13
You could say some only stick around when everything is nice and rosy with which things are not right now. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, be that positive or negative and to be honest at this moment in time there is not much to be positive about with our club right now. However football is fickle and this time next month things could be completely different and full of positivity. I'll support Chelsea through everything but people have a right to express themselves whether that be positive or negative.

Well when you can't read a single post without coming across the same thing over and over again, it's hard to simply not read it or ignore it.

Criticism is fine as long as it's constructive!

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 12:34:15
Sadly, what is constructive to one is seen as destructive by someone else because there are obsessives on here that do not like their club criticised, players or favourite player criticised. Chelsea are not perfect and never will be and if they were winning every game, rightly, there should be criticism/ observations about improvements. Every year we get a raft of players the media have linked us with and those liked by contributors and usually we might buy one or two if that and it causes the 'banter' that makes the site interesting; everyone should be entitled to express an opinion and then it will either be liked or disliked and you move on. Sometimes people forget that a site like this has a vast age range contributing.

Goodevening Ed;

Is it true that Chelsea made an early enquiry for Krychowiak of PSG?

And would Chelsea look to go in for him if he was available?

Thanks for your response.

Matuidi 20m. drinkwater 40m 😂😂 these are reported fee's being branded about. This is what happens when clubs know your desperate.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2017 16:32:49
Matuidi is 30, drinkwater 27, Chelsea aren't in the habit of signing 30+ players anymore. I think that's where the club and conte are clashing heads, conte wants older more experienced players with no resale value where as the club want younger hungry players who could possibly make the club some cash in the event of resale.
30m is a fair price for drinkwater, 3 year deal is like adding a 10m player each year and tbh I think drinkwater will shut a few up on here with his ability. If he was called daneilo beber agua I'm sure people on here would want him.

Absolute bargain from Juventus.
Wonder if they'll ship any midfielders away now? They've perhaps got the best central midfield in the world now, in my opinion.

Drinkwater is a proven partner to Kante, homegrown and 27 y. o. Matuidi is 30.

Bored now with 'transfers' and 'upset Conte' - has anyone been watching the sad demise of JT at Villa? Last weekend he was being run ragged by a free-transfer from Rochdale!

Let it go, Johnny T, and come back home - we need you (probably as manager by Christmas! ) .

Believable2 Unbelievable1

16 Aug 2017 14:15:19
Totally agree. It is heading for Conte leaving after Spurs game. Left it too late to do any meaningful transfers. Now clubs will ask for ridiculus money.

16 Aug 2017 15:59:15
Some of you might be better off supporting Arsenal! Give the board a break.

Agree4 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 16:04:21
Maybe not after the Spurs game but we appear to be heading that way by Christmas. His whole body language is not what you would expect and there are similarities with Mourinho's fallout. Mourinho was transfers and the Doctor, Conte, again transfers and Conte. Better get prepared for Leonid Slutsky to step in!

In the world of Business the board are responsible for everything. In this case, we have people detached from what the team needs in order to compete sucessefully in all fronts. Not talking about spending money left right and centre. It is all about having a plan and execute it.

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Aug 2017 22:34:31
The owner and the board have one clear mission and that is to continue with on the pitch success.
The club can't sign players if a club doesn't want to sell and would be financial madness to pay bonkers transfer fees way above the clubs upper valuation.
We have an OWNER and BOARD who have given us fans everything we could have dreamed of and they deserve nothing but a full support.
I've been a season ticket holder for 55 years and this without doubt this best time ever to be a Chelsea supporter!

In: Rudiger? Bakayoko? Morata?

Out (from! st Eleven) : Matic. Costa.

16 Aug 2017 12:47:49
In: Replacements for those that have departed. So we haven't actually strengthened from last season. All we've done is sell a load of fringe players and we're left with a small squad. Now if we'd of added those you mentioned and kept Costa/ Matic then we'd be stronger.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 15:17:05
People thinking we've strengthened and this window isn't as bad as we think 😂😂😂 you guys are the best, we are weaker and smaller SQUAD than last season and manager unhappy with boards failure to bring players in sooner and squad look low on confidence, just don't sound negative ok people 😂.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Aug 2017 15:59:58
Look we get it. It's been a horrendous window. We're going to be relegated and there's going to be a mass exodus of players following Conte quitting. Yada yada yada. We don't need 100 posts every single god damn day saying the same thing. I fail to see how it contributes at all to any discussion, pretty much copying and pasting doom and gloom to every post. Do you think we haven't realised your opinikn on the transfer window the last 99 times you posted it? We're not so completely blind to the situation, we simply want a little bit of optimism or at least don't wish to see the same old boring negative stuff posted on every thread.

dan23 is right.Conte will have to manage with players on his disposal. So don't get surprised if Chelsea doesn't finish in to 4 or top 6.Even the best managers can't do miracles.Chelsea doesn't have a squad to defend the title and speaking about international success is illusion.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 18:17:41
If we win on Sunday (unlikely) and we sign 3 or 4 players before the window shuts. I hope everyone will be a little bit more positive?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 18:20:01
Nibby, your evidence we've gone backwards is one match in which we played with 10 men for the majority of and 9 for about 20mins. We could have even drawn it had Morata not unnecessarily tapped in Christensen's shot. Was it a good game? No of course not. But I'm hardly going to use it as evidence we've gone backwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2017 18:47:15
I don't think having an opinion is worthy of all the troll comments. Why would you troll your own club and fellow fans? I mentioned positives in a previous post, albeit at this moment in time it's hard.

I for one don't want to post negative stuff, it's just out of frustration as in my opinion we're having a poor window. It's a fan site, a banter page, where we can share our thoughts on the club WE love.

Hoffenheim v Liverpool Match Review - A Liverpool Perspective

Ed I was just wondering if you have seen the Nice full back Ricardo Pereira play? I've heard he's very highly rated but I haven't gotten round to watching him play yet. We haven't been linked with him as of I know but I'm just thinking of alternatives I'm not as keen on Oxlade-Chamberlain as a lot of people are. Aurier is my favourite but he comes with an attitude and he looks more United bound. Cancelo looks good as well but only seen a little of him. One of my other favourites is Toljan of Hoffenheim but he'll probably end up at Bayern like the rest of all young German talent.

As for LWB there's only two quality options in my eyes both of which seem unlikely in Alex Sandro and Rose. We must be given confidence in our pursuit of Sandro otherwise the rumours would have gone away.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have seen Nice a couple of times but I do not remember Pereira at all. I was probably too busy watching Mario though to see how he got on to notice anyone else unless they were particularly outstanding.}
